Hi Everyone, My name is Snjezana Macy Foday-Kailie, but I go by Macy. I am from Sierra Leone and I moved to the states about a year ago. My dream is to become a healthcare worker. As an immigrant and a first generation college student I am fortunate to have an opportunity to be here and purchase one of my biggest desire. My life goal is one day to be a Doctor in Nursing Science, alongside helping people in the medical field as much as possible until I get there. I am passionate about caring for or helping people in every possible way. Growing up, I have always loved offering a hand to people. Throughout elementary and high school, I have worked towards being a Doctor (medical doctor). However, in my last few years of high school, I realized I preferred being a nurse because as much as doctors lead the medical teams and have more qualifications, Nurses are the heart of the medical team. You connect more with the patients, which helps you care for them better. Even in fatal situations, assisting patients in limited ways, possible, can still be significant. The Bible says, "love each other as I have loved you," showing love and care for people should not be limited to just friends and family; I am happy I will get to show my love for others this way, and I am positively sure I will make a great nurse and DNP.
