Hi! I’m Tammy, a first-generation college student pursuing a path toward becoming a physician. I’ve spent most of my life balancing school with family responsibilities, which has shaped both my independence and my sense of purpose. My interest in science began at home, where I became curious about the brain and how it shapes personality, behavior, and mental health. Over time, that curiosity turned into a serious academic and career goal.
Throughout high school and now in college, I’ve worked while managing a full course load and staying involved in community service. I’m currently building clinical experience, planning health-focused initiatives on campus, and working toward earning my Medical Assistant certification. I’m especially interested in mental health and preventative care in underserved communities.
In the future, I hope to attend medical school, continue developing research experience, and serve communities that often face barriers to healthcare. I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and finding ways to turn my interest in science into meaningful impact.
