My main goal is to become a speech-language pathologist and build a career helping children and adults improve their communication skills and confidence. I want to work in schools, hospitals, or therapy centers where I can make a positive impact on people who struggle with speech and language disorders. I know this career requires dedication, education, and careful planning, so I have created goals and steps that will help me achieve success both academically and professionally. My first goal is to successfully graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field. After earning my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue my education by attending graduate school to earn a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, since this is required to become licensed in the field. During college, I plan to maintain strong grades, gain experience through internships or volunteer opportunities, and build professional connections with professors and mentors who can guide me throughout my journey. One of the most important resources I will need is financial support for tuition, books, housing, transportation, and other educational expenses. My plan is to apply for scholarships, grants, and financial aid to reduce the cost of college as much as possible. I also plan to work part-time when possible to help cover personal expenses while balancing my academics. Below is an estimated yearly budget for my education: Tuition and fees: approximately $8,000–$12,000 per year depending on the college Books and supplies: about $1,000 per year Housing and meals: around $8,000–$10,000 per year Transportation and personal expenses: about $2,000 per year Graduate school expenses: additional tuition and certification costs after earning my bachelor’s degree In total, I understand that becoming a speech-language pathologist may require six years or more of higher education and training. Although the financial cost is significant, I believe investing in my education is worthwhile because it will allow me to build a stable career doing something meaningful and rewarding. Timing is also an important part of my plan. During my first two years of college, I plan to focus on completing general education courses while improving my study habits and adjusting to college life. In my junior and senior years, I will focus more on speech pathology courses, internships, observation hours, and preparing for graduate school applications. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I plan to spend two additional years completing a master’s program and clinical training. Once I become licensed, my goal is to begin working as a speech-language pathologist and continue learning through professional development opportunities. I understand that obstacles may arise along the way, including financial difficulties, academic stress, or balancing responsibilities. However, I plan to overcome these challenges by staying organized, asking for help when needed, and remaining focused on my long-term goals. My family, teachers, mentors, and support system will also be valuable resources throughout this journey. Ultimately, my goal is not only to achieve career success but also to make a difference in the lives of others. I want to help people feel heard, confident, and supported through communication. By working hard, staying determined, and using the resources available to me, I believe I can successfully achieve my goals and create a meaningful future for myself and the people I hope to help.

I am interested in studying speech pathology because I want to help people find their voice and communicate with confidence. Communication is an important part of everyday life, and I understand how difficult it can be for someone who struggles with speech, language, or communication disorders. I want to become a speech pathologist so I can support children and adults who may feel misunderstood or limited because of those challenges. Being able to help someone improve their communication skills and gain confidence is the kind of impact I hope to make in the world. My interest in speech pathology comes from my desire to help others and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I have always admired careers that focus on care, patience, and improving the well-being of others. Speech pathology stands out to me because it combines compassion, education, and healthcare. I want to work with people who may struggle to express themselves and help them feel heard, understood, and included. I believe everyone deserves the ability to communicate and connect with others without feeling embarrassed or discouraged. The impact I hope to make as a speech pathologist is helping people build confidence and improve their quality of life. Many people with speech or language difficulties can feel isolated or frustrated because they are unable to communicate the way they want to. I want to create a positive and encouraging environment where patients feel supported throughout their progress. Whether I work with children learning to speak clearly, individuals recovering from injuries, or people with developmental challenges, I want to make a lasting difference through patience, understanding, and encouragement. The adversities I have overcome in my own life have helped shape my passion for this field. Growing up in a single-parent household taught me responsibility, resilience, and determination at an early age. I watched my mother work hard to provide for our family despite financial and personal challenges, and her strength motivated me to continue working toward my goals no matter how difficult things became. There were times when balancing school, responsibilities at home, sports, and personal struggles felt overwhelming, but those experiences taught me perseverance and discipline. Another challenge I faced was learning to become confident in myself. I have always been more quiet and shy, which sometimes made it difficult for me to express myself openly. However, through experiences like playing softball throughout high school and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, I gradually became more confident and outgoing. These experiences helped me understand how important communication and encouragement can be, which is one reason I feel connected to speech pathology. I believe the challenges I have faced have prepared me for a career in this field by teaching me empathy, patience, and the importance of helping others feel supported. I want to use my education to create a positive impact by helping people overcome communication barriers and feel more confident in themselves. Becoming a speech pathologist is not only a career goal for me but also an opportunity to change lives and give people the support they need to succeed.

