Stevens Institute of Technology
Master's degree program
2024 – 2025
- Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering

I am a first-generation immigrant from Honduras, on the path to becoming a robotics engineer. This fall, I will begin my Master of Engineering in Robotics at Stevens Institute of Technology. Despite earning a partial scholarship, I still have to take out loans to cover the remaining costs. Since arriving in the U.S. as an international student in 2014, I have earned degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Project Management. I am deeply passionate about promoting STEM education, particularly within the Latino/Hispanic community and among women, where representation is critically low, especially in robotics engineering. As a board member for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) New Orleans and NYC Chapters, I have spearheaded initiatives that empower these underrepresented groups. My leadership roles in SHPE and the Society of Women Engineers reflect my dedication to creating opportunities for future engineers. Due to my ongoing green card process, I am unable to work for the next year, making it challenging to finance my education and living expenses. I am seeking scholarships to alleviate my financial burden and continue my journey as a Latina robotics engineer. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to complete my degree and contribute to the field of robotics and engineering.
