Bio

Hello! I am Taurique Clark and my goals in life are to become a businessman in architecture and give opportunities that I was not given in school to those who need it. I wish to do this because many opportunities are missed due to a lack of resources or low funding, and I don't want people to miss out on all of those opportunities because of something as trivial as that. What makes me a great candidate for these scholarships is that I have the accolades to prove my worth, the attributes that set me apart, and the results to prove that I'm not all talk. I have been selected by my principal and administration for the MLK Dreamers and Doers Award, and the Direct Auto Exchange Student Spotlight Award. I've been in multiple leadership roles ever since my freshman year of high school, these roles consist of being the band president, the drum major, the secretary of the key club, the trombone section leader, the trombone co-section leader, and the co-captain of the black history Brain bowl trivia team. Additionally, I have been in the top 10 percent of my class since my sophomore year, and I held the number 5 spot in my high school. Furthermore, I currently am a member of the Marching 100 and I serve as the assistant rehearsal director for the Strikers Dance Troupe.

      Jerzee Foundation Scholarship
I plan to make a positive impact on the world through my career as a business man in the field of architecture by letting my creativity and adaptability reflect in my work. My goals in life also consist of me making a down payment on a new home, getting accepted for high paying internships, receiving my architecture license, and being able to afford a new house for my mother. This scholarship will aid me in my pursuit of furthering my educational goals by relieving stress not only off of my shoulders but my mother's as well. My mother has four children including myself that she still takes care of due to issues that have been arising in and outside of our household. My mom's income is already less than 20,000 dollars a year, and she has already been through a lot so I don't want her to stress about my college being paid for. This scholarship will help me pay for the classes I need in order to graduate with my bachelor's degree, and some of the money will go towards getting my master's degree in architecture. Additionally, I'm currently relying on my music scholarship to pay for my education in college, which is helpful but tuition is steadily increasing and I'm not sure how much longer my music scholarship is going to hold out. But despite the financial struggles I find myself facing, currently, I want to use the money earned from this scholarship to pay for my entry into a few architecture programs. This will benefit me by networking with the firms, and gaining experience from interning with the various programs. I plan to take this a step further by learning to not only listen to ideas but to take each an every idea someone may have and turn it into a masterpiece. With my education being paid for by this scholarship and being able to intern I will accumulate the knowledge and experience needed to start my own architecture firm. When I have my own firm I plan to use some the scholarship money to help fund the firm and get it up and running. The firm will generate revenue, my work will breed clients, and I will be one step closer to financial stability. After I become financially stable I'll purchase that new home for my mother, buy that new car I've always wanted, and live the life I've always dreamed of. Ultimately, my education is what will breed my success and with this scholarship I can pay for my education, use that education to be more innovative, and take that innovation and let it create everything I have envisioned for myself.

