My name is Siya Patel, and I am a junior at Penn State University majoring in Premedicine with a minor in Psychology. From a young age, I have been fascinated by the human body, not just how it works, but how it can heal, adapt, and thrive under the right care. My interest in healthcare started with curiosity but has developed into a commitment to becoming a physician who can improve both the physical and emotional well-being of patients. I have always been drawn to roles that allow me to work directly with people in moments that matter most. Training to become an EMT has been a particularly formative experience. This role has taught me not only the technical skills required to respond to emergencies but also the importance of remaining calm, compassionate, and decisive under pressure. In those high-stakes moments, I am reminded of why I want to enter medicine to be there when someone needs help the most, and to provide not just treatment but also reassurance and human connection. Beyond emergency care, my volunteer work with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Cycle Relief Management person has exposed me to the challenges of healthcare access and disaster preparedness. I have worked directly with individuals and families facing crises, and these experiences have strengthened my belief that medicine must go beyond treating illness it must also address the systemic and situational factors that affect health outcomes. Academically, I have pursued opportunities that deepen my understanding of human health from multiple perspectives. I have research experience through ASTIR and have engaged in projects ranging from neuroscience to nutrition. My interest in neurology stems from a fascination with the brain’s complexity and its role in both physical and mental health. I am equally drawn to the field of human nutrition, as I believe that preventative care and lifestyle factors are critical in improving long-term health outcomes. The intersection of these two areas how nutrition influences neurological health is one I hope to explore more in my future career. My studies in psychology have also shaped my approach to medicine. Understanding human behavior, thought processes, and emotional health is essential for building trust with patients and providing holistic care. I have seen how a patient’s mental and emotional state can impact their recovery, and I want to be a physician who treats the whole person, not just the disease. I am fortunate to have a strong support system that has encouraged my growth and exploration in the medical field. My family has always emphasized the importance of service and lifelong learning, values that align closely with the responsibilities of a healthcare provider. I also look up to my cousins, many of whom are physicians, and who have shown me the rewards and challenges of the profession. Looking forward, my goal is to attend medical school and ultimately work as a physician in a specialty that allows me to integrate my interests in neurology, nutrition, and patient-centered care. I envision a career where I can balance clinical practice with research, contributing to medical knowledge while also making a direct difference in the lives of my patients. Medicine is more than a career path for me, it is a calling to serve, to learn, and to lead with empathy. Through my academic studies, training, and volunteer experiences, I have built a foundation that I am eager to expand. I am committed to continuing this journey, and I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to a field that has the power to transform lives every day.

Embarking on the journey of education is a profound experience, one that intertwines academic pursuits with personal growth. However, this path is not always smooth, and for many, the ebb and flow of mental health can significantly impact both academic performance and personal life. As a student, I have navigated the between mental well-being and the demands of school, recognizing the importance of prioritizing mental health to foster a balanced and fulfilling life. The intersection of mental health and academic performance is a nuanced landscape, where the two intricately influence each other. The pressures of assignments, exams, and societal expectations can sometimes take a toll on mental well-being, leading to stress, anxiety, or even more profound mental health challenges. Acknowledging the importance of mental health in both academic and personal realms, I began implementing intentional steps to prioritize my well-being. These steps form a holistic approach to mental health, addressing not only academic pressures but also nurturing my personal life. Recognizing the need for balance, I have learned to set realistic goals and boundaries. The importance of a support system cannot be overstated. Whether it's reaching out to friends, family, or professional counselors, sharing the burden of academic stress and personal challenges has been instrumental in alleviating mental health struggles. Incorporating mindfulness practices such as meditation and deep breathing exercises into my daily routine has proven effective in managing stress and promoting mental clarity. These practices serve as anchors, grounding me in the present moment and fostering a sense of calm. Recognizing the symbiotic relationship between physical and mental health, I prioritize regular physical activity. Whether it's a walk, a yoga session, or engaging in sports, physical activity serves as a powerful tool to release stress and enhance overall well-being. By weaving these strategies into my daily life, I have cultivated a more resilient approach to the challenges of academia and personal growth. While the journey towards optimal mental health is ongoing, I have come to understand that prioritizing mental well-being is not a luxury but a fundamental requirement for a fulfilling and successful academic and personal life. In conclusion, the intricate relationship between mental health, academic performance, and personal life is a dynamic interplay that necessitates intentional care. By acknowledging the significance of mental well-being, implementing proactive strategies, and seeking support when needed, students can navigate the academic landscape with resilience, fostering not only academic success but also a holistic sense of fulfillment in their personal lives.

Life is an unpredictable journey filled with unexpected twists, and some of the most memorable moments emerge from the quirkiest corners. One such uproarious tale from my life revolves around what I fondly refer to as "The Great Cookie Catastrophe," an incident that turned my humble kitchen into a scene straight out of a slapstick comedy. It all began on a lazy Sunday afternoon when the desire for homemade cookies struck with an intensity that could only be described as a sweet tooth awakening. Armed with an overconfident belief in my culinary skills, I decided to embark on a baking adventure. Little did I know that this escapade would transform into a sidesplitting comedy of errors. The recipe seemed straightforward enough, or so I thought. Flour, sugar, butter – the usual suspects – were assembled on the kitchen counter like a well-behaved cast awaiting instructions. I dove into the task with a gusto that would make any novice baker proud. The first steps were a breeze; mixing dry ingredients, creaming the butter, and adding sugar were accomplished with ease. The intoxicating aroma of anticipation filled the kitchen as the promise of delectable cookies hung in the air. Here's where the laughter-inducing chaos commenced. In my enthusiasm, I misread the recipe and added not one, not two, but three times the required amount of baking soda. Unbeknownst to me, I had unintentionally turned my cookie dough into a potential leavening agent for a small village. Oblivious to this miscalculation, I forged ahead with the cookie-making process. The dough, now resembling a bubbly science experiment gone awry, was scooped onto the baking sheet with optimistic naivety. Into the oven, they went, their fate sealed by my baking overzealousness. Little did I anticipate the comical transformation awaiting them in the heat. As the minutes ticked away, an odd odor began wafting through the kitchen – a peculiar blend of burnt sugar and chemical reactions. The cookies, far from the golden-brown perfection I envisioned, emerged from the oven as fluffy, misshapen monstrosities that bore a closer resemblance to alien life forms than the chewy delights I had envisioned. Undeterred by their appearance, I took a bite. The taste was an unexpected blend of sweetness and an unmistakable tanginess from the excess baking soda. My initial shock gave way to uncontrollable laughter as I realized the gravity of my baking blunder. In that moment, I had unwittingly created a batch of cookies that could serve as the punchline to a baking-themed joke. The comedy continued as I shared my creation with unsuspecting friends and family. Their bewildered expressions upon tasting the peculiar concoction mirrored my own initial shock. Laughter echoed through the room as we collectively embraced the hilarity of the situation. The Great Cookie Catastrophe became an instant legend in my social circles, a story that would be retold with peals of laughter on countless occasions. Reflecting on this kitchen calamity, I recognize the beauty of finding humor in our own missteps. Life's most amusing moments often arise from the unexpected and imperfect aspects of our endeavors; embrace the comical side of life, finding joy in the absurdity of mistakes. In the grand narrative of our lives, it's these quirky anecdotes that add color to the canvas. So, the next time I find myself in the kitchen armed with a whisk and a recipe, I'll approach it with a dash of humor, a sprinkle of humility, and a whole lot of laughter. After all, life's sweetest moments are often found in the most unexpected batches.

