I am a freshman at Kean University majoring in Computer Science – Cybersecurity. Earning a scholarship will make such a difference for me as I will be able to maximize my college experience through service-learning, volunteer opportunities, athletics and internships. I appreciate scholarships and take great satisfaction in the fact that the scholarships mean less of a financial burden on myself and my parents. With the pandemic during the past 2 years I have maintained a 4.021 GPA while being a 4 year 3 sport (Cross Country, Winter Track/Field and Softball) athlete and volunteering on a weekly basis. I continue my high-performing academic achievements with self-motivation with an insatiable appetite to learn and a strong desire to make a positive difference both academically and athletically. I am focused and a true ancillary due to my natural leadership abilities. A member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Math Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. My compassion is also evidenced by how I choose to spend my limited free time volunteering at the Zani’s Furry Friends animal adoption center and local food pantry. My passion is playing softball. As a pitcher, I am assertive and competitive. My tenacity is mentoring the younger athletes in my community is truly inspiring. I am excited and looking forward to pitching for the Kean Softball team. Knowing that people care so much about students like myself that they fund scholarships makes me want to prove my worth and “pay it forward in the future.”