My favorite tarot card is the magician card. The Magician is a card of action and manifestation that has the figure's poised stance and presence of elemental symbols convey a sense of mastery over the creative forces at play. This resonates deeply with me because that inspires confidence in my ability to shape my destiny. The Magician encourages a proactive approach to life, emphasizing the transformative power of focused intention and skillful action. Additionally, versatility is another hallmark of the Magician card. The card's imagery incorporates symbols from all four tarot suits, emphasizing adaptability and a multifaceted approach to life. This versatility makes the Magician applicable to a wide range of situations and questions posed during tarot readings. Whether seeking guidance on career choices, personal relationships, or spiritual growth, the Magician's adaptable energy allows it to offer meaningful insights across diverse contexts. Furthermore, the Magician card also holds a strong connection to the realm of personal development and self-discovery. Many individuals, like myself, turn to the tarot as a tool for introspection and guidance on their life journey. The Magician, with its transformative symbolism and emphasis on personal mastery, aligns seamlessly with the desire for growth and self-realization. It serves as a beacon for those navigating the complexities of personal transformation, offering encouragement and assurance that they possess the skills and resources needed to undergo profound positive changes. Moreover, the Magician embodies a sense of initiation and the potential for transformation. As a card of new beginnings and initiatory energy, it speaks to individuals at pivotal points in their lives. The imagery suggests that the Magician's influence extends beyond mere external circumstances, reaching into the realm of inner transformation and self-discovery. This aspect makes the Magician a favorite among those seeking guidance during times of personal evolution and life transitions. The Magician tarot card being my favorite set of cards throughout the deck can be attributed to its embodiment of personal empowerment, versatility, and transformative potential. As a symbol of action, manifestation, and self-mastery, the Magician resonates with individuals on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Its timeless appeal lies in its ability to inspire confidence, adapt to diverse situations, and offer meaningful insights into the transformative power within each seeker's grasp. The Magician, standing at the crossroads of the mystical and the practical, continues to weave its magic as a beloved and cherished archetype in the tapestry of tarot symbolism.
      Redefining Victory Scholarship
Success to me is measured by the results produced by the work being put into whatever goals or objectives one may decide to pursue. To me, success is synonymous with accomplishment. Whether in the realm of business, education, sports, or personal development, the emphasis is on the demonstrable fruits of one's efforts. This perspective shows that success is not merely an abstract idea or a journey with no destination; rather, it is a destination reached by achieving predetermined objectives and delivering tangible, measurable results. In the business world, the results-driven approach is ingrained in organizational culture. Companies set strategic goals, define key performance indicators, and measure success based on financial outcomes, market share, and customer satisfaction. Profitability, revenue growth, and successful product launches become benchmarks that validate the effectiveness of business strategies. This focus on results is not solely about the bottom line; it extends to operational efficiency, innovation, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic market. In the educational sphere, success is often gauged by academic achievements, examination scores, and the attainment of learning outcomes. Students and institutions alike are evaluated based on their ability to produce measurable results, reflecting a mastery of knowledge and skills. Standardized testing, graduation rates, and employability metrics become yardsticks for educational success, providing a quantitative lens through which achievements can be assessed. In the realm of sports, success is tied to outcomes on the field or court. Victory in competitions, breaking records, and achieving personal bests are the tangible results that distinguish successful athletes. The scoreboard becomes the ultimate arbiter, and the pursuit of excellence is measured by the medals won, the goals scored, or the records shattered. Success in sports is not a vague concept; it is the clear and observable culmination of skill, training, and determination. Even in personal development and self-improvement, the results-driven perspective holds sway. Individuals set goals, whether related to health, career, or personal growth and measure success by the milestones achieved. Weight loss, career advancement, or acquiring new skills becomes evidence of progress and success. The sense of accomplishment derived from reaching these goals reinforces the belief that success is not an abstract notion but a tangible reality. The results-driven perspective on success underscores the importance of tangible outcomes in various domains of life. Whether in business, education, sports, or personal development, the ability to achieve measurable results is a powerful metric that validates effort, strategy, and determination. While the journey and the intangible aspects of success should not be overlooked, the results-driven paradigm offers a pragmatic and goal-oriented approach to defining and realizing success in our dynamic and results-oriented world. I believe that this opportunity will aid me in my journey toward success in my career by allowing me to fund my classes for the summer terms, start up my architecture business, and fund the products and software I need for school. I have been making it through college by using free trials on the various software I'm required to use for my design classes, but the trials are about to end and I do not have the funds necessary to purchase the various software at the moment. After the free trials end I will be limited in what I can produce and the quality of my work may begin to decline as a result. So, with the funds from this scholarship, I'll be able to purchase the software to keep the quality of my work pristine and the success of finding internships and becoming a dependable architect will be assured.

