Creative writing is a huge part of my life, from the texts I send to the scripts I write. My career goal is to become a writer and director for animated series, and I have put a lot of time and effort into improving my skills to achieve this goal. I love to tell stories, and writing is essential in any storytelling medium. I have many ideas that I would love to express through comic books and animation, and I wish to someday be able to make these ideas a reality; I am studying creative writing for this very reason. I must hone my abilities to get to where I know I can be in the future. I've frequently pondered what my writing goals should be, and I believe that I have come up with a realistic goal: in the next fifteen years, I wish to be the head writer for at least three different series. This will require a vast amount of experience in different writing styles and techniques, but I feel that it is achievable. I want my work to make a difference in the lives of anyone willing to view it. I would not be the person that I am today without many of the books I've read, games I've played, and films, and series that I have watched. If my work can be loved and appreciated by even a small group of people then I will feel that all of my hard work will have been worth the struggle. I hope above all else that someday I'll be able to have the title of a creator for at least one animated series in my lifetime. The ability to work with a team to form a project in which we may express ourselves through the characters and the writing would be a dream come true, even with all of the long and difficult hours of hard work. Everyone has works that have impacted them, and as every person is unique, so are the types of media they love to consume. This is why writing demographics are important, an author must know who they wish to target with their messages or products to create a quality product. This is where creative writing is at its most important: it answers the question of "how do we express these thoughts to the people we wish to speak to in a way that makes us unique?" That is the true power of creative writing, and the reason why I wish to become a writer.

To me, art as a term is such an expansive idea that it can embody nearly any craft or creation conjured by the human mind. My personal definition would be that art is anything done or created by a living thing that has the main purpose of evoking emotion in another, although even being that broad isn't a perfect definition. Above all else, art is a means of personal expression that is unique to each individual. Everyone has their own favorite art forms, whether it be entertainment such as television, film, video games, or books, to more physical forms like martial arts or choreography. In my own case, I am deeply invested int the entertainment side of art, particularly with comic books and animation. i have read many different manga and comic book series and look up to several artists. Ones such as Brian Lee O'Malley, Tatsuki Fujimoto, and the late Kentaro Miura particularly stand out in my mind. I am more skilled as a writer than I am as an artist, but my visual inspirations are still very important to my creative process because they allow me to see a more vivid image of what I am describing. The ability to give the reader an image through the artwork whilst giving them the freedom to imagine how everything moves and sounds is unique to many other mediums, and it allows for even more expression from the author than a traditional novel. Along with comic books, I have had a fascination with animation since I was young. Seeing characters that I know are not real people move and interact with one another is quite interesting. It is also a medium that is infamous for its work load, which means that any high-production-value animated product is going to be the work of dozens, perhaps even hundreds of different people. Animation adds a unique element compared to comic books, that element of course being movement. Animated films such as 'Akira' use thousands of detailed drawing to painstakingly make each and every movement of the world and its characters feel as though they are truly alive and real. On the other hand, series like 'Spongebob Squarepants' and 'Rocco's Modern Life' feel much more bouncy and surreal in their movement and character designs. The artists behind each of these products feel as though they have many things they wish to say to the world, and they all use their works to convey these messages. We naturally learn more about certain ideas and lessons when they are given to us in the form of stories, and so this form of expression is completely timeless.Everyone can learn something new from their favorite art forms; art is completely universal. I feel that the ability to convey these messages and satisfy the artist and/or the viewer is what the true goal of art will always be.

I feel that animation has the power to inspire viewers in unique ways. The ability to take something from one's imagination and mold it into a moving, viewable image appeals to someone who has as much to say as I do. I believe that my goal of being a writer and/or director for animated television and movies can inspire this belief in others as well. I was infatuated with cartoons growing up, and as I grew into an adolescent my fascination only grew. I began to wonder how all these images were made to move, or why I felt a strong connection to one character, but not another. I started to watch YouTube videos covering the topic, and before I knew it. I was enthralled by the world of filmmaking, especially in animation. I watched documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, and more from some of my favorite series; the insight I gained helped me piece together more and more about what it meant to be on a team of animators, producers, writers, and more, and how they went about seeing their visions come to life. Despite originally intending to be a game designer when I was younger, I knew now what I truly wanted to do with my life. By this point in my life, I was fourteen years old, and my first idea was to become an animator, however, my lack of talent for drawing and coloring quickly made me rethink this idea. I began searching for more options, and that led me to the role of a writer. I genuinely enjoyed writing papers about things that I was passionate about in school, and I frequently came up with ideas for cartoons, so it seemed like a natural fit; by my sophomore year, I knew what role I wanted to play in the animation industry. I was lucky to have learned what career I wanted so early in my life because it allowed me to study up on my goal much earlier than my peers, giving me a big head start. I have applied what I have learned about writing to my time as a college student, and it has benefitted me greatly. I hope that one day I may be able to earn the title of the head writer on multiple series and inspire others to enter the industry like those who had the same dream as I know do have done for me.

Living with anxiety has given me a fear of living my life due to constant self-doubt. I think this is one reason why "Chainsaw Man" by Tatsuki Fujimoto felt personal to me. This story is a dark, violent tale about the life of a penurious teenager who is given a second chance at life with the ability to transform into a devil; however, at its core, it is about someone learning to accept that they are only human, and have desires that they may achieve despite their self-image telling them otherwise. While the lead character is constantly being taken advantage of due to his lack of education, he gradually learns after suffering betrayals, losing friends, and being manipulated, that he is more than a stepping stone for others. This character's growth is very inspiring and relatable to me, despite us being very different people.
