Pain is something that everyone experiences, but for some, it becomes an everyday reality. I know what it’s like to struggle, to feel weighed down by physical or emotional pain, and to wonder when relief will come. That is why my academic and professional goal is to pursue a career in kinesiology and occupational therapy—because I want to help others heal. I don’t want people to feel trapped in their pain with no way out. Instead, I want to be the person who guides them toward recovery, just as I have fought to overcome my own challenges.
I have always been fascinated by the connection between movement and healing. Whether it’s an athlete recovering from an injury, an elderly person regaining mobility, or a child learning to move again after an accident, physical therapy and rehabilitation can transform lives. My goal is to earn a degree in kinesiology and occupational therapy so that I can provide hands-on care to those in need. Through my education, I will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to help people not only manage their pain but regain their strength and confidence.
My desire to make a difference in the world has been shaped by my experiences giving back to my community. One of the most impactful moments in my life was when I volunteered at a food drive for struggling families. Seeing the relief on people’s faces as they received meals showed me how much a simple act of kindness can mean to someone in need. That experience taught me that service isn’t just about providing material help—it’s about giving people hope. It made me realize that I want my career to be built around helping others, not just through short-term support but through long-term healing.
Another way I have given back is by helping friends and family through their struggles. Whether it’s offering words of encouragement, helping someone through physical discomfort, or simply being there to listen, I’ve learned that even small acts of care can make a huge impact. These experiences have inspired me to dedicate my life to helping people overcome pain and regain control of their lives.
Through my education and future career, I will continue to serve my community by providing the care and support that people in pain desperately need. I want to be a force for healing in the world, ensuring that no one has to suffer alone. By turning my passion into action, I will create lasting change—one patient at a time.
Peter and Nan Liubenov Student Scholarship
I believe that being a positive force in society means using my strengths and values to help others, uplift my community, and contribute to meaningful change. Right now, I strive to make a difference in small but impactful ways—by being kind to those around me, offering help when I see someone struggling, and setting a good example through hard work and perseverance. In the future, I hope to make an even greater impact by pursuing a career in kinesiology and occupational therapy, helping people recover from injuries and improve their physical well-being.
One way I try to be a positive influence today is by supporting those around me, whether it’s my friends, family, or classmates. I have always believed that encouragement and motivation can go a long way in helping people overcome obstacles. For example, when a friend was struggling with self-doubt about their academic abilities, I helped them study and reminded them of their strengths. Seeing their confidence grow showed me how small actions can lead to big changes in someone’s life.
Looking ahead, I want to expand my ability to help others by dedicating my career to improving people’s physical health. Through kinesiology and occupational therapy, I will be able to assist individuals recovering from injuries, disabilities, or other physical challenges. Many people struggle with mobility issues that impact their independence and quality of life. By guiding them through rehabilitation and helping them regain their strength, I can be a source of encouragement and support.
The way I view my role in society is shaped by current social norms, which emphasize inclusivity, health, and the importance of mental and physical well-being. Today, society recognizes that success isn’t just about individual achievement but also about how we uplift others. The increasing focus on healthcare and rehabilitation has reinforced my belief that my career choice is not just important but necessary. Additionally, the growing awareness of mental health has shown me that healing isn’t just physical—it’s emotional too. I want to be part of this movement, helping people heal holistically.
Being a positive force in society means committing to personal growth while also uplifting those around me. Whether through small daily acts of kindness or a lifelong career dedicated to helping others, I know that my contributions will make a difference. I will continue to learn, adapt, and serve, always striving to improve the world in any way I can.

Helping others has always been important to me because I believe that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. There are many ways to serve a community, whether by volunteering, offering emotional support, or simply being there for someone in need. One experience that reinforced this lesson for me was when I volunteered at a local food drive, handing out meals to families who were struggling financially.
The food drive took place during the holiday season, a time that is supposed to be joyful, but for many families, it was filled with stress and uncertainty. I remember seeing parents who looked exhausted but relieved to receive food for their children. One mother in particular stood out to me. She had three young kids, and when she picked up her bags of groceries, she looked at me with gratitude in her eyes and said, “Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to us.” That moment changed my perspective. It made me realize how something as simple as giving food could make a real difference in someone’s life.
