Hello, my name is Susan. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in criminal justice. After many years, I returned to John Jay College to complete what I had started. I aim to obtain my criminal justice graduate degree before attending law school. I recently graduated from Oswego State University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, achieving a 3.8 GPA. My life changed drastically after the passing of my partner, a prominent NYC criminal defense attorney, for over 25 years. He passionately fought against social injustice and continually encouraged me to follow his path. I enjoyed a rewarding career as a corporate sales executive, but recent events have stimulated me to change directions. About a year after my beloved passed away, I became a victim of social injustice. The NYPD targeted me in a racially motivated attack, resulting in total financial ruin. A corrupt police officer falsely accused me of another woman's crime so he could steal my leased vehicle. In a blatant attempt to intimidate me and cover up his crime, he maliciously destroyed my career and continues to obstruct my efforts to regain financial stability. I have embraced this experience as a sign that I must continue where my partner left off, as defeat is not part of my vocabulary. Therefore, I have decided to carry on the fight for social justice.
