Greetings. My name is Taylor Bennett, and I am from Mount Vernon, New York. Political Science is my selected academic area of study because it allows me to study government, public policies, and political patterns. I learn about the United States and the world -- and how ethics, justice, and democracy affect collective decisions. Making a difference in the American justice system will result in the dismantling of the barriers African Americans face. While in college, I am eager to take advantage of the opportunity to understand politics by gaining theoretical and practical knowledge. I am committed to learning about American politics, relations between states, political processes, and theories. Understanding the complex justice system will aid in my fascination with law. My pursuit of a career in law is driven by a deep-seated desire to make a positive difference in the world. I firmly believe that I can achieve this by practicing law. As a lawyer, I envision myself advising individuals or government agencies on legal matters and representing them in court. My goal is to empower people by informing them of their rights and helping them resolve disputes. I am convinced that a college education will equip me with the necessary tools to serve and assist the members of my community.
