I have done my best to act as a light and a leader in my community and in communities around me. To further illustrate this desire, I have taken every opportunity I have been presented with to get involved with the intent of promoting the welfare of those around me. I have volunteered for many church-based work days (including repairing a church inside and out, working at a lake facility, and more). I have worked with my school for many fundraising events. They blessed me with the the chance to help my hometown, Taylorville, through repairs after we were hit by a massive tornado. We focused on picking up debris around the town; it was extremely rewarding to see my town come back into shape. Though I have dedicated a fair amount of time to volunteering, I am not close to done. I am ecstatic to see what opportunities come about in the years to come!
