Hi, my name is Siham Ahmed, and I believe that health is a human right. This core belief is at the heart of everything I do. My work is in the field of public health, specifically as an aspiring nutrition epidemiologist. Through my human rights-centered epidemiological work, I aim to analyze the relationship between what we eat and its impact on disease. I strive to contribute to disease prevention, particularly through nutritional interventions, education, and the promotion of life-changing eating habits. Food connects us all; it brings people together. It perfectly demonstrates how health is inherently a human right. As a first-generation college student born in Ethiopia, it would be an honor to bring people together and teach the importance of food, regardless of borders, nationality, or ethnicity. This life goal of mine is much bigger than myself, and I am eager to grow and navigate this journey.
