Bio

My goal throughout my life is to continue writing. My dream is to someday become a bestselling, or any kind, of author. That is a desire that I would do in my pasttime while I work as a screenwriter. Movies and TV shows have always played a massive role in my life and after watching behind the scenes videos about one of my favorites, I realised i wanted to spend my life working on those kinds of projects. On another note, I have been in colorguard for all 4 years of highschool. In college I plan to do another 4 and have even dreamt of participating in a drum corps. It is not out of the question for me to potentially become a coach in the future.

Our minds have thousands of memories and even more ideas that have accumulated throughout our years of life. Millions of thoughts, little or large, cross our minds and are swiftly sent to the depths where they will be forgotten. Though it may be fleeting, there is occasionally an inkling of an idea that escapes from the masses and comes to the front of your mind. With molding, that idea can become an outline, and that outline can become a chapter. Before you know it, all those chapters can become a story, your story. The concept that all renowned tales came from one person's mere idea, a thought they preserved and nourished until it became what we know today, inspired and continues to inspire me to continue writing. I love that something can start so small and then transition into a whole world, worked out through your mind and from your fingertips onto the keyboard. Your words can be given countless meanings. You could create a fantasy world with a forbidden love story between an elf and a dwarf in one story just to pivot to a murder mystery in space in the next. I am constantly left awestruck at the words of others and the way they transcend reality and take me to another world. That is what sparked my love of writing and what fuels me to continue. I want my writing to transport readers throughout the world, throughout the universe, even through worlds of fiction, all whilst still curled up in the comfort of their homes with a cup of tea at their side. Writing has enhanced the lives of all the people dearest to me and even some I barely am familiar with. My high school Creative Writing class enhanced writing not just for me, but for the other members as well. When I first joined the class, I, as well as many of my classmates, were very timid to share our writing with the class. In the class, we learned new writing techniques in both prose and poetry. The ability to critique each other positively and constructively was one of the most important skills we learned, and it enhanced our writing and relationships with each other. Writing not just sparked experience; it sparked our friendships. One of the mottos of our class was taken from the movie The Dead Poets Society, and it states, "Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for." We meet every Tuesday and share some of our favorite poems with each other and collaborate on our own personal projects. Now that this is my second, and final, year in the class, I feel ineffably lucky to have been able to watch the class that had become my family flourish in their writing and grow into their own skin. I watched each and every member of that class grow their skills. It is bittersweet knowing our class and society will have to disband once much of the class graduates. However, I feel confident that it is not the end of our story, and years down the road I will see their familiar names on the covers of books as a pass by.

I don't just plan to continue writing in college; I plan to write for the rest of my life. Throughout my college career, the classes I take will hone my writing. I want to grow my skill set in as many writing forms as I can, including poetry, prose (fiction), and screenwriting. My degree in Communications with a minor in Creative Writing will open numerous doors that will allow for a future filled with writing. Ideally, my dream is to become a screenwriter, assisting in the process of filmmaking. Similar to the books I adore, films also hold a special place in my heart and create worlds and plots from different minds collaborating. I feel that it would be an honor to be part of the making of beloved films. In my pastime, I desire to brainstorm and write until someday I develop a novel. I cling on to the shot-in-the-dark chance that it will become a bestseller and I can become one of the few lucky people to make a living off of her books. To become an author, sharing my stories with the world and making others love books as irrevocably as I did, is my true dream, and I plan to achieve it. My journey in college is vital to this future dream, and I am thrilled to grow my mind and skills and see what the future holds.
