FinalistBio
Hi! I’m Sydney Lay, a student graduating in 2026 from Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington.
I am passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare. I’m drawn to the field because it allows me to combine science, compassion, and service in a way that directly improves people’s lives. I’m especially interested in preventative care and patient education, particularly in areas like nutrition and community health. My goal is to build a career that allows me to advocate for others while providing thoughtful, culturally aware care.
Outside of school, I value both creativity and physical wellness. I enjoy crocheting and knitting. I also love hiking in the Pacific Northwest and going to the gym to weightlift.
I value leadership, independence, and resilience, and I am always looking for opportunities to grow both intellectually and personally. As I prepare for college, I am excited to continue challenging myself, expanding my knowledge, and developing the skills needed to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and in my community.