Historically, women have faced barriers and stereotypes that perpetuate the notion that STEM is a male-dominated realm. However, this challenge serves as a catalyst for my commitment to shatter these stereotypes and pave the way for more women to enter and thrive in STEM disciplines. By actively participating and excelling in these fields, I hope to contribute to the normalization of women in STEM, challenging preconceptions and fostering an environment where talent knows no gender. In addition to breaking barriers, my aspiration is to build bridges – bridges that connect diverse perspectives, experiences, and talents in the pursuit of scientific and technological excellence. Diversity in STEM is not just a matter of representation; it is a catalyst for innovation. Diverse teams bring forth a multitude of ideas, approaches, and problem-solving strategies that enrich the fabric of scientific inquiry and technological development. By actively promoting diversity and inclusion, I hope to be a bridge builder, creating spaces where individuals from all backgrounds can collaborate, learn from each other, and collectively contribute to advancements that benefit society as a whole. The transformative power of STEM extends far beyond laboratories and computer screens; it has the potential to address some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity. Whether it is developing sustainable technologies, creating accessible healthcare solutions, or using data science to inform policy decisions, STEM can be a force for positive change. As a woman in STEM, my goal is to harness the tools and knowledge at my disposal to contribute meaningfully to projects and initiatives that have a lasting and positive impact on society. Furthermore, I'm committed to inspiring and mentoring the next generation of women in STEM. Representation matters, and by sharing my experiences, challenges, and triumphs, I hope to empower young girls to envision themselves as scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and technologists. My decision to pursue STEM is rooted in a passion for exploration, a commitment to breaking gender barriers, and a desire to make a difference. As a woman in STEM, I recognize the challenges that lie ahead, but I am fueled by the belief that diversity is the cornerstone of progress. By actively participating, building bridges, and leveraging technology for social impact, I hope to contribute to a future where STEM is truly inclusive, where women are not just participants but leaders and innovators, and where the collective pursuit of knowledge benefits all of humanity. Through my journey, I aspire not only to excel in my chosen field but to leave a legacy of empowerment, inspiration, and positive change for generations to come.

Spider-Man, the iconic web-slinger, has swung through the streets of New York and into the hearts of audiences in various cinematic incarnations over the years. From Tobey Maguire's earnest portrayal to Andrew Garfield's charismatic rendition, each actor has left an indelible mark on the beloved superhero. However, it is Tom Holland who stands tall as my favorite Spider-Man, weaving a web of authenticity, humor, and youthful exuberance that captures the essence of the character like never before. Tom Holland's journey as Spider-Man began with his debut in "Captain America: Civil War," and from the moment he swung into action, it was evident that a new era of the web-slinger had arrived. What sets Holland apart is his ability to seamlessly embody the duality of Peter Parker's life – the ordinary high school student and the extraordinary superhero. His portrayal strikes a delicate balance, ensuring that both aspects of the character feel authentic and interconnected. One of the standout qualities of Holland's Spider-Man is his youthfulness and relatability. Unlike his predecessors, Holland was cast at a younger age, allowing him to authentically portray a high school student navigating the challenges of adolescence while juggling the responsibilities of being a superhero. This youthful energy breathes new life into the character, making Spider-Man not just a seasoned crime-fighter but a coming-of-age hero grappling with the complexities of growing up. Holland's Peter Parker is endearing in his vulnerability. His struggles with school, friendships, and romance are depicted with a sincerity that resonates with audiences. Whether facing the everyday challenges of teenage life or the monumental task of saving the world, Holland's Spider-Man is a character audiences can empathize with. Spider-Man, in the comics, is known for his quips and witty banter, and Holland effortlessly brings this comedic element to life. His quick-witted remarks and playful interactions during intense battles not only inject levity into the narrative but also pay homage to the character's comic book roots. This humor becomes an integral part of Spider-Man's identity, showcasing the character's resilience and wit in the face of adversity. The integration of Spider-Man into the larger MCU narrative allows for richer storytelling and dynamic character interactions. The mentorship with Tony Stark/Iron Man, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., adds layers to Peter Parker's growth, creating a compelling mentor-mentee dynamic that enriches the character's arc. The interconnectedness of the MCU provides a broader canvas for Spider-Man's adventures, enhancing the overall cinematic experience. Holland's acrobatic prowess and the fluidity with which he swings through the city contribute to the authenticity of the character's movements. Whether in the midst of a high-flying action sequence or navigating the challenges of New York's skyline, Holland's Spider-Man captures the agility and grace associated with the web-slinger in the comics. In essence, Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man encapsulates the evolution of the character in a contemporary context. His ability to seamlessly blend vulnerability, humor, and superhero prowess defines a Spider-Man for a new generation. While Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield brought their own strengths to the role, Holland's interpretation feels like a perfect synthesis of the classic comic book Spider-Man and a fresh, modern take that resonates with a diverse audience. In conclusion, as the web-slinger swings into new adventures and faces ever-evolving challenges, Tom Holland's Spider-Man stands as my favorite embodiment of the iconic character. His youthful exuberance, relatable struggles, humor, and seamless integration into the MCU make him a Spider-Man for the ages. In the tapestry of Spider-Man portrayals on the big screen, Holland's contribution shines as a vibrant and authentic representation that captures the enduring spirit of everyone's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

In the realm of gaming, where pixels dance on the screen and controllers become conduits of shared adventures, few experiences match the joy of playing Nintendo games with friends or family. Among the plethora of titles that have graced the iconic console, my favorite game for co-op play is Super Smash Bros. It's not merely a game; it's a frenzied symphony of iconic characters, chaotic battles, and moments that resonate long after the controllers are set down. Super Smash Bros., with its roster of beloved Nintendo characters, offers a unique blend of chaos and camaraderie that transforms multiplayer sessions into unforgettable journeys. The appeal lies not just in the skillful maneuvers and strategic attacks but in the shared laughter, competitive banter, and the camaraderie that arises from the unpredictable nature of each match. One memorable moment from a Super Smash Bros. session solidifies its place as my top choice for co-op play. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and the living room was abuzz with the excitement of impending battles. The familiar jingle signaled the start of our multiplayer session, and the screen erupted in a kaleidoscope of colors as the character selection screen appeared. As players chose their iconic avatars, each with unique abilities and signature moves, the anticipation in the room reached a fever pitch. I opted for Mario, a timeless choice with an array of versatile attacks. The stage was set, and our chosen characters stood ready for the chaos that would ensue. The match unfolded in a flurry of action, with characters soaring through the air, launching powerful attacks, and dodging incoming strikes. The intensity of the battle mirrored the competitive spirit in the room, yet it was the shared experience of unpredictability that made it special. In the midst of the chaos, an unexpected turn of events occurred. My character, Mario, found himself teetering on the edge of the stage, one hit away from being launched into oblivion. Sensing an opportunity, my friend unleashed a powerful smash attack, aiming to secure victory with a triumphant knockout. However, in a split-second maneuver, I executed Mario's Up Special move, propelling him back onto the stage with a defiant leap. The room erupted in a mixture of laughter and gasps as my miraculous recovery defied the expected outcome. The tables had turned, and the once-confident opponent found themselves vulnerable to a counterattack. Mario, imbued with newfound resilience, seized the moment and launched a series of attacks, securing an unexpected victory. What made this moment truly special wasn't just the dramatic turn of events or the virtual victory; it was the shared experience of laughter and surprise that followed. In that split second of Mario's miraculous recovery, the competitive tension dissolved into a shared celebration of the unpredictable nature of Super Smash Bros. Each player, whether victor or vanquished, reveled in the joy of the unexpected, fostering a sense of camaraderie that transcended the pixels on the screen. Super Smash Bros. solidifies its place as my favorite co-op game not just for its engaging gameplay but for the moments of shared joy, laughter, and surprise that arise from its unpredictable battles. In the world of Nintendo memories, this game stands as a testament to the enduring power of shared adventures, forging nostalgic bonds that linger long after the controllers are set down. Whether engaging in fierce battles or navigating the chaos of multiplayer mayhem, Super Smash Bros. remains a timeless canvas for the creation of cherished memories in the vibrant world of Nintendo gaming.