If I could have everyone in the world read just one book it would be "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. "Sapiens" provides a sweeping overview of human history, from the emergence of Homo sapiens in Africa to the present day. It covers a wide range of topics, including anthropology, biology, sociology, and economics, giving readers a comprehensive understanding of our species' journey. The book encourages readers to think critically about the development of human societies, cultures, and institutions. It challenges common narratives and prompts readers to question their assumptions about the world. The themes explored in "Sapiens" are globally relevant. The book addresses topics like agriculture, religion, politics, and technology, which have shaped societies worldwide. It helps readers grasp the interconnectedness of human history. Harari addresses the impact of Homo sapiens on the planet and the other species we share it with. This can prompt readers to consider their own role in the world and how they can contribute positively to the future. Harari writes in a clear and engaging manner, making complex concepts accessible to a wide audience. This accessibility increases the likelihood that the book will resonate with a broad range of readers. "Sapiens" covers a vast array of topics, which can pique readers' interest in various fields of study. It may inspire them to explore more deeply into subjects that fascinate them. By providing insights into the diverse cultures and societies that have existed throughout human history, "Sapiens" encourages empathy and understanding for people from different backgrounds.

Tom Holland is my favorite actor as Spider-Man. This is because Tom Holland was cast as Spider-Man when he was relatively young, which allowed him to convincingly portray the character as a high school student. This brought a level of authenticity to the role that I appreciated. Tom Holland is known for his athleticism and agility, which is important for a character like Spider-Man who relies on acrobatics and agility in his crime-fighting endeavors. He brings a certain level of charm and likability to the character. Holland's chemistry with other actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly with characters like Tony Stark/Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) and other members of the Avengers, contributed to the overall appeal of his portrayal. Additionally, Tom Holland's Spider-Man is part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, which allows for crossover events and interactions with other beloved characters. Furthermore, Tom Holland's Spider-Man is known for his quick wit and humor, which aligns well with the character's personality in the comics. This aspect of the character is well-received by audiences. Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker is often filled with emotional depth, particularly in moments of vulnerability and conflict. Also, I had the opportunity to see Tom Holland's Spider-Man grow and evolve over multiple films, which has allowed for a deeper connection with the character.
      Netflix and Scholarships!
My favorite series on Netflix that I can binge-watch every day is Naruto. Naruto is a character who not only endures any hardship thrown his way but encourages everyone around him to accept who they are and find the good in the bad. My favorite thing about Naruto is that the quotes given by certain characters are life lessons that I can take with me until I pass on. One quote in particular that I find resonates with me the most is, " Someone told me I'm a failure! I'll prove them wrong!" This is by far one of my favorite lines within the entire series because in that moment I felt as if I was in Naruto's shoes speaking to the world and letting the world know that I'll always manage to prove and stereotype, any doubts, or even any negative connotations of me wrong. On top of the amazing dialogue within the show, I also enjoy the different bond dynamics built within the series like Naruto and Jariya, Kakashi and Obito, and even Sasuke and Naruto. These relationships breed a deeper connection for the viewers so they can watch how everyone finds someone who understands them, whether they're seeing that individual as a younger version of themselves, or as something/someone they aspire to be. Naruto relates to me in my time of solitude when I was in middle school up until now, because I always feel like an outcast no matter where I go even if I have friends with me it still feels like I have to try harder to fit in. And what I learned from watching Naruto was that to feel comfortable within my body I have to embrace every part of me whether it's the good, bad, or the ugly. The series itself doesn't have a lot of filler episodes and cuts straight to the action, meaning the thrill and excitement will almost always be there until a filler episode shows up. Each episode is twenty-four minutes long including the intro and outro track, so it can be watched on the go whether that's in a house, at work, in the classroom, or on a trip. The series is an endless cycle of discovering something new about oneself, creating allies instead of enemies, never giving up, and never letting anyone deter you from your goals. Naruto wanted to become the Hokage of his village and I wish to become the Business owner of an architecture firm, so I'll believe in my abilities and my dream just as Naruto did with his.