From that experience, I learned that helping others isn’t just about providing material things—it’s about showing people that they are seen, valued, and supported. Since then, I have looked for other ways to give back. Whether it’s mentoring younger students, assisting at community events, or helping neighbors with small tasks, I have found that every act of service, no matter how small, contributes to a stronger and more connected community.
There are countless ways people can volunteer and help their community. For example, tutoring students who need extra help, cleaning up parks and public spaces, or visiting nursing homes to spend time with the elderly are all meaningful ways to give back. Even something as simple as donating clothes, school supplies, or canned goods to shelters can provide relief to those in need. Community service is not just about fixing problems—it’s about building relationships and creating an environment where people feel supported.
In the future, I plan to continue serving my community through my career in kinesiology and occupational therapy. I want to help people regain their strength and independence, especially those recovering from injuries or facing physical challenges. Just as I learned from my experience at the food drive, sometimes people just need someone who cares—someone willing to help them get back on their feet.
Through acts of service, big or small, we can all make a difference. By lifting others up, we help create a stronger, more compassionate world.

Adversity has a way of shaping people, testing their strength, and revealing their true character. My family and I faced one of our toughest challenges when my dad was unemployed for an entire year. It was a time filled with stress, uncertainty, and countless prayers. My dad is a hard worker, someone who has always provided for our family, so watching him struggle to find a job was heartbreaking. Despite his best efforts, rejection after rejection made it seem like there was no way forward. Yet, in the midst of that hardship, we held onto one thing that never wavered—our faith.
We prayed constantly, believing that God would provide, even when the situation seemed impossible. Every night, we gathered as a family, asking for strength and trusting that an opportunity would come at the right time. Some days were harder than others. I remember seeing the worry in my parents’ eyes, especially as bills piled up. But instead of giving in to fear, we leaned on our faith even more.
Then, after a full year of waiting and trusting, my dad received a job offer for a position that had been open for just as long. It wasn’t just any job—it was one that perfectly matched his skills and experience. Looking back, we realized that God had been preparing this opportunity for him all along. This experience taught me that patience, resilience, and faith can carry you through even the darkest moments.
Going through this challenge has shaped my perspective on life and my goals for the future. I plan to study kinesiology and occupational therapy because I want to help others overcome physical obstacles, just as my family overcame financial struggles through faith and perseverance. Seeing my dad push forward despite countless setbacks inspired me to develop the same mindset in everything I do. Whether working with athletes recovering from injuries or patients learning to move again after an accident, I want to be a source of encouragement, just as my family found encouragement in our faith.
Education is my tool to make the world a better place. Through it, I will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to serve others, just as God provided for my family in our time of need. My goal is to combine science, faith, and compassion to improve lives—one person at a time. By helping others regain their strength and confidence, I hope to reflect the same perseverance and hope that carried my family through our most difficult year.

Constantly being doubted for the same thing can be exhausting, but how you choose to respond makes all the difference. Will you sit there and pout or will you prove yourself? From freshman year to the start of my senior year, my abilities have consistently been doubted in some way, whether it’s having to prove that I deserve a spot on the basketball team or securing that starting spot in the game. Freshman year, the varsity basketball coach was about to cut me from tryouts because I was “too small,” but the freshman coach didn’t agree. She always said that I was a “Dawg” on defense and that was why I deserved a spot on the team. Even though the head coach didn’t believe in me, someone else saw the potential and possible impact I could make on the team. When I found out later in the season that I almost got cut, I was genuinely surprised because the first game we played I got “Dawg of the game”. Going from almost not making the team to being the player of the game was my way of proving myself. I learned firsthand to always put 100 percent effort in everything I do because I never know who’s watching. There are going to be people in life that doubt me, but I have to stay out of my head and prove them wrong. Although I made the freshman team during school, the doubting didn’t stop. The summer of my freshman year, I had to try out for AAU basketball. Once again, I was told I was too small and nearly got cut, but our school coaches wanted the team to stay together. I made the team, but did I really get to play? No. Once again, my ability to contribute to the team was being questioned. This tested my mental toughness, as I could have quit and gone elsewhere, but I didn’t. I didn’t let the playing time affect my mood or thoughts, and kept working to prove myself. As a result, I ended up starting and playing nearly the whole game because I didn’t give up. This cycle continued all throughout my four years of high school, and it revealed that not everything in life is going to be easy. I came to understand that everything involves trial, error, and uncertainty, but what truly defines you is how you respond to those challenges. I don’t let other people's words affect me when I know I can do better. I've learned not to let others manipulate me into doubting my worth. I simply started proving them wrong in silence. Life won’t hand me anything easily, but by staying resilient and focused, I can overcome any challenge and achieve my goals. Yes I also played in the band, was in the National Honor Society, was in the Tri-Music Honor Society, and was in a committed leadership program at my church, but honestly basketball has taught me the most life lessons compared to the others.

