Hi, my name is Susan. I am about to embark on the next step of my academic journey. I will begin working on my master's in criminal justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Fall 2024. I recently graduated with my bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Oswego State University with a 3.8 GPA. This is an exciting venture because I am a first-generation college student and a returning adult learner taking on a bold mission. I am determined to secure the finances to complete this academic pursuit with a law degree. My life changed drastically after the passing of my partner. He was a prominent NYC criminal defense attorney for over 25 years. He fought a passionate fight against social injustice. He always urged me to pursue law; now it’s time to make a bold move. Approximately one year to date, following the passing of my beloved, I became a victim of social injustice. As a direct result of a corrupted racial attack by the NYPD, my finances dissipated. While piecing together a broken heart, I suffered the loss of everything material in my life, including my career. The good news is that I am alive. Unlike many of NYPD's other victims, I can still fight the good fight. I intend to pick up where my partner left off. I will not stop until my mission for acquiring social justice for all is complete.