In the eerie realm of Hawkins, where supernatural threats lurk around every corner, the tapestry of friendship, courage, and camaraderie is interwoven with the resilience of characters who have faced the extraordinary. If given the chance to assemble a squad to confront a new supernatural threat, the choices become both thrilling and strategic. My ideal trio from Stranger Things would comprise Chief Jim Hopper, Eleven, and Dustin Henderson, forming a powerhouse team uniquely equipped to navigate the shadows and confront the unknown. At the helm of this formidable squad stands Chief Jim Hopper, the grizzled yet compassionate guardian of Hawkins. Hopper's experience as the town's chief of police equips the squad with a tactical mind and a strategic approach to facing supernatural threats. His history of confronting the bizarre happenings in Hawkins, from the Upside Down to rogue government experiments, makes him a seasoned leader. Hopper's unwavering determination, combat skills, and protective instincts transform him into the squad's backbone, ensuring a steady hand in the face of the unknown. Hopper's resilience and ability to adapt to challenges of Hawkins make him an invaluable asset. His unwritten rulebook, learned through confronting previous supernatural threats, serves as a guide for the squad, navigating the thin line between the real and the extraordinary. Hopper's leadership is not just about facing physical adversaries but also about navigating the complexities of human relationships in the midst of supernatural turmoil. No supernatural threat could withstand the might of Eleven, the enigmatic girl with telekinetic powers. Eleven's inclusion in the squad introduces an element of otherworldly strength and resilience that tips the scales in favor of the Hawkins defenders. Her ability to tap into the mysterious energies of the Upside Down and wield telekinesis makes her an unparalleled force against any supernatural foe. Eleven's journey from a lab experiment to a formidable ally has been marked by her growth in understanding and controlling her powers. Her telekinetic prowess, combined with her fierce determination and loyalty to her friends, elevates her to a pivotal role in the squad. The interplay between Hopper's guidance and Eleven's supernatural abilities creates a dynamic synergy, bridging the gap between the known and the uncharted territories of Hawkins. Every squad needs its resident genius, and Dustin Henderson's inclusion ensures a balance of wit, ingenuity, and comic relief. While lacking superhuman abilities, Dustin compensates with his unparalleled intelligence, technical skills, and infectious humor. His love for science, coupled with an innate curiosity about the supernatural, makes him the brains behind the squad's investigative efforts. His experiences with the Demogorgon, his proficiency with technology, and his penchant for creating makeshift solutions in the heat of battle make him an indispensable member of the squad. Dustin's ability to bridge the realms of science and the supernatural adds a layer of complexity to the team's approach in unraveling the mysteries that threaten Hawkins. In conclusion, the formation of a squad to face a new supernatural threat in Hawkins requires a careful selection of individuals with distinct strengths. Chief Jim Hopper's leadership and strategic mind, Eleven's telekinetic force of nature, and Dustin Henderson's intellectual prowess and humor create a synergy that encapsulates the spirit of Stranger Things. Together, this power trio embodies the resilience, courage, and camaraderie that define the series, standing as a beacon of hope against the unknown forces that loom over Hawkins. With Hopper leading the charge, Eleven unleashing her supernatural might, and Dustin navigating the mysteries with wit and humor, the squad is poised to confront the supernatural head-on, armed with the resilience that has defined Hawkins in the face of the extraordinary.

In the expansive virtual realm of Minecraft, where the only limit is one's imagination, there exists a multitude of activities and goals that beckon players into a world of creativity and endless possibilities. Yet, amidst the myriad choices, there is often one particular activity that holds a special place in a player's heart, an aspect that becomes a source of joy, satisfaction, and nostalgia. For me, that cherished aspect is the art of exploration and discovery, an endeavor that resonates with me deeply, shaping my Minecraft experience into a journey of both self-discovery and endless fascination. Minecraft is a vast and diverse world, with biomes ranging from lush forests to daunting deserts, snowy tundras to expansive oceans. The simple act of exploring this pixelated expanse, brimming with surprises and hidden treasures, is what captivates me the most. The sense of uncharted beauty and the thrill of stumbling upon breathtaking landscapes or hidden caverns evoke a genuine sense of awe. In a world where the boundaries are set only by the horizon, exploration becomes a form of meditation, a way to lose myself in the pixelated beauty and endless wonder of Minecraft. While the primary allure of Minecraft is often associated with creativity through building, mining, and crafting, I find that exploration is, in itself, a form of creativity. The landscape is a canvas waiting to be explored and appreciated, and every discovery feels like a stroke on that canvas. The joy of finding a rare biome, stumbling upon a naturally occurring structure, or witnessing the sunrise from a mountaintop is akin to discovering a hidden masterpiece within the game's algorithmically generated world. It's a reminder that creativity in Minecraft extends beyond what we build; it's embedded in the very fabric of the world we navigate. The love for exploration in Minecraft is not solely rooted in the pixels and polygons of the virtual world but also in the memories and personal connections forged during the journey. Each unique landscape and structure becomes a backdrop to shared adventures with friends or solitary moments of reflection. The nostalgia associated with certain biomes or landmarks carries the weight of personal history within the game. It's a testament to the transformative power of exploration, where every hill, valley, or ocean carries the echoes of past adventures and friendships, creating a rich tapestry of memories that make each journey uniquely special. No matter how seasoned a player may be, there is always the potential for unexpected encounters, rare discoveries, or awe-inspiring vistas. Whether it's stumbling upon a hidden village, discovering a naturally occurring structure, or encountering a rare biome for the first time, the game constantly surprises and delights. This unpredictability fuels the sense of excitement and curiosity, turning every journey into an anticipation-filled quest for the unknown. It's an opportunity to escape the demands of the real world and immerse oneself in a serene environment where time seems to slow down. The rhythmic footsteps, the ambient sounds, and the gentle hum of the virtual world create a meditative space where the mind can wander freely, unburdened by objectives or deadlines. While Minecraft presents a plethora of activities and goals, the art of exploration holds a special place in my heart. The joy of discovering uncharted landscapes, the creativity inherent in navigating the world, and the nostalgia tied to personal connections collectively contribute to an experience that goes beyond the pixels of the screen. Exploration in Minecraft becomes a journey of self-discovery, a form of creativity, and a source of endless fascination that continues to captivate and inspire with every step into the unknown.

In the comedic universe of "The Office," where each character is a unique blend of quirks and idiosyncrasies, one figure emerges as a reflection of ambition, eccentricity, and unapologetic individuality — Dwight Schrute. As I reflect on the characters of Dunder Mifflin, it becomes apparent that Dwight resonates with me in ways both amusing and profound. His unwavering dedication to success, peculiar worldview, and unapologetic pursuit of his passions mirror aspects of my own personality. Dwight Schrute, portrayed by Rainn Wilson, is the Assistant to the Regional Manager at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. His character is a tapestry of contradictions — a beet farmer with dreams of martial arts glory, a zealous enforcer of office rules with a penchant for bizarre schemes. At the heart of Dwight's character lies an unyielding commitment to success. His competitive spirit is both comical and admirable, embodying the belief that excellence in one's pursuits is non-negotiable. Dwight's passion for sales and his aspiration to climb the corporate ladder, no matter how outlandish his methods may be, reflect the universal desire to achieve and excel in one's chosen field. As someone who values ambition and the pursuit of goals, Dwight becomes a character with whom I can resonate on a personal level. Beyond the comedic exaggeration, Dwight Schrute serves as a reminder that embracing one's eccentricities is not only acceptable but can be a source of strength. His unapologetic pursuit of his passions, from beet farming to martial arts, defies societal norms and expectations. In a world often quick to conform, Dwight's character challenges the notion that success and individuality are mutually exclusive. It prompts reflection on the importance of staying true to one's authentic self in the pursuit of professional goals. "The Office" has played a significant role in shaping my sense of humor, and Dwight Schrute is a linchpin in this transformative process. Dwight's famous quotes and peculiar worldview have become touchstones that add a layer of comedic richness to my own perspective. Moreover, Dwight's character contributes to the show's satirical exploration of workplace dynamics. His ambitious and authoritarian persona, juxtaposed with the more laid-back attitudes of his colleagues, highlights the tensions and absurdities inherent in office environments. Dwight's interactions with Jim Halpert, in particular, provide comedic gold while offering insights into the intricacies of workplace relationships. The dynamic between the overzealous enforcer of rules and the affable prankster creates a microcosm of the power dynamics, alliances, and clashes that characterize professional life. Dwight's role as the assistant to Michael Scott, the bumbling regional manager, showcases the complexities of leadership and mentorship. Despite his eccentricities, Dwight is a loyal and competent assistant, often finding himself torn between loyalty to his boss and his own ambitions. This dynamic prompts reflections on the challenges of leadership, the impact of mentorship on individual growth, and the delicate balance between ambition and organizational loyalty. In conclusion, Dwight Schrute's character has become more than a source of laughter; he's a mirror reflecting ambition, eccentricity, and the pursuit of individuality. As I traverse my own professional journey, "The Office" has played a crucial role in shaping my sense of humor and providing insights into workplace dynamics. Dwight's character, with his unapologetic pursuit of success, unique worldview, and comedic presence, serves as a reminder that the pursuit of professional goals need not sacrifice individuality. Through the lens of Dwight Schrute, "The Office" has become a humorous guide, offering laughter, reflections, and a celebration of the delightful eccentricities that make every workplace, much like Dunder Mifflin, a unique and amusing tapestry of personalities.

