My name is Sofia Scicchitano, and I’m a female artist inspired by the natural world. Art has been my way of connecting with the beauty around me, especially through watercolor and oil paints. I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature, and it’s that sense of awe that drives me to recreate the landscapes I encounter, whether from my travels or the quiet beauty of my own backyard. One of my favorite pieces is a landscape painting of a forest. I aimed to capture the tranquility and wonder a forest has, showcasing the beauty in quiet experiences we often overlook. This piece is significant to me as it reflects my artistic journey and my desire to learn and grow. Currently, I'm a student at Everett Community College and will transfer to Western Washington University next year to pursue a double major in Art and Art Education. I aim to inspire others to find their creative voices, using art as a tool for self-expression and personal growth. I believe in the power of art to unite people and celebrate diversity. There are moments when the world feels at its most alive, and for me, those moments always happen when I’m surrounded by nature. Growing up, I found solace in the outdoors, always feeling a deep connection to the earth beneath my feet and the sky above.
