Greetings and Welcome to my profile! Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Talya I am ambitious and driven. I thrive on challenge and constantly set goals for myself, so I have something to strive toward. I'm not comfortable with settling, and I'm always looking for an opportunity to do better and achieve greatness.
I'm a first generation college student So graduating from college means the world to me. you see I've always been that student that studied at school on the average level not being “perfect enough”. Even though I wasn't that ideal student I've always strived to be the best. From all of the subjects that I've taking in the 13 years of being in school most of all I enjoyed Art, History, and Speech. Those subjects showed me how to embrace my culture and showcase my artistic side. Not only that History particularly Black History showed me that I'm much more than what society portrays me to be.Those subjects made attending school quite enjoyable. To add My college journey has been a challenge, often I wished I experienced college life like how it's depicted in movies. Fun and stress-free!
College for me was everything but stress free I've faced many challenges With my academic career and those challenges I faced I continue to embrace them on this journey and stayed optimistic.Despite the challenges that I've encountered I’m proud to say that I’m continuing to pursue my goal of graduating and becoming an Educator for future learning minds.

August 21, 2019, was my 22nd, birthday, and on that day instead of enjoying a big transition in my life, I spent it in my room crying. Why? I was 22 still in college, unemployed, and not knowing who I wanted to be. Seeing your peers graduate on time and me not knowing who and what I wanted to Be felt so pathetic. It's August 21, 2019, still, in pain, I decided to Login into my linked In account searching for a job. I stumbled upon a substitute position at a school that was near me. With my past experience working at a YMCA along with my 90 college course hours I was surprised that they wanted to hire me so quickly. I was a little apprehensive but surely I overcame the feeling and loved every bit of it. Subbing made me fall in love with the education field and suddenly a lightbulb popped over my head! I can study to be a teacher! And if you would’ve seen the the way my students looked at me you would’ve been hysterical! See at the time My major was undecided I had know clue on who and what I wanted to be. If I never decided to get up and stop throwing myself a pity party on August 21st,2019, I would have still been depressed. Linked in helped me tremendously I love what I do and in May 2022 I will be graduating with my Bachelors of Arts in Early Education.
