The moment I watched my sister become the first in my family to attend college, I realized that a different future was possible for me too. Growing up, I didn’t really see people close to me pursue higher education or achieve long-term success, but her determination showed me what can happen when you choose the right path and stay committed. I’m Ta’Landria McDonald, a dedicated high school senior with a 3.6 GPA and a strong passion for growth and achievement. I’ve challenged myself by staying actively involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, and Mu Alpha Theta, where I’ve built leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills. I also ran track for two years, which taught me discipline, resilience, and how to stay focused under pressure. Inspired by my sister’s journey, I am determined to continue breaking barriers by attending college and pursuing a degree in Industrial Technology. I also plan to serve in the Army in an engineering-related role to gain technical and leadership experience while serving my country. Receiving this scholarship would mean more than financial support, it would be a step toward changing my future and continuing a new legacy in my family. I am committed to making the most of every opportunity and building a successful future that others can look up to.
