Hello there! My name is Soraya Diaz Bueso, and I am currently a Bachelor's Social Work junior at Adelphi University. My high school experience was a tough one, and I found myself experiencing very intensive emotions throughout the years. Being introduced to my high school's social worker was a decision that changed the trajectory of my future. My high school social worker helped me through obstacles by being a source of constant support. Because of her I grew a passion for the social work career. As of now I passionately work alongside students in an after school program, providing them a space of support and kindness. I advocate for the rights of specific population groups that mean a lot to me such as immigration and women's rights. I study passionately about the future aid I can provide to various people. My decision to pursue social work has helped me find my passion in, not only being a source of help to communities, but also being a body that is willing to listen to others.
