My name is Syniah Thompson I am a senior at Bowie high school. I will be the first in my family to attend college. I come from a low income family. My mom work two full time jobs to take care of me and my sister. My mom motivates me everyday by just watching her go so hard for us. Even when I know she is tired she still get up and get the job done. Last year in 11th grade I had a little depression stage where I shut down and didn’t speak to anyone my grades even drop and I didn’t know how to express or speak to anyone I just walked around like I was ok when I know I wasn’t. I regret that set back last year because now I’m seeing that it affected me when I applied for college they look at your entire transcript. That’s one thing I do regret however that will not stop me from following my dreams no one is perfect I made the mistake then and now I’m pushing forward. I know i can do this . God brought me thru it he will see thru it. My passion is to become a neurosurgeon. I have alway had a passion to work in the healthcare industry. I love helping and taking care of people. As a young child I watched a lot of medical TV shows and always said I want to be on tv on one of them shows. Every time I go to my doctor appointments I just admire the healthcare workers . My goal is to continue to strive to be a black female neurosurgeon. We need more African American doctor but mainly female doctors. I will continue to work hard to become a neurosurgeon. One of the main reason I want to become a neurosurgeon is because my mom and a few other family members suffer from migraines headaches and as I got older I started to do research on migraines to try and help my mom. I plan on being the best female neurosurgeon there is. I plan to remain positive thru my training ask as many question and stay focus. Give my patients the best care and also have a clinic for low income families. I plan on having mini clinic on Saturday when patients can come in to be treated for minor things. I want my name one day to be on TV stating that I am the best female neurosurgeon. I want to just take a moment to thank you for reading a little about me.
