Giving back to one’s community is a value at Kenan-Flagler that greatly resonates with me. I come from a culture and religion where serving others in your community is not only encouraged, but also expected. What inspires me to get involved in your community is the passion I have for my people. Individual participation represents the best in all of us. Being part of this activity means having the opportunity to do something truly special: Selflessly serve others. One of the simplest ways that I gain satisfaction from life is by dedicating my time to a cause that I feel passionate about. Even though community service is designed to help others, I often felt as if I benefited more than the people that I helped on many different levels; mentally, spiritually, and characteristically. I enjoyed the balance of a diverse, yet tight-knit group that focused on facilitating the lives of others. These experiences also helped to build character and leadership, transforming me into a more patient, responsible, and flexible person. I gained an opportunity to share my talents and positive qualities with a younger generation so that I could spark their interest in becoming an asset to the community, and to me, getting this opportunity is absolutely priceless. By learning to help others, I learned to appreciate myself and my actions at a more profound level. Although the assignment is completed, my inclination to serve others has not faded. I will still continue to help others in the community regardless of where I go. This experience has helped me to cherish my ability to influence and impact others in a positive way, and it helped me to look at community service as a benefit for myself, instead of just another obligation I have to fit into my schedule. Even though I have participated in many service projects over the last few years, I failed to really immerse myself in the true meaning of helping others. However, as I continue to do more for my community and discover hidden lessons within community service, I treasure my ability to help others. Community service brings out attributes within me that I never realized existed, challenging me to become more patient and caring, and encouraging me to strive towards being a better person. Finally, this community service essay has helped me reflect on what I have learned and how this experience benefits me. Community carrier or volunteerism permits students to accumulate existing competencies and knowledge, as well as supply a service to those who need it most. Engaging in community service provides students with the chance to emerge as lively contributors to their community and has a lasting, high-quality impact on society at large. This lies in the truth that it connects us to the community by enhancing it and making it a better place for all of us to live in.

Education is a key that has the ability to open many doors. For example math is important because math teaches knowledge and ways to solve problems. Students master these skills by watching, listening, reading, and writing. When you learn new things, you develop an understanding mind and knowledge. There are several ways to develop a wide knowledge; one way is paying attention to the instructor. What inspired you to pursue an advanced certification or degree was structure. Education provides fundamental skills that are required for most jobs. Now-a-days finding a job in today's world is becoming difficult each and everyday. Most of the world’s top jobs require advanced knowledge and intelligence. You can work as a top employee by attending school. School is very important because you earn education. My goals for your specific area of nursing is to continue my vast knowledge of nursing because I love learning new things and with a nursing career no day will be the same as the day before, so you will constantly be learning new skills, plus there are many different areas of nursing that you can go in to, so this will enable me to put my skills that I already have in to use but also learn completely new things. This subject interests me because throughout my time in school I was always interested in the science (health side) to things so I would always research different areas, print bits out and put them all in a file. Still, to this day I continue to research different illnesses, medications, and treatments and put them all into the same file. I am suitable for this course because I am very determined, well driven, committed to learning new things and willing to try anything if it means getting closer to my goal of becoming a nurse. My goal of becoming a Registered Nurse has long been encouraged by my personal interest in the profession and by my experience, previous education and achievements. These factors continue to motivate and inspire my desire to seek this degree and become a healthcare professional. I am a nurse because I want to provide that respect patient’s deserve while in a medical environment. Everyone deserves someone that has patience and takes time to go that extra mile for them especially when they require medical care, I wanted to be that nurse. I inspire to be the nurse that listens and cares for my patients efficiently.

Over the course, I have learned that all people are unique and have their own personal traits and qualities. What quality/characteristic do you value most in yourself because one person does not just simply fall into one category, but various categories. What is beautiful about all of us is that we all have diverse personalities, traits and qualities. I have learned that we should be proud of and embrace these unique qualities of ours. I know and I have been told that I am a kind and sympathetic person, because I love to help people and put a smile on their faces. Even when someone is being rude, I try to "kill them with kindness" in return. I used the quote: "Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul". I chose to use this quote because I adore it and I go by it. What matters most is in the inside, not on the outside. I think people sometimes, even me, get too caught up and try too hard to look beautiful, but they don’t focus on personality. The way I feel having this quality/characteristic will help you in your life journey by I am intelligent. Intelligent means someone who has the ability to think, reason, and learn. People are intelligent and smart because they want to learn and succeed in life. I also think I am smart because I have the ability to acquire knowledge. I believe in order to do well in life people should be motivated to learn and do well in school. Ambitious and positive expresses who I am. Ambitious means someone who has the desire to achieve something, determined, and motivated. Positive means someone who maintains to be true, encouraging and helpful. People are ambitious and positive because they are always optimistic. When there is a problem to be solved I always try to look at the bright side instead of all the negative things. This helps me because I feel better about myself. I am energetic and adventuresome. Energetic means someone who is active, full of life, and bouncy. Adventuresome means someone who likes to take risks, is carefree, and daring. People who are energetic and adventuresome are fun to be around and that is why I have adapted to an adventurous quality. For example someone who is adventuresome is never afraid of taking risks and they always have fun.

With nursing being constantly in high demand, people ask me why I still want to become a nurse when there are already so many of them. I think that the world could always use more registered nurses who genuinely care for people, and I believe that I am a person who can bring that specific quality to the table. I was inspired to become a practitioner because of my mother, Gloria. When she was diagnosed with diabetes years ago. I want to cultivate the same compassion she showed toward me. This is the kind of medical practitioner I want to become. Apart from the fact that nurses are always in high demand in most cities, pursue nursing because it is a great way to help people in a way that changes their lives for the better. Whether children or the elderly, this role allows you to connect with people from different backgrounds and all walks of life. Be warned, however, that this is often a thankless profession. You may find yourself bogged down with routines and patient cases, especially during peak seasons. But you should know that the opportunity to offer the best possible care for the patients who come under your wing makes the long hours and frustrations worth it. I can’t deny that this field is laden with difficulties, and oftentimes, the work goes unnoticed or is dismissed as a simple list that needs to be checked off every day. But I have a passion for helping people through my skill, and I believe that the best way to apply it is to pursue nursing. One of the benefits of having nursing skills is the ability to care for your own family at home from a place of expertise. It is good to have a professional available to administer first aid in the case of a family emergency, even before the ambulance arrives. Just having a practitioner in the family can be a comforting thing, especially when going on trips or doing physical activities. Knowing that there is someone there who knows what to do in a medical emergency is reassuring. Another good thing about being a registered practitioner is that you get to form friendships with a variety of people – from the doctors you work with to other healthcare staff and patients and families. I choose nursing because of the opportunity to make a huge difference in patients’ lives. I believe that it’s what makes it a rewarding career.
