I am a board-certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Clinical Specialist with nearly two decades of acute/critical care experience. At UVA Health, I helped launch a Post-COVID/Post-ICU Recovery Clinic, revitalized the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program, and developed a facility-wide early mobility protocol for patients on advanced heart and lung life support. I served in national leadership roles with the American Physical Therapy Association and have represented the profession at federal health policy forums hosted by the NIH, CDC, and AHRQ.
None of those programs were built alone. Each one depended on assembling and developing a team of clinicians, physicians, and administrators who could carry the work forward long after I stepped back. That experience taught me that durable change in healthcare is a team sport, and that the people doing the work deserve leaders who invest in them.
This fall, I begin the Executive MBA program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. The decisions that determine whether patients receive evidence-based cardiopulmonary care are increasingly made in boardrooms and product development cycles, and I want a seat in those conversations. Darden is how I get there.
