My primary life goal is to become a successful mechanical engineer or computer scientist that constantly strives for innovation and progress in my field. I have an interest in all things mechanical and digital. I joined the James Clemens computer science team in 2017 and along with my team, won the ACTE regional and state competitions in 2019 and placed 2nd in the ACTE regional competition in 2020. My team and I coded in the languages of C++ and Java. My greatest passion has been the Greenpower Racing team, where we build, maintain, and race motorized battery powered formula 24 vehicles. I joined the Liberty Middle school Greenpower Team in 2015 and was the lead driver from 2015-2017. I then graduated middle school and joined the James Clemens Jets Racing Team, where I became the lead driver from 2018-present, the lead mechanic from 2018-present, and the overall team leader from 2019-present. Under my leadership, we made many innovations to our cars both mechanically and aerodynamically and altered the leadership structure of the team. Because of these innovations, my team became third overall nationwide and got first place overall for the first time in James Clemens Greenpower History at the Trojan 90's Grand Prix on March 14th, 2020 in Hazel Green, Alabama. On that historic race, my leadership, quick thinking, and determination to win allowed us to beat the undefeated team for 7 years, our rival school, Bob Jones High School. Because of my leadership skills, determination, and problem-solving capabilities, I think I am a great candidate for your scholarship(s).