Throughout my life, I’ve faced significant challenges that have shaped who I am today. The toughest of these have been self-doubt, mental health struggles, and financial instability. Each challenge has taught me invaluable lessons, helping me develop resilience and perseverance, which are now at the core of my character.
One of my biggest hurdles has been overcoming doubt in my abilities. Growing up, I was often told I wasn’t big enough or strong enough to succeed, especially in basketball. This external criticism made me question my worth and ability to achieve my goals. But instead of letting this self-doubt define me, I worked harder, pushing myself beyond the limits others set for me. Through persistence and belief in my potential, I earned a spot on my school’s basketball team, showing me that success is about effort, not just physical traits.
Mental health struggles have also shaped my journey. Juggling school, sports, and personal pressures led to periods of anxiety and stress. At times, I felt overwhelmed, but with the support of my family and therapy, I learned how to manage my mental health. This experience taught me the importance of self-care and empathy, and it reinforced my belief in the power of overcoming personal struggles. It also helped me realize that vulnerability is not a weakness but a strength in learning and growing.
Additionally, financial instability has been a constant challenge for my family. My father has been out of work for over a year, and my mother, a teacher, works tirelessly to support us. While my older sister is currently in college, our financial situation has been stretched thin, making it difficult for my parents to afford my education. Despite these challenges, I have remained determined to pursue higher education. I understand that education is the key to breaking the cycle of financial strain, and this scholarship would be vital in helping me achieve that goal.
This scholarship would allow me to focus on my studies without the constant worry of financial instability, enabling me to continue my education and reach my full potential. It would empower me to not only overcome the challenges I’ve faced but also to create a better future for myself and my family.

I am someone who believes in perseverance, faith, and the power of hard work. My journey has been shaped by challenges that have tested my resilience—whether it was overcoming doubts in basketball, facing financial struggles at home, or finding ways to serve my community despite hardships. These experiences have not only made me stronger but have also fueled my desire to make a meaningful impact on the world.
My family’s situation has taught me the value of determination. My father has been jobless for over a year, and my mother, a dedicated teacher, carries the financial burden of supporting our family while also paying for my older sister’s college education. While I am incredibly grateful for my parents' sacrifices, I know that affording college will be a significant challenge for me. However, I refuse to let financial struggles hold me back. Instead, they motivate me to work harder, seek out opportunities, and remain focused on my future goals.
One of the most important aspects of my life is my involvement in my church and my community. I serve as a mentor to younger children, guiding them in their faith, encouraging them to make positive choices, and teaching them the importance of perseverance. Through my work with these young individuals, I have seen firsthand how much of a difference mentorship and encouragement can make. Many children face hardships at home, bullying at school, and pressures from social media. By being a role model, I hope to empower them to rise above their struggles and believe in themselves.
Looking ahead, I plan to make a positive impact on the world through a career in health sciences, particularly chiropractic care or occupational therapy. I have always been passionate about health and wellness, especially as an athlete who understands the importance of physical care and rehabilitation. My goal is to help individuals recover from injuries, improve their mobility, and live pain-free lives. I want to work with athletes, children, and everyday individuals who need the kind of support and care that can change their quality of life.
Beyond my professional aspirations, I also hope to continue serving my community by educating others on physical health, injury prevention, and overall wellness. Many people, especially in underserved communities, do not have access to proper healthcare or guidance on maintaining their physical well-being. I want to use my career as a platform to provide resources, mentorship, and support to those in need.
In the end, my goal is to uplift and empower others, just as I have been uplifted by my family, my faith, and my community. No matter the challenges I face, I am committed to making a difference—whether through my career, mentorship, or service to others. I believe that true success is not just about personal achievement, but about using that success to inspire and help those around me.
Empower Her Scholarship
To me, empowerment is the ability to take control of my own life, make meaningful choices, and overcome challenges with confidence and determination. It means having the knowledge, support, and inner strength to pursue my goals, no matter the obstacles. Empowerment is not just about personal success—it is also about lifting others up, encouraging them to reach their full potential, and creating a positive impact in the world.
