Hi! I’m Sofia Suarez Aguila. I’m originally from Cuba, grew up in Chile, and moved to the U.S. in 2023. I’m now studying Aerospace Engineering at UCF, finally getting to chase the thing I’ve been obsessed with since I was a kid staring at planes and telescopes. My path into STEM wasn’t picture perfect. There were plenty of moments where I felt completely lost, switching countries, systems, and trying to catch up. But every messy part of it made me tougher. I learned to keep going even when a class felt impossible or when nothing clicked the first (or fifth) time. And somewhere in all of that, I realized that being curious and being kind matter just as much as being “good at math.” I’m excited to keep learning, build cool things, and hopefully make the spaces I’m in a little kinder while I do it.