Another reason college is meaningful to me is because it represents stability and success. Growing up, I watched my family work hard to provide and overcome obstacles, which motivated me to strive for more. I want to build a life where I can support myself and help the people who have supported me throughout my journey. Going to college is an important step toward achieving financial independence and creating a stable future for myself and my family. In addition to career success, I hope college will help me grow personally. I want to meet new people, experience different perspectives, and challenge myself outside of my comfort zone. I believe college will help me become more confident, mature, and prepared for the real world. It is an opportunity to discover new strengths, develop leadership skills, and continue learning not only in the classroom but through life experiences as well. Ultimately, I aim to build a future that reflects my hard work, determination, and values. I want to create opportunities for myself while also inspiring others who may face challenges similar to mine. My goal is not only to succeed academically and professionally but also to make a positive impact on the people around me. It is a chance for me to work toward my goals, continue growing as a person, and create a future filled with purpose and success.

Playing softball from 9th through 12th grade has shaped me into the person I am today in many ways. For all four years, I played third base, a position that taught me responsibility, leadership, and confidence. Softball became more than just a sport to me. It became a place where I learned valuable life lessons, built strong relationships, and discovered the kind of person I want to become in the future. Playing third base required me to stay focused and alert at all times. The ball can come fast, and there is little time to hesitate or second-guess yourself. Over the years, I learned how important it is to trust myself and stay calm under pressure. Whether I made a great play or an error, I had to keep pushing forward and not let one mistake define me. This mindset has helped me outside of softball as well. In school and in life, I now understand that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow instead of reasons to give up. Softball also taught me the importance of teamwork. Every player on the field has a role, and success depends on everyone working together. During my four years on the team, I formed close bonds with my teammates and coaches. They encouraged me when I doubted myself and pushed me to always do my best. My coaches especially inspired me by teaching discipline, hard work, and perseverance. They reminded me that success does not come overnight and that dedication is necessary to achieve goals. Their guidance helped me become more mature and responsible both on and off the field. One of the biggest lessons I learned through softball was how to handle challenges. There were difficult practices, tough losses, and moments when I felt exhausted or frustrated. However, those experiences taught me resilience. I learned that true strength comes from continuing to work hard even when things are not easy. As I grew older, I realized that this lesson applies to life beyond sports. Challenges are unavoidable, but determination and a positive attitude can help overcome them. Playing softball throughout high school has also influenced my future goals. The sport taught me the value of commitment and time management, which will help me in college and my future career. I want to continue applying the discipline and work ethic I developed as an athlete to every area of my life. Softball showed me the importance of being dependable and giving my full effort, even when nobody is watching. It also helped me become more confident in myself and my abilities. Before softball, I was often shy and unsure of myself, but being part of a team helped me step outside of my comfort zone and become more outgoing. Most importantly, softball helped shape my character. It taught me humility in losses and confidence in victories. It showed me the importance of supporting others and being someone my teammates could rely on. Through every practice, game, and team moment, I became stronger mentally and emotionally. I learned how to lead by example, encourage others, and remain determined during difficult situations. As I move forward into the next chapter of my life, I hope to carry the lessons softball has taught me wherever I go. I want to continue being hardworking, resilient, and supportive of others. The experiences I gained from playing third base all four years of high school will always stay with me. Softball was not just a game to me—it was an experience that helped shape my values, goals, and the person I am becoming today.

