Welcome to my profile! If you’ve stopped by to learn about me, you’ve come to the right place. I am considered a non-traditional student as a mother and 24 years old, but higher education has always been my aspiration. I’m passionate about foreign language and education - so I’m a future Spanish teacher! I like to participate in the community, and I am growing a community garden this year with my 5 month old son by my side. My long-term goals include being fluent in at least 4 languages, obtaining my Masters degree, and developing my career as an educator and community member. Thank you for stopping by!

They say never to make your hobby a job, but I disagree when it comes to benefitting the community. Although I don’t technically receive a paycheck, my favorite hobby is gardening; this can be beneficial to fellow community members, as I grow a garden that anyone can pick from.
I truly enjoy growing plants but I haven’t always had a green thumb. In the past, I have killed resilient plants like Aloe Vera from overwatering and neglect. However, I decided during the pandemic that I wanted to change this about myself. I started gardening small plants, which turned into glorious, cool ground cover and blooming flowers. My favorite from my first successful season of gardening was my mint plant, as it smelled nice and went well in ice water.
At that time, my primary focus was getting a plant to survive. This year, I am finally confident enough to grow for the benefit of others. I have decided on hardy, tried-and-true choices like corn, potatoes, peppers, carrots, and okra. I plan to allow members of my neighborhood and beyond come and go to get what they need! I will also accept any donations of seeds or gardening supplies, further engaging the community. I look forward to the future of this project, and don’t regret taking what I enjoy and using it for good.