I plan to make a positive impact on the world through my career as a businessman in the field of architecture by letting my creativity and adaptability reflect in my work. Being an architect means that I have to learn to not only listen to ideas but also take every idea someone may have and turn it into a masterpiece. Once I have enough knowledge on different materials and the different architectural styles I will be able to interpret certain requests better than I've ever been able to, which will allow me to gain more knowledge and exposure in my career. Many times have I seen families request a design and they're unsatisfied with the result because the designer either didn't interpret the request well or simply didn't ask the right questions. When I become successful with architecture I plan to ask as many questions to a client as I can, because to gain a mutual relationship with one another I have to know the kind of person they are and what their likes and dislikes are as well. This, in turn, pushes me to be as meticulous and thorough as possible because I would know how they want their house designed, what to put in the house, and when they'd like it made. These architectural skills would then go hand in hand with my business management goals. I say this because once I understand how to operate a business I'll be able to expand my influence further than just my community. I plan to have a team of people to help me make the designs happen like a few interior designers, a few construction workers, and a few engineers that deal with plumbing and wiring. My goal is to work closely with different engineers because I heard that many engineers dislike architects. After all, they typically design things that can't be made. So, to alleviate that issue I would take all of my client's ideas and go over what can and can't be created by an engineer, that way I can let the clients know ahead of time if their idea needs to be altered slightly (I'll help come up with alternative methods) instead of telling them that I can get the job done, then they're dissatisfied with the results. This will ultimately allow me to stay true to myself by not giving anyone false hopes, making sure the task is feasible, and giving alternatives if need be. Additionally, my goal as a businessman/architect would be to just see the smiles on everyone's faces when I make something, that may have just been a dream or seemed impossible, possible. Pursuing an education is important to me because I genuinely feel that knowledge is power if used correctly. Growing up, I noticed the different societal stereotypes placed on individuals based on their grades alone. Pursuing an education imbues me with more self-confidence in my character, more vigor in my actions, and more tenacity in my craft. I love challenges, the more difficult the challenge the greater the feeling of accomplishment, challenges allow me to continue improving and remind me that I always have room to grow because once I stop having challenges I’ll plateau and stop growing. So, pursuing an education is an important aspect of my life because it gives me a reason to keep growing, it will help me reach my goals of becoming a fine architect and businessman and furthering my education will help me voice to the world that “I too can utilize my education to its fullest extent.”

Here's an excerpt from Plato's "The Republic," specifically from Book VII, commonly known as the Allegory of the Cave: "Behold! human beings living in an underground cave... they have been there from childhood, having their necks and legs chained... and can only see before them, being prevented by the chains from turning round their heads. Above and behind them a fire is blazing at a distance, and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised way; and you will see, if you look, a low wall built along the way, like the screen which marionette players have in front of them, over which they show the puppets." Plato's Allegory of the Cave in "The Republic" is the notion that the physical world perceived through the senses is a realm of shadows and illusions. The prisoners in the cave, bound by their limited perspective, mistake these shadows for reality. Plato argues that true knowledge and enlightenment can only be attained by transcending sensory experience and seeking to grasp the eternal and unchanging Forms or Ideas that exist beyond the material world. This allegory serves as a metaphor for the philosopher's journey from ignorance to enlightenment, emphasizing the transformative power of intellectual inquiry and the pursuit of truth. Plato's Allegory of the Cave is a powerful metaphor that delves into the nature of reality, knowledge, and enlightenment. In this allegory, Plato paints a vivid picture of prisoners confined within a cave, bound and unable to move their heads or bodies. They can only see the wall in front of them, on which shadows are cast by objects passing behind them, illuminated by a fire behind the prisoners. The prisoners in the cave represent individuals who are limited by their sensory perceptions and conditioned beliefs. The cave itself symbolizes the material world, the realm of appearances and illusion. The shadows on the wall represent the distorted reality that people perceive through their senses, which is a mere reflection of the true forms or ideas. The fire behind the prisoners represents the limited understanding or enlightenment that comes from the sensory world. It provides the only source of light and knowledge available to the prisoners, but it is a false and incomplete illumination. The fire behind them is also a representation of their lives because the fire is constantly burning but is too dim to see, just as the prisoners' lives are withering away, like a flame, and are so far from the surface that non-prisoners may view their lives as meaningless. The outside world, which the prisoners are unaware of, symbolizes the realm of the Forms or Ideas, according to Plato's philosophy. These are the eternal, unchanging, and perfect representations of concepts like justice, beauty, and truth. They exist beyond the physical world and can only be grasped through intellectual insight and philosophical contemplation. The allegory emphasizes the philosopher's journey from ignorance to enlightenment. When one of the prisoners is freed and exposed to the outside world, it represents the philosopher's intellectual awakening, the process of ascending from the material world to the world of Forms. Initially, the liberated prisoners may be blinded by the intense light of truth, but gradually, they come to understand the true nature of reality. Plato's message in the Allegory of the Cave is a call to transcend the limitations of sensory experience and seek higher knowledge through philosophical inquiry. It urges individuals to question the superficial reality presented by their senses and strive for a deeper understanding of the eternal truths that govern the universe. Ultimately, it underscores the transformative power of knowledge and the pursuit of truth in attaining genuine wisdom and enlightenment.

