Hi! My name is Tanijah, but people call me TJ! I'm a college freshman with passions for mental health and equity. My dream is to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner, specializing in child/adolescent mental health. My short-term objective is to earn my BSN, but eventually, I want to earn my PhD in nursing!
As someone who yearned for true acceptance as a child, I want to help others experience it without worrying about criticism. In due time, I wish to build more trust within the healthcare system, attracting marginalized communities of race, gender, and ethnicity. Receiving a scholarship allows me to continue my education, feel secure in my financial future, and dedicate my time to building a more just and equitable future.