I want to live my passion by traveling to a new foreign country every year and exposing myself to humanity, appreciation, understanding, and respect for different points of view and ways of life.

I like to fix things. Yet as long as I can remember, I have had one truly unfixable problem that has haunted me all my life: my height. Being short became a troublesome hindrance in middle school when we got assigned lockers by height. It came as no surprise that my sixth-grade self got stuck with the bottom locker. "Sorry, I didn't see you there," the top girl apologized. I bluntly replied, "No worries." She would "accidentally" slam her door on my head, leaving a bump on my forehead. Her hefty textbooks would fall to the ground, but this was nothing unusual. Seventh grade was no exception and was as tortuous as the previous year. I refused to accept that the situation was going to remain the same for the remainder of my school years. Why was it fair that the genetically favored people got the top lockers while the vertically challenged had to suffer? I could not let history repeat itself. My elaborate plan began the evening before the first day of eighth grade. I discovered that the average eighth grader's height at my school was 63 inches. My height was precisely 61 inches. I had to be exactly 2 inches taller to get a top locker. I rummaged through my wardrobe. "I found it!" I shrieked, as I found the perfect pair of luscious platform heels that would make me 64 inches. Of course, there was a catch. One sole had ripped halfway off the heel. That did not deter me; I was already envisioning how these heels would grant me a top locker like all the tall students. I quickly got to work. First, I glued the shoes with my dad's hot glue gun, which resulted in burned fingertips and a thick coating of dried thermoplastic solid on the sole, which promptly tore the sole apart again. My attempt was futile. I didn't give up. I tried a few different approaches before rummaging through my dad's toolbox and finding an extra-strong, long-lasting product that was effortlessly bonded super glue. I cautiously examined a small piece of my shoe, and to my surprise, it appeared to hold. This was it. The next morning, I proudly entered school three inches taller. Not ten steps later, my right foot became weighed down by an anchor. The thick sole pushed out, and I sprained my ankle. I could barely walk. I slowly glanced down in horror, and I realized my mistake too late. The sound trailed behind me as I struggled toward the office in embarrassment. What could I have done differently? As I waited in the office lobby to call my mom to bring another pair of shoes, a thought appeared in my mind. That's it! Duct tape fixes everything. Years of experience from the Physics Olympics competition had taught me that duct tape fixes everything. Instead of calling home, I asked for some duct tape. The shiny gray strip held the last bits of my dignity. At least this would keep the heels together. Though I felt people's stares because I was wearing duct-taped shoes, my determination to get a top locker did not waver. Will my plan work? My heartbeat was out of my chest, and my palms were getting sweaty as my peers and I lined up in alphabetical order. There were many questions racing through my mind. Why does everybody look so much taller? I was so nervous, I strained my posture. Then the teacher grouped me with the taller kids; I got ecstatic. I finally got a top locker. My grand plan ended in victory.

Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. The mental health of students can affect their education, social life, and emotional well-being. Students struggling with their mental health may experience greater challenges throughout school and adulthood, while those not struggling may have a greater zest for their education, social experiences, and more. A healthy diet throughout life promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes, supports normal growth, development, and aging, helps to maintain healthy body weight, and reduces the risk of chronic disease, leading to overall health and well-being. As a student, I always try to maintain my mental, physical, and nutritional health while at school. School can be tough sometimes; it can become difficult to engage in sports and extracurricular activities and also find balance for school work. As I have grown older, I have come to understand that health is one of the most important things that is being neglected by many in this world. It means a lot to me to keep up my grades and participate in my extracurricular activities, but I know how to find a balance and some time to relax. To maintain my mental health, I try to read a book at least once a week. Reading helps me calm my mind and exercise my brain. I also listen to some music to keep my brain relaxed. I enjoy dancing and participating in Bollywood and ice dancing. I tend to find time to engage in my hobbies to keep up with my mental health. Our mental health impacts our physical health and overall well-being. Someone struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, or addiction can find it difficult to maintain focus or find motivation for tasks. I'm committed to eating a healthy diet, and I will not lie. I do eat sugary foods once in a while, but I know how to maintain my balance. Over the years, I have reduced my sugar intake. I'm a vegetarian, so I eat a lot of fruits and herbs daily. I drink a lot of water, which keeps me awake and hydrated. Moving my body and deep breathing also help me with my psychological health. In the summer, I go for walks in my neighborhood. In the winter, I work out in my basement every other day. I try to change my main focus on physical fitness each time I work out. I usually go for exercises that test my cardiovascular endurance. On weekends, however, I practice yoga, which improves my flexibility. I carry weights to build my muscular endurance. I complete fitness rotations every time I work out. Currently, I don't play any sports for my school, but I engage in fitness activities that help me maintain my physical health. Lastly, healthy nutrition helps you live longer. As I mentioned before, I'm a vegetarian, so I try to include many nutrients in my lifestyle. Good nutrition can nourish your body and help keep you healthy. They can reduce your risk of developing chronic diseases. Getting them through food ensures your body can absorb them properly. Try to eat a variety of foods to get different vitamins and minerals. Improved nutrition in schools leads to increased focus and attention, improved test scores and better classroom behavior. I have learned that a diet of healthy food helps with your ability to focus and symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage your weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen your bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Speak Life by Tobymac has spread an important message to me. Speaking life is about staying positive and making sure that the words you speak line up. Each and every word in this song has an important meaning. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. This song has made me realize that words have power. Their meaning crystallizes perceptions that shape our beliefs, drive our behavior, and ultimately, create our world. Their power arises from our emotional responses when we read, speak, or hear them. One of the quotes that stood out to me and made me want to change the way that I live is this: 'in every encounter we either give life or drain it, there is no neutral exchange.' When I read that quote, it made me want to think about the conversations that I have had throughout the day and it made me think about them differently. I want to 'speak life. While the person who originally spoke them may have been silenced, the words live on with a capacity to change the world through all those who embrace them. Additionally, words are more powerful than actions. With words you can influence someone into thinking something, it is the way we communicate and learn. Actions can cause physical pain to us and force us to undergo a certain circumstance but words can actually take over our body.

The best back-to-school tip is to eat a healthy breakfast. Breakfast is often called 'the most important meal of the day, and for good reason. Breakfast is good for you because it keeps you going through the day. It helps your mind think and concentrate. Breakfast is good nutrition for your soul. Breakfast is like filling your car with gas in the morning. As the name suggests, breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period. It replenishes your supply of glucose to boost your energy levels and alertness, while also providing other essential nutrients required for good health. You need to pay attention in your classes to successfully learn the material in the course. Eating a healthy breakfast before starting the school day is linked to improved concentration, better test scores, increased energy, a higher intake of vitamins and minerals, and even healthier body weight. Breakfast is especially important for young students whose brains use up about half of the body's energy. You should eat within the first hour of waking to get your body primed for a successful day. What you eat at breakfast has a large impact on the rest of the day. Instagram: @siyaa.patell

My favorite Disney character has to be Rapunzel. Rapunzel isn't afraid of adventure, as long as it leads her where she wants to go. Despite being trapped in a tower her entire life since she was stolen as a baby, she is strong-willed and determined. From the beginning to the end of Tangled, Rapunzel radiates limitless energy and seems to be the type of person who would be enjoyable to be around. She appears to be an ordinary girl, not a Princess, making her so humble. Rapunzel sent a great message when she chased her dreams despite the obstacles that came her way or the fact she turned Flynn Rider from a heartless thief to a sweet man. Rapunzel can use her extremely long hair to grasp and manipulate objects and people with precise accuracy. On many occasions, she has been shown using her hair as a rope to swing around, and a lasso to grab/hold objects and people. Even though most of us haven't actually been locked in a tower before, I'm willing to bet most of us have felt like we were at some point or another. Everyone knows what it feels like to have this giant barrier between you and everything you've ever wanted, and that's what Tangled is all about — overcoming it. And for anyone who loves staying at home, you probably live a life that's really similar to Rapunzel's. She has no friends and basically spends all her time reading and brushing her hair. There's the overbearing parent, which many of us can identify with. Watching Rapunzel's story unfold is a big feeling of "yep, been there," and that's not something you can say about every princess. When you spend the first eighteen years of your life locked in a tower, isolated from the outside world and all people outside of your mother, you find a lot of time to get really good at certain skills... and where Rapunzel is concerned, she got good at basically everything. She can paint, she can sew (even tiny dresses for Pascal!), she can somehow handle taking care of what I assume is at least twenty pounds of hair... we should all be more like Rapunzel. A lot of the other princesses have talents they were born with; they're pretty much all really good at singing and aside from a few domestic abilities they're not all that skilled.

