My name is Sophie Finch and I will be a first generation college student. I love interactive work and being able to work closely with people. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. Real Estate Sales is something that interests me because of one of my mother’s very close friends, who is a real estate agent. Her name is Angel Webb, and she’s one of the most kind and motherly women I know. During Hurricane Harvey in 2017, my parents had just put my house up for sale in Clear Lake, which I had lived in for 9 years. The day my parents signed the papers was the day Harvey hit. Sadly, we had to leave our home and live with neighbors for a week. Things there didn’t go as planned, so Angel welcomed us into her home for 19 days. That decision was completely selfless, and was a kindness we had not asked for. Her support for my family inspired me to give everybody the best opportunities for having a nice place to call home. Unlike our own realtor, who had let us down, Angel helped us in every way and it made me want to do the same through real estate. Another reason for wanting to be a realtor is my childhood. When me and my mom would be in the car driving, and see an “open house” sign on the side of the road, we would always go to that house and explore. I would admire the architecture and uniqueness to each and every home we went to, and the realtors showing the houses would always be friendly and helpful. My goal if I become a realtor is to find homes that fit each of my clients. I want to each person to have trust in me to find a home that they can truly call home, and love dearly. I want them to feel safe, and make memories with their friends and family within the walls of their new home. I love to make people happy and calm. Getting to work with different types of clients everyday would truly put so much joy in my heart, because I love meeting new people and getting insight on what they look for in a home, while another family might want something completely different. It’s almost like i’d get a sneak peak into how different and yet special each person in the world is. In addition to my interest in real estate, interior design is something I care about as well. In each home, you get to decorate it exactly how you want, which is what makes it so special, and makes it yours. I currently am enrolled in real estate classes at my school, Friendswood High School. I just completed my first year, and passed both my Principles 1 and Principles 2 course tests. What I loved about that class is that you can learn at your own pace and take notes specifically tailored to your own learning. Being able to discuss with peers not only the class itself, but what we love about the class made it all that much more meaningful.. Ever since my passion for real estate was ignited, it never went away. I was 9 years old when I came to this realization, and my goal hasn’t changed since. Whether I pursue commercial or residential sales, it doesn’t matter as long as I can make an impact. As long as I can make a difference in people’s lives, and give them amazing places to call home, my goal will be reached.
