Considering all the interests we have and all the options we have to choose from, it can get tricky when it is time for us to make a decision. My whole life I have had strong personality traits and an interest in science and helping people. And to this day I have the same interest. Therefore, I would love to pursue a career in the medical field. Medicine requires a lot of reading, patience, and passion in order to succeed in your career path. Medicine is also always evolving and getting more efficient for us so there is always something new to learn which will never get you bored of the same old thing. There are many different fields to choose from and doctors get paid well. On top of that, you are helping people everyday and being counted on. The only thing that I could see negatively about choosing this career path is how long it would take in order to just get your doctorates degree. Do not mistaken me for saying it is not worth the time, I just feel that the time being so long may get in the way for some people. Full time students who also are parents might change career paths after realizing it could take so long to start getting paid the right amount of their career choice. In my case I want to become a neurologist and from now until I finish and have the title as an Neurologist, it is going to take sometime. And also being a single parent, this makes it even harder to keep up with. But my passion and desire for this life is too high to let time or children get in the way. And I believe other people feel like this too about the subject. I have often thought about very different career paths. such as modeling. I have always been told that I am very photogenetic and have wanted to take an interest to photography, makeup, and modeling. But I just have not taken the extra step into taking it more seriously. I have also thought about getting into law and maybe even becoming a lawyer one day. This also falls into my strong personality traits. I am very stubborn when I have made a decision. I have always been hardheaded and stuck with my opinion the whole way. I am good at defending and competitive so I thought this was also a good career path since you also help people everyday. And even with all these other choices I still choose Medicine. Online resources have strengthened my opinion on medicine and have been very useful. There are all kinds of article and websites to inform you on the specific topic you are searching for. They have all made it very efficient for us when trying to contact certain places or for answering questions we have. This is only my second year studying in college and my journey in learning and fulfilling my academic dream has been everything I hoped for. I am so excited for what is next and hopeful in this scholarship opportunity.