I love math because math is all around us, in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, including medicine, mobile devices, finance, computers, software, cooking, architecture, art, money, engineering, and even sports. We are surrounded by numbers, equations, and algorithms – especially in this age of data science, with huge data sets that can only be understood through statistical models and analysis. Math gives us the ability to view the world in a way nothing else can! Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are the power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and even effective communication skills. It's hard to believe, but every career requires math to some extent. Workers who build or fix things use math in their jobs. Medical technicians, nurses, and doctors need to use math too. For example, they need math to treat patients, understand medical tests, and operate medical equipment. It gives us a way to understand patterns, quantify relationships, and predict the future. Math helps us understand the world — and we use the world to understand math. Mathematical knowledge plays a crucial role in understanding the contents of other school subjects such as science, social studies, and even music and art. When we do a mathematical problem: collect the data, break down its premises, observe the relations that keep or systematically solve their parts in a rational way. If we are able to understand mathematics and arrive at logical solutions, we will be able to prepare our minds when we have real problems. Math problems aren't easy to solve, but to me finding the answer is very satisfying. Analytical and reasoning skills are essential because they help us solve problems and look for solutions. Every question has a clear answer; when you solve it, you can either be right or wrong. I personally enjoy this objective approach and the certainty that comes with it. I enjoy mathematics, I've been taking advanced math courses offered at my school to enhance my knowledge. I'm also a part of my school's Mu Alpha Theta honors society program. This program provides a method for schools to recognize and encourage students who enjoy and excel in mathematics. Organizes a national convention for students and teachers to participate in math-related events and interact with others from across the country.

STEM is incredibly important for our rising generation because it provides relevant and real-world exposure to important math, science, technology, and engineering concepts, while also preparing kids for the future needs of our society. We use STEM in our daily lives-- it's everywhere. I'm passionate about science, technology, and mathematics in STEM. The benefits of lifelong learning go beyond career advancement: it helps your understanding of how the world works, helps you realize your passions, and helps boost creativity. In addition, lifelong learning can enhance our understanding of the world around us, providing us with more opportunities to improve our quality of life. I plan to pursue a career in the healthcare field as a physician. I'm pursuing science, technology, and mathematics; I'm particularly interested in biomedical science and neuroscience. Physicians need to be lifelong learners to provide timely, efficient, and state-of-the-art patient care in an environment where knowledge, technology, and social requirements are rapidly changing. I’m passionate about pathological processes such as researching human diseases associated with pathogenic processes, such as tumor growth, thrombosis, fibrosis, and dysplasia. I have adequate knowledge because I have shadowed in a pathology lab in the past. This field requires extensive learning, and I want to continue to build my knowledge. The continued emphasis on learning, and sustaining with current trends and practices, ensures that medical professionals everywhere continue to provide excellent care to their patients. Therefore, lifelong learning is necessary as it gives doctors the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to resolve issues they may encounter while taking care of patients. Studying and working in STEM means learning about the world around you, and finding innovative solutions to real-world challenges. I love engaging in STEM activities, such as camps and competitions. Whether you believe it or not, STEM is the future of our world, and I see my future in STEM. I do want to become a physician to help those in need, however, the main reason that motivates me is the use of advancing technology. I'm avid about learning about the future of technology, and as a doctor, I want to apply the use of technology in my everyday life. I want to learn to use new machines and new devices. I want to help others with the use of advancing science and technology knowledge. STEM careers go beyond just being a doctor or an engineer – the opportunities are endless! STEM education gives people skills that make them more employable and ready to meet the current labor demand. It encompasses the whole range of experiences and skills. Each STEM component brings a valuable contribution to a well-rounded education. Science gives learners an in-depth understanding of the world around us.

The body of knowledge and practice is known as mathematics is derived from the contributions of thinkers throughout the ages and across the globe. It's hard to believe, but every career requires math to some extent. Workers who build or fix things use math in their jobs. Math has wide-ranging applications, especially in engineering, science, and finance, enabling humanity to escape the limitations of inherently ambiguous natural language, allowing the establishment of more reliable knowledge and the accelerating development of the modern world. Unlike many other subject areas. There is a sort of hierarchy with Mathematical concepts; for instance, you simply cannot understand calculus without having a hold over basic algebra first. Due to this, you have to bear in mind that whenever you learn a new concept, it is something that will be referred to repeatedly as you learn the next one. As you can see how everything clicks into place, it makes learning more interesting and engaging. Math is not subjective. Scholarships provide an opportunity for people to earn an education. Without assistance from an outside source, students may have trouble paying for the degree. Scholarships help students have more time to focus on their studies. Over my high school years, I have applied for over 100 scholarships, but I haven't won any yet. I have learned that many individuals are applying for the same scholarships, so it's difficult just to choose one winner. Applying for a scholarship is easy. Getting a scholarship, on the other hand, is hard. Scholarships provide financial support for students to help pay for a college degree. These funds enable students to obtain the education they may not have access to otherwise. Scholarships go further than being financial aid for many students. They reward deserving students with the ability to afford higher education. Even the smallest amounts of money can help students a lot. Organizations tend to sponsor students who are not easily distracted. A well-written application that is concise focused, and not rambling is the best way to show that you are focused on your academic and career goals. need-based scholarships are financial aid given to students based on financial needs. Merit-based scholarships, on the other hand, are financial aid awarded based on academic, artistic, or athletic merit. Some merit aids also take financial needs into account. Just because you feel you will not qualify for a need-based scholarship doesn’t mean that you should not fill out the FAFSA form. Most incoming first-year students, regardless of economic background, should complete and submit the FAFSA form before the deadline to know whether or not they are eligible for some government assistance. The goal is for you to be able to come across as many scholarships as you want, apply to as many of them as you can, and get your hands on as many awards as possible so that you don’t have to worry that much about the steep cost of college. Different scholarships have different application deadlines. Some of them even require students to submit their applications up to a year before starting college. For instance, you can fill out the FAFSA form starting October 1, which is the date when the application for federal financial aid starts. I learned many FAFSA tips in my financial literacy education class. To increase your chances of getting about twice as much financial aid, on average, as students who file their FAFSA form at a much later date — some aids are on a first-come, first-served basis. To make sure that you will have plenty of time to gather all the necessary information, thus allowing you to submit your correctly completed FAFSA form before the deadline, which is June 30.

Having a positive mindset is scientifically proven to boost happiness and motivate you to achieve your goals. As Winston Churchill once said, “Optimists see opportunities in every difficulty.” Even though roadblocks may be getting in your way, it’s important to remember that optimists are creative thinkers who can recover from setbacks. I keep a gratitude journal and write in it almost every day. Practicing gratitude can be an antidote to sadness and negativity. And it’s been proven that practicing gratitude can rewire your brain to improve your happiness levels in the long run! Being able to identify strengths in your life is very important for one’s outlook on life. No matter how big or small the strength is, it is important to acknowledge them when you are feeling down. To stay optimistic I connect with the world--spending time in nature, and appreciating the world around me. Spending time in nature can improve your mood and your mental health and it allows for a good opportunity to practice mindfulness—which can produce many positive effects on your life. This has taught me that the world is too big, and our problems are small. During difficult situations, it is sometimes difficult to remain calm. Once you are in a calm state, ask yourself, “what could I do to be more positive about this?” I like to help others, by volunteering; the amount of happiness you give out to people tends to be returned back to you. You know how people say, “treat others how you want to be treated?” Doing an act of kindness will not only make another person feel better but you as well. Some ways that you can help spread positivity include helping others, listening to others, and being uplifting and encouraging.

