I am most passionate about giving back to my community. When you have the opportunity to benefit whether through a scholarship, continued learning and training, or mentorship; it is imperative to pay it forward. In everything I do I aim to be a man of service. Though my background was in health care, I always had a passion for technology. Through the completion of the IT Works program with Tech Impact (a non-profit), I've had a career shift into Tech. Working at Integra LifeSciences, a medical technology company; I feel I've found a way to merge my two passions! Through my current role as a Help Desk Technician, I am reminded that the work I do not only impacts the company but, also the doctors, surgeons and communities we serve. I am pursuing higher education in the field of Information Technology with the desire to ultimately give back; creating opportunities for increased inclusion in tech, technical workshops, and mentorship. When I am not working, I spend my time learning, diving into new skills and activities such as camping, painting, and volunteering. Through collaborations with local organizations, I aim to serve through mentorships, workshops, community fairs and outreach. I've learned that advocacy is what is needed to improve the utilization of resources. Sometimes we have to be the change we once needed and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue my development and in turn, uplift others.
