I aspire to make a difference in the workplace. People are oftentimes not taken seriously when filing a complaint or concern. I want to be the person that people can confide in, and feel confident that I will do everything in my power to help them. This is why I am persuing a degree in Human Resources.

Being a parent has proven difficult in my education journey. I have considered going back to school many times, but always make excuses for myself as to why I wouldn't succeed. After having children, I mostly used the excuses that I won't have time or I'm to exhausted.
Mental health has alway been a struggle for me as well. I never took the time to get the mental health help that I needed. Growing up in the environment that I did, it was looked down upon to have poor mental health. The thought of mentioning it to someone was scary for me. Also, convincing my parents to get me help was out of the question. After having my own kids, I realized that I could not put off getting help any longer. Not to mention, having kids seemed to have made matters worse. The exhaustion and the change that my body went through, intensified any negative thoughts I already had.
Now that I have gotten the help that I need, I am ready to pursue my educational goals. I have seen many people in the same situation be successful. I still have lingering thoughts that I may not be successful. I know that I can do it. I have already enrolled in school and registered for classes. The university I am attending has an abundance of resources to help me along the way.
I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Upon completing my Associate's in Business Administration, I will pursue a Bachelor's in Human Resources. This degree will help me financially support my kids. It will help pay for their wants and needs. It will help them pursue their dreams, whether it be sports, college, or trade.
As a parent, I can no longer make excuses for myself. I am going to show my kids that I can and will be successful. I want to prove to them that anything is possible. If can't show my kids how to be successful in life, than I have failed as a parent.
