I am someone who never dreamed of going to college, since school was always hard for me, and I dreaded the idea of sky high amounts of debt that may come along with it. My parents have never had much money at all, and as much as they might love me and my six siblings, they will never be able to afford to pay for our education after high school. Money, money, money. This is what kept me away from pursuing my dreams. However, in 2020 when all the world was turned upside down by unexpected shut downs and emotional turmoil, I decided life was too short to live in fear, and that it was time that I took a leap of faith. This leap was the leap to further my education. After taking this leap, I have learned loads about myself and the world by getting out there and encountering people and places I never knew before, and also by pursuing my dreams I have become a better person for others. For these reasons I wish to complete my education in getting my bachelors degree, but despite my faith, I still have low funds to pay for the remainder of my schooling. Even though I have been working ever since I was sixteen years old, and continued to work throughout my college career, it still is not enough to pay for my degree. This is why I would be a great candidate to select for scholarships. I work hard, and I appreciate the help I would be receiving, and plan to pay it back through community service and my work, once I complete my schooling.