The "Ode to Millennials-Gen Z" beautifully draws parallels between the challenges faced by different generations and highlights the potential for Millennials and Gen Z to rise to the occasion. It eloquently captures the spirit of acceptance, resilience, and a sense of duty that characterizes these generations. The ode acknowledges the complex economic, social, and environmental issues that Millennials and Gen Z are inheriting, yet it also celebrates their enthusiasm for life and willingness to confront these challenges head-on. The comparison to the "Greatest Generation" of the past is apt, as it emphasizes the potential for this new generation to leave a lasting positive impact. The ode also touches on the generational divide in perspectives and approaches, which is a common aspect of intergenerational relationships. It's a reminder that each generation brings its own unique strengths and perspectives to the table. It also shows how every generation has its own generational flaw or trait that causes them to stand out amongst the older generations. Overall, the ode is a thought-provoking and uplifting reflection on the potential of Millennials and Gen Z to become a force for positive change, much like the "Greatest Generation" before them. It encourages hope and optimism for the future.

Some of the common practices I have adopted to live more sustainably in my daily life are energy conservation, reducing waste, different transportation choices, eating sustainably, supporting sustainable products, and using minimalism and conscious consumption. Being intentional with energy conservation entails that I use energy-efficient appliances, make sure that I turn off lights when not in use, and reduce heating and cooling needs through insulation and thermostat adjustments. When I'm trying to reduce waste I implement practices like recycling, composting, and minimizing single-use items to help divert waste from landfills and reduce the demand for new resources. I tend to drive my car around which emits a lot of gases that may be harmful to the atmosphere even though I know that carpooling, cycling, or walking can reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with personal vehicles and would be the more eco-friendly route to choose. Another choice I make to live sustainably is to choose locally sourced, organic, and plant-based foods that can reduce the environmental impact associated with food production, transportation, and waste. Additionally, I like using water-efficient appliances, such as toilets, showerheads and dishwashers because being mindful of water usage contributes to conserving this vital resource. Furthermore, I love being intentional about purchases, focusing on quality over quantity, and avoiding unnecessary consumption to help reduce resource usage. The purpose behind my intentions when deciding how I want to live my life stems from trying to reduce my carbon footprint. It is important to reduce carbon footprints because of the harmful long-term effects it has on the planet such as increased temperatures, decline of animal species, loss of natural resources, decline in good health, money issues, and equity across the globe. People need to start focusing on climate change mitigation because carbon emissions contribute to climate change, which has far-reaching consequences for the planet, including rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and sea-level rise. The focus should also be on preserving biodiversity because many species and ecosystems are threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. By reducing carbon emissions, we help protect biodiversity and fragile ecosystems. Additionally, lowering the consumption of natural resources helps preserve them for future generations and reduces the environmental impacts associated with extraction and production. Soon after that the health and well-being of humans will start to incline because sustainable practices often lead to cleaner air, water, and a healthier living environment, which benefits both human and environmental health. The economic benefits of adopting sustainable practices can lead to cost savings, as well as new opportunities for green jobs and industries. Additionally, the assurance of global equity and justice will be present because climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities around the world. By reducing our carbon footprint, we contribute to a more equitable and just global community. Ultimately, reducing our carbon footprint is about being responsible stewards of the planet, ensuring a sustainable and thriving future for generations to come.

