I, Taylor-Rose Moananu, am an aspiring lawyer, planning to concentrate on human rights in graduate school. As a human rights lawyer, I will do my very best to relieve those who still experience violations of their rights to survive, including indigenous groups. I am very passionate about bringing justice to these communities and those who have experienced such violations, including no access to clean water, those falsely accused of committing crimes, discrimination, especially in the workforce, etc.
My personal hobbies and passions include taking long walks, journaling, reading, caring for my plants, and going to coffee shops. Coffee shops, and coffee in general, go hand in hand with Seattle, a city I have always aspired to live in, and that I now call home.
I am a sophomore at Seattle Pacific University, in Seattle, Washington, studying Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and Law. Once I have graduated from undergraduate school, I plan to attend law school in the Seattle area to earn my Juris Doctor degree, specifically in civil or human rights.
I am the first in my family to attend college, and I will be adding to the 4.7% of lawyers on record, who identify as AAPI, let alone, the percentage of female lawyers. Earning as much as possible, will bring me closer to bringing change to these communities, both in the US, and possibly globally as well. Join me on this journey, to bring justice to those who experience the violation of rights, to which we are entitled.
