Hi! My name is Sophie Bird and ever since I was in the kindergarten classroom I have known I want to be a doctor! I have worked hard my Jr High and Highschool career. I am in honors classes, will graduate with high honors, being in our drama department as a student director and actress, in the band as the first clarinet along with pep-band, in National Honors Society, have been in 4-H since I was seven, and have served as a secretary for the Benton Busy Bees 4-H Club, have ran cross country, played on our school's softball team as catcher and pitch, I have taken sciences and math that are not required for graduation, and have to lead a Sunday school class for toddlers, I fill communion trays every Sunday morning for my church, and I have helped or ran multiple blood drives at my school, I also run my own hand-made leather business and do custom orders, all while keeping a 3.9 and higher GPA. Time management is a great skill of mine! I am ever so ready to start and amazing college career to fulfill my dream of helping other people!

In memory of Dante, I would like to say my condolences. Thank you for even considering me.
Hi! My name is Sophie Bird and I go to Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Air, Kansas. I will be graduating in May of 2023 and will be graduating with High Honors, NHS membership, the American Red Cross Red Cord, and a few other things. Throughout my life, I have been involved in many, many, many different service projects and organizations. Through an origination named One Spark in Kansas, I have helped in feeding the homeless and in donations. Through my church, I have taught VBS classes for toddlers and also have taught a Sunday School class for them in my church I have also when to His Helping Hands and have cleaned a building for them a few different times. I am also in my school's NHS program and help organize, lead, and run our school's blood drives. I also volunteer in our drama productions. Not only am I on stage, but I also am a student director for our Jr High, which is a volunteer position.
What I am probably the most proud of though, is a class my school has which is called Honors Bible. To get into this class, you have to be one of the top in your class, complete and essay that would be reviewed, and have and A in your previous Bible classes. I was lucky enough to be one of the eight selected. The work that this class does in incredible. One of my most harped on events that we do is named S.E.W, or Spiritual Emphasis Week. As a class, we will take our 7th-12th grade and divide them into rooms, vans, and plan activities for that period of time. We take the groups in chunks, so it is 7th and 8th, 9th and 10th, then finally, 11th and 12th. It is a bunch of work, but definitely worth it in the end when I get to see the smiling faces all around. The honors Bible Class also does an event called Valagrams, these are valentines that people can send each other on Valentine's Day. We as a class have to plan a budget, make prices, schedule, make charts, handle money, tag, sell, and deliver them with the help of the NHS (which I am also in) to the school. The happy faces of all the people make it worth it though!
I dream of being a doctor, I have since I was little. My mom is a nurse at Rock Regional Hospital and her father ( my grandfather) was a cardiologist, so I have been around the medical field for my entire life. I have ridden along with EMS workers and will be certified as soon as I can be for this. Hopefully, all of my hard work and time management skills will help me to achieve my goals. Again, thank you for looking over my application and I send my condolences again. My prayers and blessings to you all! Thank you, Sophie Bird.