Volunteer experience greatly influences my core values and what I am working towards in my career and life goals. Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose and contribution because it often involves working towards a cause or mission that one believes in. This experience instilled a sense of purpose and a desire to contribute positively to society, which became a core value for me as I pursued my career as an architect. Volunteering exposed me to diverse communities and their unique needs which fostered empathy and a deep understanding of human experiences within myself. I am currently implementing that empathy and deep understanding in my approach to design, considering the well-being and needs of the people who will use the spaces I create as an architect. Many of my volunteer experiences involve environmental initiatives or community projects focused on sustainability. This led to a heightened awareness of environmental issues, which may become a central value for me as an architect striving to design sustainable, eco-friendly buildings. My volunteering experience often required me to work with a diverse group of people towards a common goal. This fostered skills in collaboration, communication, and teamwork, which are essential in the architectural profession where projects involve coordination among various stakeholders. Additionally, engaging in volunteer work has led to a deeper understanding of social issues and a commitment to ethical responsibility. This may influence my decisions as an architect, such as advocating for inclusive and accessible design or choosing projects that align with their values. Picking up on different social queues, being aware of my surroundings, and having a deeper understanding of human experiences are a few of the values I have been able to obtain through my volunteer work, and can/have been applied to my career and goals in life. Volunteering in community projects presents unique challenges that require creative problem-solving. This experience fosters an innovative mindset, which is valuable in the field of architecture where designing solutions to complex problems is a key aspect of the job. Also, volunteering alongside other commitments requires effective time management. This skill is crucial for architects who must balance design work, client meetings, and project management. Volunteering can provide opportunities to network with professionals and gain exposure to different aspects of the architectural field, which will be instrumental in shaping my career trajectory as an architect and broadening my perspectives. Additionally, engaging in volunteer work has led to continuous learning and personal growth. Throgh these opportunities I have instilled a growth mindset, encouraging me to stay updated with new technologies, design trends, and sustainable practices which is beneficial for my field of work. Overall, volunteer experiences have significantly shaped my core values by influencing my approach to design, my commitment to social and environmental responsibility, and my desire to create spaces that positively impact communities and individuals.
      Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Maintaining my mental health plays a critical role in my overall well-being, influencing emotional, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of my life. My mental health is important because it determines how I'm affected by everything around me and can determine how I feel physically. Maintaining good mental health is a difficult task especially since I am currently in my second year of college, but I still manage to use various practices to keep my mental health from declining including self-awareness, stress management, emotional expression, healthy relationships, finding balance in meditation, physical well-being, and seeking support from those closest to me. Often I find myself being too selfless which leaves me with little to no energy being poured back into myself. Understanding my emotions, thoughts, and behaviors was crucial because it allowed me to recognize when I might have been struggling and seek appropriate support. It's crucial to reach out for help when needed, whether from friends, family, or mental health professionals. Seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. What I often do when I am most stressed is openly express my emotions, whether positive or negative, which can be cathartic and help prevent emotional buildup or stress. Another practice that I find to be helpful in troubling times is taking care of my physical well-being because physical and mental health are closely connected. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep contribute to my positive mental well-being. Being able to learn and use stress management techniques, such as mindfulness, meditation, or deep breathing exercises, have helped alleviate feelings of anxiety or overwhelm. One stress management technique in particular that I am fond of using is meditation because meditation helps me to align not only my mental but my physical and spiritual well-being as well. Meditation helps me feel more balanced in my life and striving for a balanced life, where work, relationships, leisure, and self-care are all prioritized appropriately, is important for my overall mental wellness. Additionally, I choose to engage in meaningful activities to maintain my mental wellness because engaging in activities that bring joy, purpose, and a sense of accomplishment can boost mental well-being. Maintaining mental health is a continuous process, and what works for one person may not work for another. It's important to explore and find strategies that align with individual needs and preferences. Regular self-check-ins and seeking professional advice when necessary are vital steps in safeguarding mental well-being.

