Sheltonnae D. Nard Mr. Del Rosario CCR 25 April 2023 As Bryce W. Anderson once said, "I have found no matter what life throws at me, music softens the blow." I can personally relate to this statement. At just seventeen years old, I have already faced my fair share of challenges - battling depression, losing my mother, and watching my brother struggle for his life in a coma. Through it all, music has been my constant companion, comfort, and inspiration in some of the darkest moments of my life. I am passionate about the power of music to inspire positive change and make a difference in people's lives, which is why I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music. For me, music is more than just a hobby or a pastime - it is a calling, and I am committed to using my skills and passion to create music that touches people's hearts and makes a difference in the world. In the future, I want to be under a giant music label and rule the music industry with my music. As I grew up, I found that music had a profound impact on me. It was more than just a form of entertainment; it was a way for me to connect with my emotions and find peace in difficult times. I was drawn to music that spoke to people facing struggles like me, such as the music of Tupac. Tupac's music was raw and real, reflecting his own experiences and speaking to others who shared his struggles. I was particularly moved by songs like "Dear Mama," which spoke to me on a personal level. Despite our conflicts, my mother and I shared a love of music, and it became a way for us to connect and express ourselves. When my mother passed away, I turned to music to help me process my grief. It was then that I realized that I wanted to create music that could connect with others in the same way that Tupac's music had connected with me. I want to create music that speaks to people's experiences and emotions, and that can offer a sense of comfort and hope. In conclusion, music has been an integral part of my life, providing me with comfort, inspiration, and a sense of purpose. Through the challenges I have faced, music has been a constant source of strength and hope, helping me to find meaning and resilience in difficult times. As I pursue my Bachelor of Arts in Music, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead - the chance to learn from experienced musicians and educators, collaborate with fellow students, and explore new genres and styles of music. Ultimately, my goal is to use my skills and passion to create music that makes a positive impact on people's lives, inspiring them to find their strength and resilience in the face of adversity. I believe that music has the power to change the world, and I am excited to be a part of that change.