From my academic and extracurricular experiences, I have frequently worked with people who differ from me; working with my peers, teachers, and members of my community from different backgrounds has helped me appreciate different viewpoints. I have been able to interact with individuals different from myself through volunteering at the York County Food Bank. Food insecurity is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. As a volunteer, my goal was to meet the diverse needs of families facing food insecurity and ensure that people had access to the food they need to live healthy lives. Due to the pandemic, many people lost their jobs. Unfortunately, over 300 families in my community were going through starvation. The bank enables many volunteers and passionate individuals to give back to their community and make a difference in someone's life. I distributed food to families and I heard different stories and witnessed individuals facing hardships. Some people looked like they were in poor health, and others lived in poverty. The York County Food Bank has had a major impact on how I now perceive the world and how I have changed as an individual. Before volunteering at the food bank, I was disconnected from my community and afraid to step out of my comfort zone to help others. However, after volunteering at the organization, I realized this was the perfect opportunity for me to show less fortunate families that there are individuals in our society willing to help them. I saw the faces of individuals light up due to what may have been a small action to me, but was a meaningful action for them. As I helped distribute food, I felt a sense of purpose and that the actions I was making were significant and vital to connecting the community. I think that knowing how many people need help just to get basic essentials each week puts any personal problems into perspective and has made me more grateful for what I have. I have also now become a part of a huge, loving group of volunteers who share the same purpose and goal. By working together with individuals who all desire to help their community as much as possible, I have become a more open-minded individual who is no longer afraid to voice my opinions and have gained communication and problem-solving skills. I have gained many opportunities and a self-reflection on my values and morals by volunteering at the food bank. These experiences have shown me the importance of valuing everyone’s unique perspectives and utilizing that consideration and compassion to help others. I also volunteer at the Wellspan Hospital of York in the Pediatrics department. My experiences as a volunteer have made me grow into a person of dedication, integrity, determination, and compassion. I learned so much about patient care, safety, and satisfaction that in the future I will have the tools I need to be the best advocate for my patients. Volunteers often perform essential roles and healthcare facilities and work directly with patients, patient's families, and staff members. These important roles help give participants a sense of purpose, as they see the ways in which their time can positively affect the lives of those in need. Making a difference in the lives of patients and their families motivates me to be the best tech I can be. Making patients comfortable and helping them through a difficult visit is what I look forward to.

I have frequently worked with people who differ from me; working with my peers, teachers, and members of my community from different backgrounds has helped me appreciate different viewpoints. As a chemistry tutor, I have been able to work with students of different backgrounds with unique learning goals. My student, Jessica, was struggling with understanding the concepts of chemistry. She was not performing as well as she wanted to in that course. I was recommended to tutor her because I excelled in math and chemistry classes. I was able to listen to her frustrations and identify different ways to help her learn the content and apply it to labs and tests. With patience and time, I helped her navigate through the material, and she ended up passing the course with a good grade. Not everyone picks up materials as fast as others; people have different learning styles; some people prefer kinesthetic learning, while others prefer auditory and visual learning. I’m a kinesthetic learner; I understand concepts better through hands-on learning and demonstrations. However, Jessica was a visual learner, she better-understood concepts by seeing pictures. By working with a wide variety of students like Jessica, I have been able to understand the importance of listening actively to individuals’ struggles and unique experiences to learn about how to best help them, and I look forward to applying this skill to help future individuals. In addition to my experiences tutoring, I have been able to interact with individuals different from myself through volunteering at the York County Food Bank. A name is your identity. It's what people call you, it's what you respond to, it's what you understand about yourself. From the day we are born, we are assigned this identifier. Some people get nicknames or change their name entirely after they are born, but the common thread is a NAME. My parents did not know my gender until my birth. They wanted to find out during the day I was born and kept it a surprise. They did not decide on any names. However, my cousin's brother desperately wanted to name me, so he thought of a modern--yet a meaningful name for me. At the time when I was born, Sia-- a famous Australian singer was part of pop culture. My mom wanted my name to be longer than three letters so they named me Siya. My name traditionally refers to the Hindu goddess Sita. My name belongs to Rashi Kumbh (Aquarius) with the dominant planet Saturn (Shani) and Nakshatra (stars) Sathabisham. My mom thought my name was special because traditionally the numerology for my name is the number 9, and I was born on the 9th of November. The name Siya creates a dual nature in that you can be very generous and understanding. My name seems powerful to me, however, it can be interpreted in many ways. My friends always joke around that my name sounds like "see-ya-later", and so they always bid their adieu with that phrase. My name is just two syllables and only four letters but it carries deep personal, cultural, familial, and historical connections. My parents held a ceremony for me when they brought me home called "Naamkaran". It is a traditional Hindu Practice where rice grains are spread on a bronze 'thali' or dish and the father writes the chosen name in it using a gold stick while chanting God's name. Then he whispers the name into the child's right ear, repeating it four times along with a prayer.

As a high schooler, my goal is the saving money for my further education in college. If I were given $1000 right now, I would invest the money in the stock market. Stocks offer investors the greatest potential for growth (capital appreciation) over the long haul. Investors willing to stick with stocks over long periods of time say 15 years, generally have been rewarded with strong, positive returns. Owning stocks in different companies can help you build your savings, protect your money from inflation and taxes, and maximize income from your investments. Knowing there are risks when investing in the stock market is important. Over time, the stock market tends to rise in value, though the prices of individual stocks rise and fall daily. Investments in stable companies that are able to grow to tend to make profits for investors. I have learned from my financial lit class that this would be a good strategy especially if you are looking into wealth. I want financial security for the at least next ten years of my education, and I think this would be one of the best ideas to help the $1,000 grow over time.

I love science, I want to pursue my career in the medical field. After high school, I want to major in biomedical sciences. I’m dedicated to medicine; I have always been interested in researching and investigating problems to find a solution. I have taken almost all the anatomy courses offered at my school because I love learning about how the body works. It is very interesting how our small parts perform so many vital functions. I value education and I understand that my journey into medicine will be long but worthwhile. The benefits of lifelong learning go beyond career advancement: it helps one understand how the world works, allows the realization of one’s passions, and helps boost creativity. I want to pursue a future career in medicine. My experience with shadowing a pathologist in the past has given me a deeper appreciation of the role of pathological processes such as tumor growth, thrombosis, fibrosis, and dysplasia in various human diseases. Becoming a physician would mean embracing lifelong learning; continued education allows physicians to provide high-quality care in an environment where knowledge, technology, and social requirements are rapidly changing. The continued emphasis on learning and sustaining current trends and practices ensures that medical professionals everywhere continue to provide excellent care to patients. Lifelong learning is necessary as it gives doctors the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to resolve issues they may encounter while taking care of patients. . You have the ability to significantly improve the quality of life of your patients, and this can be a tremendously satisfying experience. I'm known for having perseverance, and I'm very persistent; these qualities will help me a lot in my journey through medicine. This concept of working on a medical problem whose solution would lead to better health for individuals seems satisfying

From my academic and extracurricular experiences, I have frequently worked with people who differ from me; working with my peers, teachers, and members of my community from different backgrounds has helped me appreciate different viewpoints. I have understood that each person has a different story. As a chemistry tutor, I have been able to work with students of different ages and backgrounds with unique learning goals. My student, Jessica, was struggling with understanding the concepts of chemistry. She was not performing as well as she wanted to in that course. I was recommended to tutor her because I excelled in math and chemistry classes. I listened to her frustrations and identified different ways to help her learn the content and apply it to labs and tests. In addition to my experiences tutoring, I have been able to interact with individuals different from myself through volunteering at the Food Bank. Some people looked like they were in poor health, and others lived in poverty. The bank has had a major impact on how I now perceive the world and how I have changed as an individual.

In my generation, the most common problem for teens is spending leaks, discretionary expenses, purchasing unnecessary items, and having no money left when needed; the only solution to this problem is budgeting. By tracking expenses and following a plan, a budget makes it easier to pay bills on time, build an emergency fund, and save for major expenses such as a car or home. Overall, a budget puts a person on a stronger financial footing for both the day-to-day and the long term. I found various budgeting strategies useful like the 50/30/20 rule where you put 50% of your money towards needs, 30% toward wants and 20% towards saving and paying off loans. The Zero balance strategy was also another important practice where every dollar was accounted for. I think that the cash envelope system would be a great strategy for our generation when you have envelopes labeled for each spending category. This helps you keep track of money that you have left and helps you stay within your limit for spending money. It's necessary to underestimate your income and overestimate your expenses. It’s also a good strategy to pay yourself first, learn to say no, prove yourself first, and eliminate spending leaks. At this point in my life, I don't have any spending leaks, I don't make any purchases that frequently. However, these tips will be useful when I go to college or start living on my own. When I live independently, I should consider opening saving accounts for emergency funds- for potential financial emergencies, such as an account for big purchases. I should continue my strategy for needs and wants; when I go shopping, I decide if the product is a need or a want. I think this strategy has helped me save up a lot of money.