Leadership is the ability to inspire and guide a group of individuals towards a common goal or vision. It involves taking responsibility, making decisions, and setting an example for others to follow. Additionally, being a leader does not mean that someone is the best at everything they do, leadership means that they are the most effective at bringing out the best in everyone around them and producing the desired results. A few reasons why I believe leadership is important include setting direction, inspiring and motivating, decision-making, problem-solving, accountability and responsibility, empowering others, effective communication, and adaptability and vision. Leadership is an act rather than just a few words because being effective is not the same as being efficient. A leader provides a clear sense of direction and purpose for a group or organization. This clarity helps align efforts and resources toward a common objective. Effective leaders have the ability to inspire and motivate individuals. They instill confidence, foster a positive work environment, and encourage individuals to perform at their best. Leaders are responsible for making decisions, often in complex or uncertain situations. They weigh options, consider consequences, and choose the best course of action for collective benefit. Leaders are adept at identifying challenges and finding creative solutions. They possess the skills to navigate obstacles and turn them into opportunities for growth. Leaders take ownership of their decisions and actions. They are accountable for the outcomes, whether they are positive or negative, and learn from them to improve future endeavors. Often a great leader empowers their team members, allowing them to take on responsibilities and contribute to the overall success of the group. This not only builds confidence but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride. This also showcases how communication is a cornerstone of leadership. A leader must be able to articulate goals, provide feedback, and ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities. Leaders need to be adaptable in the face of change. They should have a vision for the future and be able to guide their team through evolving circumstances. Knowing everything is impossible for anyone, which is why leaders must build relationships and be able to adjust when things go wrong. Leaders cultivate positive relationships within the team and with stakeholders. They value diversity, inclusivity, and respect, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Leaders need to be adaptable in the face of change. They should have a vision for the future and be able to guide their team through evolving circumstances. Additionally, a great leader is concerned not only with achieving goals but also with the well-being and development of team members. They foster a culture of personal growth and work-life balance. In summary, leadership is essential for achieving collective goals, fostering growth, and creating a positive and productive work environment. It involves a combination of skills, attributes, and behaviors that empower individuals to work together towards a shared purpose. Effective leadership can lead to success, growth, and fulfillment for both the leader and the team they lead.

