Youssef University’s College Life Scholarship
If I was given $1000 right now, I would start using it to pay off my student loans. I don’t receive any help from my family due to us being a low-income household, so with that I had to take out two loans for $5500.
My family struggles a lot with medical bills and the pure cost of living. When I was younger, my mother would tell me we had little money. Once I got into college, I got a job and I tried saving my money as much as I could. I work almost 20 hours a week and go to school for four hours a day. It is very tough to keep up on school work while having a job.
While having a job and also having to go to work every single day, it takes a toll on my health. I find myself very sleep deprived and always hungry, because as soon as I’m done with classes everyday I immediately have to leave for work and as soon as I get back from work I’m left to do my homework which takes on average two hours each day. I rarely get to sleep until around 2am, then I wake up at 9am.
This Thousand dollars would be very helpful to me, especially in this coming year. I would love to not go into student debt and be able to pay off my loans yearly and not rack up interest.