Imagine every dream you've ever wanted to accomplish, and every goal you hoped to achieve. Now, imagine never getting to do any of those things. That is what happens to people who are too scared to pursue their dreams, so they lead lives full of longing for something they never get. The greatest obstacle most people face in achieving their dreams is self-doubt, and if they could overcome their own fears, they would lead much happier lives. Fear--it takes hold of even the strongest man when he least expects it. The key to overcoming fear and self-doubt is tackling the problem head-on. There´s no one solution to every fear, but by doing what is scary and not letting it stop them, people can overcome almost anything. For example, if you're scared of rejection, apply to one of the most famous colleges in the world. It won't hurt to try, and if you are accepted you get a great education. Simple exercises like that can help boost confidence and reduce your anxiety about achieving what you want in life. That’s the best part about pushing past your fears, the feelings of pride and accomplishment resulting from doing something difficult. Overcoming fears lead to unfathomable delight and more fulfilling life. It is crucial to seize all of the opportunities presented in life because they often only come around once. No one will believe in you and your abilities if you don’t believe in yourself. This may sound cliché but it’s a longstanding truth. Therefore, it’s important to identify ways you can instill confidence in yourself and overcome the fear. Remember, you are in charge of emotions and you choose what type of emotions can take over you. Replace the habits that lead to fear with those that bring about satisfaction.

As people get older, they may start to feel depressed or feel like a burden to their loved ones. We can help our aging loved ones combat these feelings by helping them improve their quality of life. Respecting elders is a basic attitude or manner that is being shown to the superior person. It shows a sign of gratitude towards the concerned authority and a matter of honoring someone. Respect does not deal with misbehaving the elders or disrespecting an individual. It is all about respecting their experiences in life. Respect comes from within the soul and not from the outside world. I'm a member of the student council, each year we organize a senior citizen day at my school for elderly people in my community to spend a day at our school and share their lives with us. It’s important to have Senior Citizen Day because we as a school district give back to the people who have given us so much and we welcome them into our schools to let them know that they are appreciated and valued. Often, many do not realize how many of our visitors have given to our school district, so we use this day as a way to thank and honor them. Elders feel honored when you show respect towards them. They love you unconditionally & you owe everything in return to their kindness and love. Their teaching and life lessons will make you stronger in life. It will help you build your future and career. Helping elders is an indirect way of respecting them. You will get to know very much from them. They have tons of knowledge. You can get to know about the history of the country, the history of the family tree.

You have a 1 in 315 chance of death by gun assault, which is a higher chance than drowning or death by fire/smoke inhalation. You have a 1 in 11 chance of death via mass shooting, which is a higher chance than being killed by a tornado, earthquake, shark attack, or being struck by lightning. There have been 115 mass shootings with semi-automatic weapons in the U.S from 1999-to 2019, on average approximately 6 per year. Active shooter incidents have been on the rise in the two decades since a dozen students and a teacher were killed at Columbine in 1999. Mass shootings and active shooter incidents have also continued to foster a deeply emotional and long-standing debate over both the number of guns and controls over those weapons in the U.S, all to end up with congressional gridlock and familiar arguments about mental health, millions of responsible gun owners and the Second Amendment. It's a state of affairs that has become all too familiar -- and distressing -- too many across the nation and generations. It also makes the U.S. an anomaly in the developed world -- a wealthy country with an endemic gun violence issue and the seeming inability to solve it. More than 19,000 Americans died from gun violence in 2019. With the increase in mass shootings bringing the long-standing gun reform debate to the forefront of American politics, advocates for increased firearms regulation have emerged. Many people support gun legislation reform, joining the “March for Our Lives” protests and other organizations that advocate for gun safety. We must support community planning and implementation of comprehensive community safety plans that include prevention and intervention. We need to expand access to high-quality, culturally competent, coordinated, social, emotional, and mental health supports and address the impact of trauma.

I love nature and I know the importance of plants, especially on climate change. Planting new trees is one of the most effective ways to reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide and limit global warming. As forests grow they remove CO2 from the air through photosynthesis, working as a natural reservoir to store carbon. Home gardeners can be an important part of the solution to climate change by using sustainable practices. Sustainable gardening and landscaping techniques can slow future warming by reducing carbon emissions and increasing carbon storage in soil and plants. Even if you plant just one, it will help clean the air, filter water, offset carbon, create shade, give birds a place to build a nest, enrich the soil, and provide food and shelter for small creatures. I have donated money to Teamtrees, a collaborative fundraiser that raised 20 million U.S. dollars before the start of 2020 to plant 20 million trees. Plants use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, which slightly offsets the amount of greenhouse gas being released into the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels. My mom and I enjoy gardening, so we try to plant trees in our backyard every spring. As forests grow they remove CO2 from the air through photosynthesis, working as a natural reservoir to store carbon. The more trees, the less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the more oxygen. The importance of trees and plants in our life is inexhaustible. They provide us with food, shelter, clothing, and medicine. They purify the air we breathe and maintain balance in the ecosystem. Burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests, and farming livestock are increasingly influencing the climate and the earth's temperature. This adds enormous amounts of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and global warming.

I love reading, in fact, it is one of my hobbies; my all-time favorite book has to be "The Great Gatsby" by Scott Fitzgerald. I think it's a novel that takes ordinary American language and makes it unearthly. It explores universal themes — human follies, the hopelessness of societal constructs, and man's struggle with time and fate. The book exemplifies corruption in our American society, especially during the period in which the story took place. It is related to one of my favorite plays, "Romeo and Juliet. The character of millionaire Jay Gatsby represents the extremes of 1920s wealth and decadence. Gatsby devotes his life to accumulating riches to attract the attention of his romantic obsession, the lovely but spoiled Daisy Buchanan. I loved that one of the most important lessons was to not change yourself for someone, but change yourself to live a better life for yourself. . The details utilized to describe the setting in each part of the society, emphasize that the old money has a hard time accepting the new money. In the east egg, the individuals were born rich, they did not work hard for their wealth; they inherited their wealth from the previous generations. The west egg was composed of individuals who had worked hard for their wealth, they found different ways to acquire money- some used legal ways while others used illegal ways. The people of the east egg were selfish, spoiled, and unappreciative, they were overly unaccepting. They lacked respect and compassion for the people living in the west egg, they felt superior, and their characters created a barrier that interfered with the dreams of the people trying to achieve the ultimate American dream.