Understanding the nature of our universe is crucial for several reasons, some being scientific advancement, technological innovation, space exploration, and resource management. Scientific advancements help create a deeper understanding of the universe which leads to scientific progress in turn leads to furthening technological innovations. Technological innovation allows us to develop new technologies, make medical breakthroughs, and solve complex problems that benefit humanity. Many of the technological advancements we enjoy today are a direct result of our understanding of fundamental scientific principles because improved understanding can lead to even more groundbreaking technologies. With technological breakthroughs space exploration becomes possible and no limit can be placed on one's imagination. As we seek to explore and potentially colonize other planets or celestial bodies, a thorough comprehension of the universe becomes essential, because this knowledge ensures the safety and success of such missions. This is where resource management plays a key role because understanding our universe helps in managing Earth's resources. This includes sustainable practices, efficient energy usage, and addressing global challenges like climate change. Humans have always sought to understand the meaning of our existence and our place in the cosmos. A better understanding of the universe can provide insights into these profound philosophical questions. To achieve a deeper understanding, we can employ various ideas and concepts like empirical observations, mathematical modeling, interdisciplinary collaboration, theory and experimentation, and philosophical inquiries. Empirical observation forms the basis of the scientific method, allowing us to test hypotheses and refine our understanding. Mathematical Modeling is helpful because it aids in formulating equations and models so we can make predictions and gain insights into complex phenomena. Mathematics itself is a powerful tool for describing the physical world. Interdisciplinary Collaboration fosters many complex questions about the universe that require expertise from various scientific disciplines. Collaborative efforts between physicists, astronomers, biologists, and other fields can lead to holistic insights. When implementing theory and experimentation theoretical frameworks, such as Einstein's theory of relativity or quantum mechanics, guide our understanding. These theories are then tested through experiments to validate or refine our models. Additionally, if we were to look beyond empirical data, philosophical contemplation helps us grapple with questions that may not yet be answerable through scientific means alone. Ultimately, a comprehensive understanding of the universe requires a multi-faceted approach, combining empirical data, mathematical modeling, philosophical contemplation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This endeavor represents a profound human pursuit that continues to shape our world in remarkable ways.

This scholarship will help me pay for the classes I need to take in order to graduate with my bachelor's degree, and some of the money will go towards getting my master's degree in architecture. Additionally, I'm currently relying on my music scholarship to pay for my education in college, which is helpful but tuition is steadily increasing and I'm not sure how much longer my music scholarship is going to hold out. But despite the financial struggles I find myself facing, currently, I want to use the money earned from this scholarship to pay for my entry into a few architecture programs that will benefit me from the networking and the experience from interning with a few of the firms that work closely with the programs. I plan to take this a step further by making a positive impact on the world through my career as a business man in the field of architecture by letting my creativity and adaptability reflect in my work. Being an architect means that I have to learn to not only listen to ideas, that may seem odd, but take each an every idea someone may have and turn it into a masterpiece. Once I have enough knowledge on different materials and the different architectural styles I will be able to interpret certain requests better than I've ever been able to, which will allow me to gain more knowledge and exposure in my career. Many times have I seen families request a design and they're unsatisfied with the result, because the designer either didn't interpret the request well or they simply didn't ask the right questions. When I become successful with architecture I plan to ask as many questions to a client as I can, because in order to gain a mutual relationship with one another I have to know the kind of person they are and what their likes and dislikes are as well.

My goal is to work closely with different engineers because I heard that many engineers dislike architects, because they typically design things that can't be made. So, to alleviate that issue I would take all of my clients ideas and go over what can and can't be created by an engineer, that way I can let the clients know ahead of time if their idea needs to be altered slightly (I'll help come up with alternative methods) instead of telling them that I can get the job done, then they're dissatisfied with the results. This will ultimately allow for me to stay true to myself by not giving anyone false hopes, making sure the task is feasible, and giving alternatives if need be. Additionally, my goal as a business man/architect would be to just see the smiles on everyone's faces when I make something, that may have just been a dream or seemed impossible, possible.

A difficult situation that I was able to preserve through was making it through my junior year in high school. During that time COVID had become abundant everywhere and left my school testing out new protocols, which seemed to be working at first, but those new protocols also created a conflict with me mentally, physically, and emotionally. This was because my teachers were still trying to adapt, so it seemed like the only thing they knew how to do was give students an ample amount of assignments to take home. Additionally, I had to take on the work of college courses on top of my highschool work, which meant that I rarely had time to take mental breaks or even study. I would be up from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. working on assignments and trying to find time to practice my instrument, because I'm also in the band. But, even with all of those factors causing harm to my mental/ physical state, I still managed to stay motivated and get all of my assignments in on time and always managed to keep a smile on my face while doing so, because I knew that regardless of all these obstacles beating me down I would always get back up and overcome everything thrown at me. And I realized this when I looked at my grades for the school year and made honor roll for both highschool and college, and I was able to get 3rd chair trombone in all-district honor band.