Empowerment has played a crucial role in my life, especially as I have faced personal and financial challenges. My family’s situation has not been easy. My father was laid off from his job over a year ago and has been unable to find steady work since. My mother, who is a dedicated teacher, has worked tirelessly to provide for our family while also paying for my older sister’s college education. As I prepare for my own college journey, I know that finances will be a significant challenge. However, instead of feeling discouraged, I use this as motivation to push myself harder, seek opportunities, and remain committed to my goals. I see education as a path to empowerment—one that will allow me to build a better future for myself and my family.
My involvement in my church has also taught me the power of empowerment through service. I actively serve in my church by mentoring younger children, helping with events, and providing guidance to those who need it. I believe that true empowerment comes from giving others the confidence and support to succeed. Many young people struggle with self-doubt, bullying, and uncertainty about their future. Through my role in the church, I strive to be a positive influence, encouraging them to believe in themselves and make good choices. By fostering a strong sense of faith, community, and self-worth, I hope to empower others just as I have been empowered by those who have supported me.
Empowerment also affects the way I handle adversity. In basketball, for example, I was often doubted because of my size. Many people assumed I wouldn’t succeed, but instead of letting those doubts define me, I used them as fuel to work harder. Through perseverance, resilience, and dedication, I proved myself and earned my place on the court. This experience reinforced my belief that empowerment comes from within—it’s about pushing beyond limitations and proving that I am capable, regardless of what others may think.
Looking ahead, I want to use my education and career to empower others. Whether through chiropractic care, personal training, or community service, I aim to help people take control of their health, well-being, and confidence. True empowerment is not just about achieving success for myself; it’s about helping others realize their own strength, overcome their struggles, and unlock their full potential.

Faith, family, and resilience have shaped me into the person I am today. Growing up, I learned the importance of hard work and perseverance, not just through my own experiences but through the sacrifices my parents have made. My father was laid off over a year ago and has struggled to find work since then. My mother, a dedicated teacher, carries the financial burden of supporting our family while also paying for my older sister’s college tuition. As I prepare to enter higher education, I know that affording college will be a significant challenge for my family. However, I refuse to let financial hardship define my future. Instead, I have focused on serving my community, staying involved in my church, and working to protect and uplift those around me—especially young people facing the challenges of bullying and online harassment.
One of the most important aspects of my life has been my involvement in the church. I serve in multiple roles, whether it’s volunteering for youth programs, helping with events, or mentoring younger members of the congregation. My faith has not only given me strength in difficult times but has also taught me the value of giving back. In my church, I work closely with younger children, encouraging them to stay on the right path, build confidence, and treat others with kindness. I know that the lessons they learn in a supportive environment like our church will help them navigate challenges, including bullying and peer pressure.
Beyond my church involvement, I am deeply passionate about keeping children and youth safe from bullying, both in-person and online. I have seen how social media can be a double-edged sword—connecting people while also creating a platform for cyberbullying. In my community, I take an active role in promoting positivity and accountability online. I educate younger kids about responsible social media use, warning them about the dangers of cyberbullying, online predators, and the long-term effects of digital footprints. I also encourage open conversations, reminding young people that they should never be afraid to ask for help if they experience bullying.
Despite my personal challenges, I have remained committed to my education and my future. My parents’ financial struggles have taught me the value of resilience and hard work. I know that I will need financial assistance to attend college, as my family’s resources are stretched thin. However, I am determined to pursue my education so that I can build a better future—not just for myself, but for my family and my community.
Higher education will allow me to continue serving others, whether through a career in health sciences, personal training, or chiropractic care. I want to help people improve their physical well-being, just as I strive to help young people protect their emotional and mental health today. No matter what challenges come my way, I will continue to push forward, uplift those around me, and make a difference in my community.

I have always been fascinated by the human body—how it moves, heals, and adapts to challenges. My interest in kinesiology and health science has led me to pursue a career in chiropractic care, where I can make a meaningful impact on people’s lives by helping them recover from injuries, improve mobility, and achieve a higher quality of life. I have always believed that movement is essential to overall well-being, and chiropractic care offers a unique, hands-on approach to healing that aligns perfectly with my passion for helping others.
