The foundation to accomplishing this is rooted in financial and social inclusion through the retention of ownership, equity, and independence. Although people of color account for many providers such as (MDs, Ph.D., Psy.D's, Therapist, LCSW's RN's, etc.), unfortunately, there is only one Black-owned and Operated Hospital in the Nation and minimal (inpatient or outpatient residential facilities, or consulting firms) in the industry as well. The healthcare industry is a revolving door and one of the most lucrative industries in American Finance. This disparity is proof of the need for change and not indicative of independence, inclusion, ownership, and equity whatsoever. My vision and mission to be the first Black-owned and operated healthcare facility in the western region will ensure people of color have a seat at the table in major industries while ensuring not to ostracize those who are not people of color by providing a full spectrum of cultural competence and diversity, rendering sound treatment, and receiving compensatory financial gains to be a catalyst in transcending the delivery of healthcare to all which is what America is founded on moving onward and upward. To reach my goal, have paired knowledge currently obtained in law school and having a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology, with prior work experience as a court liaison for a Mental Health Court Program in Orange County, and working for Universal Health Services (UHS), one of the largest corporate hospital management companies in the United States. This has resulted in me co-writing a mental health program statement for a Short-term Therapeutic Residential Program (STRTP). California Assembly Bill 403 governing public social services, has mandated a reform called the California Community Care Facilities Act, implementing Continuum of Care Reform regulations for residential group-home facilities. My aid in creating policies, procedures, and mental health program systems in alignment with statutory minimums by the State; along with licensed marriage and family therapist and Doctoral student Angie Keys for KYJO Youth Services, was approved an interim license by the State in December 2019 and also received a three-year international CARF accreditation. This work has allowed Fresno to expand its ability to provide mental health treatment to adolescent youth in the probation and foster care system. There had previously only been two licenses approved in Fresno County. This experience has built my relationships within the city council, the department of mental health, child and family services, and the public defender's office. The Valley's future has transitioned into leading the curve in behavioral health by servicing its community with proper mental health treatment through the court process in hopes of lowering recidivism rates. Also, I have created a business called TransEvince Health Services. I seek to acquire a thirty to forty-bed commercial real estate facility by leveraging the assets and equity of a home I own in Los Angeles county to attain such. I will mitigate liability and risk factors by forming my hospital as a stand-alone psychiatric facility and not having an attached medical floor. I will use the admissions process as a gatekeeping process for referrals as a screening process for serious medically compromised patients. I will convert my residential home into a lower level of care (step down facility) to best serve my hospital patients with step down services upon discharge to inpatient residential services, partial hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive outpatient program (IOP) services.
