I want to help others to give back for those who have helped me become who I am. So many people have invested in me and I want to pass that on to someone else. This is already in the works as I help in my churches youth ministries on many Sundays. I love how curious they are to learn about God. Having them to help guide is amazing because it is like guiding a whole new generation to become the best they can be. These children soak up so much and early on as well. It is best to begin when they are young to be teaching them rig hr and wrong and how to be kind so that when they are older they live out those lessons. My church does an amazing job at teaching these children the traits of Jesus and how our actions affect others. I truly am excited to see what this next generation will bring to everyone’s future.

I am passionate about getting my education because the world needs more women in business. Business has been overrun by men for so long, and now the field is opening up to women who want to pursue there dreams. I am one of those women. Education has always been a strong trait for me. My grades were always good, and I have had determination to get each stage of my education completed. I was a junior in high school when the pandemic hit, and I feel like I lost a chunk of memories that I could have had. I have been studying in a local community college, but I have realized that I want more in my education. I went to visit The Crown College (a Christian college in Tennessee) and I loved it. The atmosphere was much more inviting then community college. I want to be able to make friends who are on the same path in life as I am. It will allow me to become more independent in my studies and truly focus on them. I will not have my family or local friends to distract me. I want to be able to make a name for myself where few people know who I am. Education is such an important backbone to many career, with a few exceptions. I want to be able to go as far as I can with the education that I receive. I have a great support base as well that has given me encouragement, but has contributed very little to the funds that I need to pursue this dream. I do think that it is my responsibility to come up with the money needed for college. This would give me the shove I need to be able to worry a little less on working a job as often and more on doing the best I can in all my schoolwork. I want to get the best marks on my work to prove not only to others but to myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to doing. God has given me a mind for numbers and business, and I am so thankful to Him for being my biggest Rock and support. Thank you for having this scholarship available to women, I do believe that they sometimes can have the hardest time in careers. I want to prove to everyone I have what it takes to get a degree and pursue my dream in business.

The best personal finance lesson I have learned is to save for your future self. I want to be able to have a comfortable life one day, and spending all my extra money now will not help that. Also, I should tithe the 10% that I make to God so that my earnings can be multiplied. Saving always helps, and will never hurt anyone. It will be there in times of emergencies, or when you want to splurge a little. Saving for the future will also help provide for the family I want to have one day. Having children is very expensive, so starting early will always help. I want to be able to give the child not only what it needs, but also allow it to have toys and fun, enjoyable things. I cannot wait to have the family I want to have, and putting money aside now will make that event less stressful.

My siblings and I growing up loved to watch Scooby Doo. In fact, we even have clothing items related to the show. Throughout the show, the group discovers there is a villain and there mission is to figure out who it is. Most of the time it turns out to be someone that they know. This showed me that sometimes those trying to hurt you are closer than they seem, and can often be in your close circle.

Being independent means knowing what you want for your life, and doing what you can to achieve that without relying on others. We need to realize that God has a plan for us, and once we know that then we need to strive for that every day. There comes a time where we need to stop relying on our parents or teachers and taking responsibility for our own actions. If we want something, then we should work for it. Being independent is also about providing for those who rely on us. This could be a partner or children. Even pets would fall into this category. We cannot think about ourselves all day long. There are others who need our support and love. Sometimes we even need to know when it is time to ask others for help. You can still be independent when you are receiving help. As long as you pay it back, or pay it forward, then you are still acting independently. Independence is all about how you live your life, and about how much you can support yourself and others.

My best skill is in my schoolwork! I am always trying to do my best to get good grades on my assignments. I am thankful to God that I am good at my studies because it will help me in the future of my career. I am learning the ways of business, which is exciting because that is the field that I want to go into. I can also help others with their studies. If I know of a classmate that is struggling, I would be more than happy to help them if I can. Everyone should be willing to help those around them. We all have the same goal, and that is to finish schooling so we can go into starting our careers. I want everyone to succeed in whatever they do, and if I can help in that I will! Working on school has always been my strongest skill and I am excited to continue to learn more!

Recovery means that you are able to overcome an addiction with the support of others. Many forget that recovery requires dedication that can be hard to face alone. Everyone needs a person to be in their corner to encourage them and be their accountability partner. Sometimes this is a parent, a family member, or a counselor. Also, recovery is getting away from those who have brought you down that path. Sometimes it is who they live with, or even who they work with. Whoever it is, it never will hurt to try to keep distance between each other. God is also another person to go to for help. Getting involved in church can help turn around a situation because it allows the addict to see how the outside of a situation similar to theirs can be. It can also show them that there is a way to get help. No matter what the situation, recovery is always the best option for everyone that are involved.

Mental health is such a broad form of illness to many. It can come in the form of being OCD, feeling the need to harm themselves, or ending their life. I truly believe it is a darkness that overcomes a person, almost like a fog. It makes it hard to think as usual, or to feel the normal emotions. I have struggled with forms of OCD. I have the need to make everything a certain number, and if it is not perfect in my head then I have to make it so. Sometimes I feel like this sets me back in the goals I want to achieve. I do not want to go for better options because that means that my brain will have to work even harder to make it how I think it should be. I am so thankful that I have God to help me through these dark times. I ask Him to take it away from me, and some days He does allow to be easier. I am thankful that it has not led to progress to any other forms of mental illness. I want everyone to be able to get the help they need for what they are going through. Colleges should have better strategies of helping their students. Allow them mental health days when they just cannot seem to get out of bed. If they are struggling to eat, give them a counselor that will not force anything on them, but be a safe place to talk and listen. Colleges need to provide better mental health care, and God will also give guidance on how to help those who need it.
