My name is Taylor Conklin and I am a recent graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA. I was accepted to my first choice college Brown University early decision where I will be pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am very excited to be attending Brown this coming fall and look forward to spending the next 4 years in Rhode Island. In high school, I was a member of a variety of clubs including Diversity Club, Multicultural Club, and Gold Key Club. I also served as a member of National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, and was named a National Merit Commended Student. My passion for the arts awarded me Second Place overall in the Regional Art Show and a membership to the Art Honor Society. I volunteered within my school by taking part in Magic Thon to help raise awareness and funding for causes such as childhood cancer. I also was a member of a variety of charitable clubs such as Lemon Club (Alex’s Lemonade Stand), Aid for Friends and Environmental Club. I served as a Student Ambassador donating my time to events such as Open House for prospective/future “Mounties” and the scholarship entrance exam where I enjoyed speaking about my experience at MSJA. My love of all things art allowed me to serve as the Stage Crew Manager for the musical theater department. Outside of school I enjoy reading, creative writing, drawing, theater, and spending time with my friends. Summers you can find me working as a Camp Counselor at Greater Plymouth Community Center during the week, and spending weekends at the Jersey shore.
