    Matthew E. Minor Memorial Scholarship
Every child deserves to feel safe, both in person and online, but in today’s digital world, that safety can be fragile. My name is Siniah Stevens, and I am a senior at South Dade Senior High School, graduating in 2026. I am passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in my community, especially when it comes to preventing bullying and creating supportive environments. I believe that even small actions, like offering a kind word or helping someone navigate online dangers, can create lasting change. In high school, I have been actively involved in my school and community. I have volunteered in the school office, assisting students with questions, guiding them through school processes, and helping them feel welcomed and supported. I have also helped organize school events, participated in community service projects, and mentored younger students, encouraging them to be confident and responsible. One experience that stands out is when a new student was being teased online by classmates. I reached out to them, showed them how to report the bullying, and helped them connect with supportive peers. Watching their confidence grow and knowing I helped make their school experience safer reminded me why standing up for others is so important. Beyond helping individual students, I try to create a broader positive impact in my community. I speak openly with friends and classmates about the dangers of cyberbullying and the importance of digital responsibility. I help younger students learn how to navigate social media safely, understand the consequences of harmful online behavior, and build confidence in advocating for themselves. I have also encouraged school campaigns focused on kindness, inclusion, and respect, because I believe culture changes when students are empowered to make it better. Financially, my family has limited resources, and I will need support to pursue higher education. I plan to attend college and focus on building my skills and career, but scholarships like this are essential to allow me to continue my academic and community involvement without being held back by financial challenges. Receiving this scholarship would not only support my education but also allow me to continue projects that help protect children and teens from bullying and online dangers. I plan to pursue higher education in Marketing, where I can combine my creativity, communication skills, and leadership to influence positive change. I hope to develop campaigns and programs that raise awareness about safety, inclusion, and respect in both school and online communities. I am ambitious and driven to continue making a difference in the lives of others, ensuring that all youth feel valued, supported, and confident. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for the Matthew E. Minor Awareness Foundation scholarship. This scholarship would not only help me pursue my goals but also allow me to continue contributing to a world where youth are safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