Throughout my life, I have experienced firsthand the importance of physical resilience and the value of proper care when dealing with injuries. As an athlete, I’ve faced challenges that tested my strength, both physically and mentally. I know what it feels like to be doubted, to push through pain, and to work tirelessly to prove myself. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the struggles that many individuals face when dealing with pain and mobility issues. Chiropractic care provides a way to not only treat pain but to empower individuals with knowledge and techniques to prevent injuries and maintain their health in the long run.
One of my main goals as a future chiropractor is to focus on preventative care and patient education. Many people seek chiropractic care only after experiencing significant pain or injury, but I want to shift that mindset. By teaching people how to properly care for their bodies through posture correction, strength exercises, and lifestyle adjustments, I can help prevent injuries before they occur. This approach is especially important for athletes, individuals with physically demanding jobs, and aging populations who want to maintain their independence and mobility.
Beyond the physical benefits, I see chiropractic care as a means to improve mental well-being. Chronic pain can be incredibly frustrating and even debilitating, affecting a person’s mood, motivation, and overall outlook on life. By providing effective, non-invasive treatments, I hope to restore confidence and positivity in my patients. My goal is to create a space where people feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.
Ultimately, I want to make a lasting impact by helping individuals take control of their health, move freely, and live pain-free lives. Whether working with athletes to optimize their performance or assisting everyday individuals in regaining mobility, I am excited to pursue a career that allows me to combine my love for kinesiology, hands-on care, and a holistic approach to healing.

"You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." – Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Marcus Aurelius’ words reflect one of the most fundamental teachings of Stoic philosophy: true strength is not found in controlling external circumstances but in mastering one’s own mind. This idea contradicts a common human illusion—the belief that our happiness, success, and sense of peace are dictated by external conditions, such as wealth, status, or the behavior of others. Instead, Aurelius argues that power comes from within, through self-discipline, mental resilience, and the ability to detach from what is beyond our control. This teaching is not only a call to personal empowerment but also a challenge to the modern obsession with control, victimhood, and external validation.
At its core, this statement rejects the notion that we are helpless victims of fate. Many people experience suffering not necessarily because of their circumstances but because of their interpretation of those circumstances. Stoicism teaches that external events are neutral; it is our perception of them that determines whether we suffer. For example, two individuals facing the same setback—such as losing a job—may react in entirely different ways. One may feel devastated, believing their life is ruined, while the other may see it as an opportunity for growth and reinvention. The difference lies not in the event itself but in how it is processed mentally. Aurelius' statement reminds us that while we cannot always dictate what happens to us, we can control our reaction to it.
This principle has profound implications for emotional stability. If one internalizes the idea that external forces do not determine inner peace, they free themselves from the exhausting pursuit of control. Modern society often equates power with dominance—having control over people, wealth, or circumstances. However, Stoicism proposes a different definition: the ability to remain unshaken by chaos. A person who realizes they have power over their own mind will not be easily disturbed by adversity, insults, or uncertainty. This mindset fosters resilience, allowing individuals to navigate life’s inevitable hardships with a sense of calm and purpose.
Additionally, Aurelius’ words suggest that suffering is often self-inflicted. People frequently burden themselves with unnecessary anxiety by obsessing over events they cannot change. Whether it is worrying about the past, fearing the future, or dwelling on others’ opinions, much of human suffering is rooted in misplaced focus. Aurelius invites us to shift our attention inward, toward what we can control—our thoughts, actions, and attitudes. This shift in perspective liberates individuals from unnecessary stress and empowers them to act rationally rather than emotionally. It also fosters a sense of self-accountability; instead of blaming external forces for their dissatisfaction, individuals are encouraged to take ownership of their own peace of mind.
This principle is particularly relevant in leadership and decision-making. A strong leader is not one who seeks to micromanage every situation or control every outcome, but one who remains composed in the face of uncertainty. In times of crisis, the ability to focus on what can be controlled—rather than panicking over what cannot—separates great leaders from weak ones. The same applies to personal relationships; conflicts often escalate when people try to control others’ behaviors rather than mastering their own reactions. By accepting that we cannot force people to act a certain way, we can focus on cultivating patience, wisdom, and effective communication.
