Bio

I’ve found myself to be a very emotional yet logical person who seems to view the world differently than those around me, while also being able to find the beauty and pain in the aspects that follow. I hope to use my abilities to bring people together and unlock the unique interior we all have, yet lose sight of.

I'd like to think that even growing up as a child, I've had a special view of how we treat others and what it all means. I struggled with depression and anxiety, which I also found extremely common within my generation and hidden throughout past ones. I found myself asking why we treat each other with such harshness and yet we're such sensitive humans, each one of us whether we realize it or not. I truly believe that although there is lots of negativity and learned helplessness throughout society, I believe that we can come together and find new solutions for all of us to find an equilibrium where we can find satisfaction and live in harmony. I believe that it begins with ourselves, and being kind to ourselves. We need to understand what it feels like to treat someone with kindness and be treated with kindness to be able to pass that on to another person. I do my best to smile at people throughout my day even when I'm having a hard day. Everyone is having a difficult time at some point and we all have those moments where things can bring us down, but you can also think the same about positive experiences. You choose your own relative experience of the world, so I try to be a role model to those around me and actively choose a more positive outlook on my experiences so that I'm overall more satisfied with my life. Another thing I tried to do is talk out any emotions. One thing I realized is that a lot of people just genuinely do not understand the feelings that fester inside of their bodies, leading them to have all these emotions but have no idea what to do with them. If I see someone having a hard day or struggling with some work, I approach them very gently, assess the situation, and very kindly yet blandly ask them if they need any of my help and what kind of help they think they may need. If they have trouble sorting their feelings into words, I do my best to help them and I rely on their behavior to tell whether or not I'm pushing any boundaries of theirs, though I do my best to just ask them out loud how they feel. A lot of times we don't realize how much we catastrophize the ideas in our minds, and when we verbalize those ideas, it can be a lot easier to analyze and assess how to move forward and take the next step. I do try to challenge my peers but in a very upbeat, kind and gentle way. I believe that challenges can and should be fun, on each challenge is another lesson on how to be a kinder more mature individual. In conclusion, I am very passionate about helping those around me, and I hope to pursue this in my studies and in my career in the future. I hope to be a happiness psychologist who can go counsel certain groups of people and shift their mindsets on their own relative experiences on what they believe kindness means to them.