While our relationships impact our mental health, it is important to remember that our mental health can impact how we connect with others and how we develop relationships. Mental health problems such as depression and anxiety can influence whether someone feels able to interact and connect to others. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. As a student, I emphasize the need to have good mental health in order to achieve your goals. Unaddressed mental health problems can have a negative influence on homelessness, poverty, employment, safety, and the local economy. They may impact the productivity of local businesses and health care costs, impede the ability of children and youth to succeed in school, and lead to family and community disruption. I try to keep my mental health at the top. Our world becomes a dangerous place as more people face mental health problems. Mental illness often has a 'ripple effect' on families, creating tension, uncertainty, stress, and sometimes significant changes in how people live their lives. Different family members are likely to be affected in different ways. It's normal to feel a whole range of emotions, such as guilt, fear, anger, and sadness. Emotional and mental health is important because it's a vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Being healthy emotionally can promote productivity and effectiveness in activities like work, school, or caregiving. As students, our mental health directly impacts our ability to take in new information, understand new concepts, and master new skills. When struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues, working on assignments and attending classes can become impossible. Stress is the feeling of not being able to cope with specific demands and events; it can become a serious chronic condition if a person does not take proper action to manage it. Stress comes from work, relationships, financial pressures, and other situations. In some cases, stress can be beneficial, and essential to survival. The body’s fight-or-flight mechanism tells a person when and how to respond to danger. However, when the body becomes triggered too easily, or there are too many stressors at one time, it affects a person’s mental and physical health and becomes harmful. According to the article, when humans face a challenge or threat, they have a partly physical response; the body produces larger quantities of the chemical cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. This triggers increased blood pressure, excessive sweating, and even alertness. Mental health conditions, such as depression, and anxiety can make some people feel stressed more easily than others. Stress has many other mental and physical problems along with it, it can seriously cause blood pressure and pulse to rise, speed up breathing, and slow down immune activity, and digestive system. Although stress may be beneficial in some cases, helping humans reach their full potential, it has many problems along with it which can destroy a being both mentally and physically, however, there are many ways to deal with this common problem. However, there are many ways to cope with stress, there are strategies that effectively help reduce stress. The pressure of time constraints can reduce concentration, limit creativity, and make it difficult to process information; making quick decisions will help you avoid stress. Sleep deprivation is another factor leading to stress, creating a proper schedule, and integrating it into your life will help you manage your stress and feel much more productive.Another way to manage stress is to exercise regularly. Exercising makes you feel healthy and better, it always manages to calm you don’t and divert your mind from your stressors. Acknowledging and celebrating small wins will make a difference. Recognizing the positive can boost mood, which can help people improve their flexibility, open-mindedness, and creativity, helping them manage stress. Lastly, another useful method mentioned was to build time into the daily schedule for breaks, and connections. this method helps you a lot if you have anxiety. Having a sense of control helps people cope with uncertainty and anxiety. When it feels impossible to manage every response or action during a crisis, people can focus more on controlling their day and routine. A common stressor for me is my performance in school. I'm a student who is always concerned about my grades and my performance in the activities I perform. I can avoid my stressor by being more positive in life. Stress is a very common problem in every individual’s life. It can be caused by physical demands of the body or by environmental and social situations, which are evaluated as potentially harmful, uncontrollable, or exceeding our resources for coping. Stress is usually thought of in negative terms. But it can manifest itself in both positive and negative ways. It is said to be positive when the situation offers an opportunity for one to gain something. Stress isn’t always harmful; it can help people reach their full potential and meet their goals. When I feel stressed about tests, I study harder, which helps me achieve success. However not all stress comes from school, people can be stressed about their future, their family, the pandemic, or even minor problems. There are multiple ways of coping with stressors such as: confronting, distancing, self-control, seeking social support, accepting responsibility, planning a problem-solving strategy, and having a positive reappraisal. To manage stress, we should try to aim for a healthier lifestyle. We need to eat healthier and avoid sugar and junk food. Exercising can also help because it releases endorphins which make your body feel relaxed. Yoga and meditation also help with stress management, by relaxing the mind. Therefore, mental health is essential for leading a happy life. It affects how we feel, thinks, and live our lives by encompassing our emotional, psychological, and sociological well-being.

The use of technological appliances and electronic devices has become common across the globe thus making the world a better place to live. The use of electronic gadgets has made the way of doing things much easier than it was many years ago. The invention of the cell phone is one of the most significant technological advancements in recent times. The wide use of this type of technology has demonstrated an enormous impact across many aspects of today’s life including socially, physically, and emotionally. As a result, it is difficult to go for a day without meeting new technological inventions, technical approaches, and methods that involve the use of technology. Consequently, it is hard to live and work without technology in today’s world. In society today it is very rare to find someone who does not own a cell phone. Cell phones have become such an important part of society. They have come a long way with the advancements made in technology to allow these phones to do more than you would think possible. We now not only use them to contact people, but use them for social media, to take pictures, surf the web, and get information at the touch of our fingers. Before the cell phone if you were driving and got lost you would pull into the nearest gas station and ask for directions. Now with our smartphone, you can pull up a map from your phone and get step-by-step directions to where you need to go. Before cell phones, the world had a little more intimacy and privacy. The mobile phone is so advanced it almost has the function of a computer/laptop. In this era, people can communicate with friends and family members anywhere around the world. It is possible to communicate with friends in the USA and other parts of the world in a blink of an eye using a cell phone. This implies that rapid changes in technology have positively impacted the business world. The big and obvious advantage of mobile phones is that people are able to communicate with their friends, family members, and coworkers easily. Today, there is much proof that the use of technology has greatly affected the way people live and work; however, the positive side of the use of new technology in life surpasses the negative side. This is because technology has made people’s lives more convenient and easier.

Math is all around us, in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, including medicine, mobile devices, finance, computers, software, cooking, architecture, art, money, engineering, and even sports. The real-life applications of Mathematics are endless. We are surrounded by numbers, equations, and algorithms – especially in this age of data science, with huge data sets that can only be understood through statistical models and analysis. Maths gives us the ability to view the world in a way nothing else can! Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are the power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and even effective communication skills. The body of knowledge and practice is known as mathematics is derived from the contributions of thinkers throughout the ages and across the globe. It's hard to believe, but every career requires math to some extent. Workers who build or fix things use math in their jobs. For example, car mechanics that do wheel alignments need math to be successful at what they do. Medical technicians, nurses, and doctors need to use math too. For example, they need math to treat patients, understand medical tests, and operate medical equipment. It gives us a way to understand patterns, to quantify relationships, and predict the future. Math problems aren't easy to solve, but finding the answer can be very satisfying. Analytical and reasoning skills are important because they help us solve problems and look for solutions. Every question has a clear answer and when you solve it, you can either be right or wrong. There’s no grey area.

Math problems aren't easy to solve, but finding the answer can be very satisfying. Analytical and reasoning skills are important because they help us solve problems and look for solutions. Every question has a clear answer and when you solve it, you can either be right or wrong. There’s no grey area.

Budgeting is a very important financial lesson that needs to be stressed- especially in the lives of teenagers and young adults. One of the most important financial literacy lessons I've learned is always to have a plan for your money and have regular check-ins on your overall financial picture. By tracking expenses and following a plan, a budget makes it easier to pay bills on time, build an emergency fund, and save for major expenses such as a car or home. In short, the most common consequences of not budgeting include a lack of savings, less financial security, out-of-control spending, a higher likelihood of going into debt, and more financial stress. In our generation, most teens don't believe in saving their money, they like to use their money for leisure activities, hobbies, and friends. Just like physical education, personal finance should also be a part of their syllabus so that they can understand the value of earning and spending money judiciously from the very beginning. Knowing where the money goes is essential to keeping track of your expenditures on a daily basis. I'm lucky to have a financial literacy course at my school and learn the impacts and benefits of budgeting. It is a necessary lesson as it helps you control your spending, track your expenses, and save more money. Additionally, budgeting can help you make better financial decisions, prepare for emergencies, get out of debt, and stay focused on your long-term financial goals.

“Travel in the youngest sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience,” says Francis Bacon, “ My hobby is traveling to various places around the world. I consider myself lucky to get an opportunity to travel a lot. To this date I have travelled to five different foreign countries, I have visited 3 different continents, and 16 states. I want to continue to explore hidden treasures around the world. At a younger age, traveling becomes a part of learning whereas at an older age it becomes a part of an experience. Traveling to temples, monasteries, parks, castles, historical fortification, and castles is a good utilization of time. As a traveler, I always carry out some prior research before visiting the selected destination. Traveling is considered an expensive hobby, however my family never looks at the expenses when it comes to traveling. I find satisfaction when I become free from my tedious schedule; mentally and physically. Traveling reveals the secrets about places and those secrets give me the ecstasies and revelations that maintain my curiosity and interest alive by cheering me to continue my journey. My favorite traveling destination has to be the Canadian Casa Loma. The Casa Loma is a gothic revival style mansion located in Toronto, Ontario. It is a historic land mark constructed for Sir Henry Pellatt. With soaring battlements and secret passageways, it paid homage to the castles and knights of days gone by. To this day it remains one of the only true castles in North America. It’s a historic gem with 98 rooms, many of which are secret rooms. My second favorite destination has to be Mumbai, the best place for exploring the Indian culture. On Mumbai’s Barbour stands the Gateway of India, a historic stone arch. Offshore, the Elephanta island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu hod Shiva. The city is also famous as it’s known for being the heart of the Bollywood film industry. My parents and I spent 24 hours in Mumbai, and it was the best 24 hours in my life. It was such a diverse city with many aspects of history, culture and modern society. Traveling involves everything- adventure, fun, excitement, and lots more. Traveling is my favorite hobby because it gratifies all requirements of a relaxing hobby. I see recalling as an enthralling education. It offers stimulant to my intellect, soul, and body.