Aurelius’ statement also serves as a critique of modern culture, where many people seek validation and happiness in external factors. Social media, for instance, reinforces the illusion that one’s worth is determined by likes, comments, or societal approval. This pursuit of external validation creates a fragile sense of self, making individuals highly susceptible to emotional distress when they do not receive the approval they seek. However, those who embrace Stoicism understand that their value is not dependent on outside forces. They do not allow fleeting external circumstances to dictate their inner stability.
Ultimately, Marcus Aurelius’ words reveal a timeless truth: the strongest individuals are not those who impose their will on the world, but those who impose discipline upon themselves. By realizing that our greatest power lies in our ability to govern our own thoughts and reactions, we move beyond the illusion of external control and toward genuine inner strength. This understanding does not suggest passivity but rather a redirection of energy—away from futile attempts to control the uncontrollable and toward mastery of the self. Those who accept this philosophy cease to be prisoners of circumstance and instead become architects of their own peace.

Mental health plays a crucial role in my academic performance and personal life, shaping how I handle challenges, manage stress, and stay motivated. As a student striving for excellence in both academics and athletics, I have faced moments of self-doubt, exhaustion, and pressure to succeed. When my mental health is not in a good place, my ability to focus, retain information, and perform at my best is affected. Stress can lead to burnout, and moments of frustration can make even my strongest subjects feel overwhelming. However, I have learned that prioritizing my mental well-being is just as important as studying hard or training on the court.
One of the biggest challenges I have faced is balancing multiple responsibilities. Between rigorous coursework, basketball practice, and personal commitments, there have been times when I have felt stretched too thin. In those moments, I have noticed that my stress levels rise, my sleep suffers, and my motivation declines. When I am mentally drained, it becomes harder to engage in class, complete assignments on time, and perform at my best. Additionally, my personal relationships are impacted because I become more withdrawn and less communicative with friends and family. I have realized that maintaining my mental health is essential not only for academic success but also for my overall well-being and happiness.
To ensure that I am taking care of my mental health, I have adopted several key strategies. One of the most effective methods I use is time management. I create structured schedules that include time for schoolwork, sports, and personal relaxation. Setting realistic goals and breaking tasks into smaller steps prevents me from feeling overwhelmed. Exercise is another essential outlet for me. Playing basketball and staying physically active helps clear my mind, release stress, and boost my energy. Physical movement allows me to reset my focus and approach challenges with a refreshed mindset.
Additionally, I prioritize communication and connection. Talking to trusted friends, family members, and mentors helps me process my emotions and gain perspective when I feel overwhelmed. Journaling has also been a valuable tool for self-reflection. Writing down my thoughts allows me to recognize stress patterns, track my progress, and develop solutions before problems escalate. Most importantly, I remind myself that progress is more important than perfection. Learning to be patient with myself and acknowledge my achievements—no matter how small—keeps me motivated and prevents self-doubt from taking over.
As I continue my education, I will carry these strategies with me, ensuring that my mental health remains a priority. Success is not just about academic achievement; it is about maintaining resilience, balance, and self-awareness to thrive in all aspects of life.

Doubt has been a defining force in my life—both from others and within myself. From the moment I stepped onto the basketball court as an undersized player, I was met with skepticism. Coaches, teammates, and even my own mind questioned whether I was capable of competing at a high level. But rather than let doubt dictate my path, I used it as motivation. I trained harder, studied the game deeper, and refused to accept limitations imposed on me. Eventually, I proved my worth, earning playing time and recognition through sheer perseverance.
This experience extends far beyond basketball. Academically, I’ve encountered similar challenges—being told that certain goals were unrealistic or that the road ahead would be too difficult. But just as I did on the court, I responded with resilience. I sought knowledge, embraced struggle, and pushed myself beyond what others believed possible. That mindset is why I am uniquely deserving of this award. I do not back down from adversity; I transform it into fuel for growth.
Pursuing higher education is my next step in this journey. I refuse to let doubt—my own or anyone else’s—define my future. I want to enter the field of kinesiology and occupational therapy to help others overcome their physical limitations, just as I have overcome mental and physical barriers in my own life. Higher education is not just about securing a degree for me—it is about proving to myself and others that persistence triumphs over doubt. It is about equipping myself with the knowledge and skills to uplift others, showing them that limitations can be challenged and expectations can be exceeded.
This award would not just recognize my past resilience; it would empower me to continue defying doubt in pursuit of my future. And that is exactly what I intend to do.
