Hello, my name is Sunny! I have a love for helping animals and people. I am currently pursuing a degree in zoology with an interest in wildlife preservation. I believe I am strong candidate for these scholarships due to my dedication and commitment towards my education.
Some things about me: I am a first generation college student, paying for my college expenses myself, and plan to use my degree to teach others the importance of preserving our environment. I love documentaries and research opportunities, as well as reading books about anything and everything. I plan to travel and explore the world while learning different cultures, languages, and ways of life.

I would work towards state-funded mental health insurance. A majority of people cannot afford to get the help they need because their insurance does not cover the costs, or they can't afford insurance at all. Everyone should have access to health care regardless of their income level or background.
People like my uncle, are being failed by the state for not having the resources needed when they get out of prison. People with different backgrounds, childhoods, and income levels all deserve to have access to quality mental health services. Setting up offices in homeless shelters, youth centers and rural communities is a step in the right direction. I believe facilities and call centers should be more accessible and government-funded for these reasons.
