I am a first-year kinesiology major with a concentration in exercise science, aspiring to pursue a career in physical therapy. My passion for rehabilitation and athlete care began while serving as a sports medicine aid for two years, where I worked with over 15+ sports teams. In this role, I supported athletes by reducing injuries, promoting hydration, and guiding recovery processes. I took initiative in rehabilitation by creating recovery plans and tracking athlete progress to ensure safe and effective return-to-play outcomes.
Alongside this experience, I hold a CNA license, which has strengthened my foundation in patient care and anatomy. My goal is to combine my academic knowledge with hands-on experience to help individuals improve mobility, regain strength, and reach their full potential through physical therapy.
I am eager to continue learning, building connections, and growing as a healthcare professional.

I will brighten my community by becoming a physical therapist, someone who restores independence, confidence, and hope to people recovering from physical setbacks. Through healthcare, compassion, and service, I hope to positively impact not only individual patients but also the families and communities that support them.
As a child, I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but I never knew exactly what I wanted to do. For years, I believed I would become a nurse. On every elementary school career worksheet, I proudly wrote “pediatric nurse.” However, my perspective completely changed after one track meet.
During a 400-meter race, I suddenly felt my hip give out during the last 100 meters. Although I finished the race and even received a medal afterward, I was in severe pain. Later that day, an X-ray revealed that I had fractured my hip. That injury introduced me to physical therapy, which became one of the most life-changing experiences of my life.
Throughout my recovery process, I witnessed people overcoming ACL tears, broken elbows, and mobility challenges. I watched individuals slowly regain confidence in themselves and begin smiling again when returning to their normal selves. Seeing those transformations deeply impacted me. I realized that physical therapy is about far more than exercises or rehabilitation plans; it is about restoring hope and helping people reconnect with themselves after feeling defeated.
There is often a light that dims in people after they experience an injury or physical setback, but there is a gleam that returns to their eyes when they begin to feel like themselves again. That gleam is what I chase and what I believe can be restored through physical therapy. Whether I am helping someone walk again, return to a sport they love, or simply complete everyday tasks independently, I want to help people regain their sense of freedom and confidence. When one person heals, it positively impacts their entire family and community as well.
I currently attend North Carolina A&T State University as I pursue my path toward becoming a physical therapist. My goal is not simply to be successful within my profession, but to become someone families remember as the person who helped their loved ones regain their quality of life. I want to encourage patients not to give up on themselves during recovery and remind them that healing is possible even during difficult seasons.
Although I originally imagined myself primarily working with children and athletes, earning my CNA license at sixteen introduced me to a different population that strengthened my passion for service: the elderly. While working in a senior living community, I realized that many people overlook older adults and fail to recognize all they have been through. I want to work with elderly patients because they deserve patience, compassion, and care just as much as anyone else. I hope to provide support to individuals who may feel forgotten and help them maintain independence and confidence in their daily lives.
My passion for healthcare also connects closely to my love for community service. Over the years, I have volunteered at food pantries, Books for Africa, festivals, and senior living communities. What I enjoy most about serving others is the opportunity to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Sometimes, something as simple as encouragement, kindness, or reassurance can make a lasting difference in someone’s life.
Through physical therapy, service, and compassionate care, I hope to create an impact that extends far beyond hospitals or clinics. I want to restore not only physical strength, but also hope, confidence, and quality of life within my community for years to come.
