Giving back isn’t just something I do; it’s a core part of who I am. Growing up, I’ve seen firsthand how not everyone has equal access to resources and knowledge. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to bridge those gaps through volunteer work and initiatives that genuinely impact people’s lives. One of the projects I’m most passionate about is Project Cyberwise, a nonprofit I co-founded to help seniors and young students navigate the digital world safely. Our goal is simple: make technology less intimidating and more empowering. We’ve reached people across ten cities in the U.S. and India, tailoring our workshops to meet the needs of every audience. I’ve taught seniors how to use smartphones and helped kids stay safe online, but what really sticks with me are the connections we build. I’ll never forget Dorothy, an elderly woman who came to one of our workshops. She started off scared to even touch her phone but ended up connecting with her family across the country by the end. Seeing her confidence grow reminded me why I do this—to make real, human connections and leave a lasting impact. But I’m not stopping there. As I head to college, I’m determined to keep growing Project Cyberwise. My plan is to partner with schools, community centers, and other nonprofits to reach even more people. Technology evolves fast, and I want to make sure we’re evolving too—updating our curriculum and expanding our reach so no one gets left behind. My drive to serve goes beyond just digital literacy. Volunteering at the Manor Free Clinic has given me hands-on experience in healthcare, working alongside medical professionals to support patients who often slip through the cracks of the healthcare system. Whether it’s assisting with patient care or simply listening to someone who needs it, I’ve learned that even small acts of service can add up to something meaningful. This experience has fueled my goal of becoming a pediatrician, where I hope to advocate for kids who need it most. Moving forward, I’m committed to making a difference, whether through expanding Project Cyberwise, advocating for patients, or just being there for someone in need. To me, giving back isn’t a one-time thing—it’s a lifelong commitment to use whatever skills and resources I have to make someone’s day, year, or even life a little bit better. This scholarship would help me continue my education without financial stress so I can use my time to help others while focusing on my goals to become a doctor.
