Bio

Hello! I am Taylor Coleman, a fervent advocate for health equity and an aspiring health lawyer dedicated to transforming healthcare access and policy. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at a young age, I experienced firsthand the disparities and challenges within the healthcare system, particularly as a minority woman. This early encounter with health inequities ignited my steadfast commitment to public service and advocacy. I pursued a certification in patient advocacy, empowering others to navigate the healthcare system effectively and use their voices to demand better care. Currently, I am completing a Juris Master degree in Health Law and plan to continue my education at a top law school in Fall 2025, with applications to Howard University, University of Maryland (Baltimore), Georgetown Law, and American University. Through my academic pursuits, I aim to gain a deep understanding of the legal frameworks that influence healthcare policy and patient rights. My ultimate goal is to specialize in health law and advocate for policies that ensure equitable healthcare for all, focusing on eliminating systemic barriers that disproportionately affect underserved communities. Earning scholarships is pivotal for me as it would alleviate the financial burden of pursuing advanced legal education, allowing me to focus wholly on my studies and advocacy work without the distraction of financial constraints.
