This question took me back to my childhood, because that is where my dream first began. I saw this essay prompt two weeks ago, and I was immediately excited to submit my application. What would the life of my dreams look like? If you had asked me this question sixteen years ago, I would have given a very different answer. Back then, I would have envisioned a future in medicine, traveling across my country and continent to help people and save lives. If you had asked me ten years ago, I would have said civil engineering, building sustainable housing and creating opportunities for the less privileged in my community and beyond. Five years ago, my answer shifted again, and since then it has remained the same. Through every change in career ambition, one thing has been constant: my goal to help people, my community, my country, and my continent. That desire has never wavered. When I imagine the life of my dreams today, it begins three years from now, after earning my graduate degree from Arizona State University. In this vision, I do not see luxury or fame. I see purpose, impact, and excellence. I see myself waking up each morning fulfilled because the work I do not only challenges me intellectually but also transforms lives and creates opportunities for others. In this dream, I am a successful management consultant, first working with global firms and later leading my own advisory practice. My office is alive with diverse voices united by a mission to help businesses grow while making decisions that benefit communities and protect the environment. I travel across continents, guiding organizations through complex challenges, from restructuring strategies to embedding sustainability into their operations. It is not only about advising clients but about seeing ideas turn into action, watching how those actions spark growth that is both profitable and responsible. The life of my dreams also carries the legacy of where I started. Growing up in a small waterfront community in Lagos, I saw firsthand how limited access to resources can hold back bright and hardworking people. My father’s words, “Whatever you want to do, do it well and good,” still guide me in everything I do. In my dream life, I have not only lived by those words but multiplied them by creating platforms for others to pursue their goals with excellence. This includes mentoring young professionals, supporting entrepreneurs, and funding scholarships for students who, like me, once relied on the sacrifices of family and community to keep their dreams alive. Beyond career and community, my dream life is also about balance. I imagine a life where professional achievements do not come at the cost of personal values. I see a home filled with love, laughter, and family a place that grounds me no matter how demanding the world outside becomes. Ultimately, the life of my dreams is not defined by titles or possessions but by the impact I leave behind. I want people to look at my journey and be inspired to believe that with discipline, resilience, and education, anyone can rise above their circumstances. I dream of being remembered not just as a consultant who solved problems but as a leader who built bridges between business and sustainability, between opportunity and those who need it most, and between ambition and excellence. That is what the life of my dreams looks like: a life of purpose, a career built on excellence, and a legacy that inspires and empowers others to pursue whatever they choose and to do it well and good.
