Bio

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at five years old. It hasn’t been easy living with this autoimmune disease but it has given me lessons to learn which turn into blessings. My disease has taught me to be independent as I am responsible for managing my blood sugars, my nutrition, and my insulin levels. I keep myself alive. I have learned a never-give-up attitude. It doesn’t matter what obstacles are in front of me. I size them up and really enjoy watching those obstacles sail by me while I surpass my goals. It has also given me an entrepreneurial spirit because I am more than my disease. I started an online resale clothing store on Instagram that helps me pay for daily expenses. I am now working to become a therapist who will work with children and families who are currently going through the obstacles I faced growing up. I want to earn enough scholarship money to make that a reality with a degree in Psychology and Family Counseling. My true love is softball. My disease has made me ultra-competitive, determined, hard-working, and goal-oriented. I have completed 2 years on the Ursuline College Arrows Softball Team where I was a NCAA Division 2 Scholar Athlete and a GMAC All Conference Academic Team. I entered the transfer portal and will be playing with the Roosevelt University Lakers and attending Roosevelt University in the fall of 2024. It's a dream come true for this young lady from a tiny town in Ohio. Type 1 diabetes NEVER held me back. It's my strength. It has pushed me to battle every day and live my life on my own terms.