Education is important to me because it provides opportunities that can shape my future and help me become the person I want to be. I believe education is one of the most powerful tools a person can have because it gives knowledge, confidence, and the ability to create change. It is not only about learning facts in a classroom, but also about developing skills, values, and experiences that prepare people for life. Through education, I have learned how to think critically, communicate with others, and continue working toward my goals even when things become difficult. Growing up, I understood that education could open doors to opportunities that many people dream about. I want to attend college, build a successful career, and create a stable future for myself and my family. Education is the foundation that can help me accomplish those goals. It gives me the chance to become independent and to prove to myself that I can succeed through hard work and dedication. I know that every assignment completed, every challenge faced, and every lesson learned is preparing me for the future I want to create. Education is also important to me because it teaches perseverance and resilience. There have been moments in my life when balancing school, responsibilities, and personal challenges felt overwhelming, but continuing to push forward has helped me grow stronger. Education has taught me that success does not happen overnight and that determination is necessary in order to achieve meaningful goals. Even during difficult times, I remind myself that the effort I put into my education today will benefit me in the future. The lessons I have learned inside and outside the classroom have helped shape my character and motivated me to keep striving for success. Another reason education matters to me is because I want to inspire others, especially younger students who may doubt themselves or their abilities. I want people to see that no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, it is still possible to work hard and achieve your dreams. Sometimes people need someone they can relate to who shows them that success is possible. The legacy I hope to leave is one of kindness, perseverance, faith, and positive impact. I want to be remembered as someone who treated others with respect, worked hard, and always tried to help those around her. Success is important to me, but I also believe true success comes from making a difference in the lives of others. I hope to use my education not only to improve my own life, but also to give back to my community and support people who may be struggling. In the future, I want to mentor younger students and encourage them to pursue their goals no matter how impossible they may seem. I want to show others that challenges do not define who you are; instead, it is how you respond to those challenges that matters most. I also hope to build a legacy that makes my family proud by becoming someone who is dependable, compassionate, and determined. Most importantly, I want my legacy to reflect strength and perseverance. I want people to remember me as someone who never gave up, even when life became difficult. Through education, faith, and hard work, I hope to create a future that allows me to help others while continuing to grow into the best version of myself. My goal is to leave behind a legacy that inspires others to keep learning, keep believing in themselves, and continue striving for a better future.

Resilience has been an important part of my personal growth, even in moments when I did not realize it at the time. Throughout my life, I have faced challenges that tested my patience, confidence, and determination. Instead of allowing those situations to hold me back, I have learned to push forward, adapt, and keep going. By doing this, I have not only grown stronger as a person, but I have also been able to inspire others around me. One way I have demonstrated resilience is through my academic journey. There have been times when school felt overwhelming, whether it was due to difficult assignments, balancing responsibilities, or self-doubt. In those moments, it would have been easy to give up or settle for less, but I chose to keep trying. I stayed committed to my goals, asked for help when needed, and continued to put in effort even when things were challenging. By maintaining that determination, I was able to improve and stay on track. Seeing my persistence has encouraged some of my peers to keep going as well, especially when they felt like giving up. Another example of my resilience is how I handle personal challenges. Life is not always easy, and there are times when things do not go as planned. During those moments, I rely on my inner strength and faith to help me stay grounded and focused. Instead of letting negative situations define me, I try to learn from them and grow. I make an effort to stay positive and remind myself that setbacks are temporary. By doing this, I have been able to remain hopeful and motivated, which has had a positive influence on those around me. I have also inspired others by being a source of encouragement. When friends, classmates, or family members face difficulties, I try to support them by listening, offering advice, and reminding them of their strengths. I believe that resilience is not just about overcoming challenges on your own, but also about helping others find the strength to overcome theirs. By sharing my experiences and showing that it is possible to keep going despite obstacles, I have been able to motivate others to stay strong and not give up. What makes resilience meaningful to me is not just the ability to endure hardships, but the ability to grow from them and use those experiences to help others. I have learned that challenges are a natural part of life, but they do not have to define your future. Instead, they can shape you into a stronger, more understanding person. In the future, I plan to continue demonstrating resilience by staying committed to my goals and maintaining a positive mindset, no matter what obstacles I may face. I also want to continue inspiring others by being an example of perseverance and encouragement. Whether through my education, career, or everyday interactions, I hope to show others that they are capable of overcoming challenges and achieving their goals. Overall, my resilience has allowed me to grow, stay focused, and inspire those around me. It has taught me that strength comes from persistence, and that even in difficult moments, there is always an opportunity to rise, improve, and help others do the same.

My faith has played a major role in shaping who I am today and how I view the world around me. It has given me a sense of purpose, guidance, and strength, especially during challenging times. Through my faith, I have learned the importance of kindness, patience, and treating others with respect. It has also taught me to stay grounded, trust the process of life, and believe that everything happens for a reason. Growing up, my faith has influenced many of my decisions and actions. It reminds me to be mindful of how I treat others and encourages me to lead with compassion rather than judgment. For example, I make an effort to be supportive and encouraging to those around me, whether that means listening to a friend who is going through a difficult time or simply being a positive presence in someone’s day. I believe that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference, and my faith has taught me that serving others is one of the most important things a person can do. In addition, my faith has helped me develop a strong sense of perseverance. When I face obstacles or setbacks, I rely on my faith to stay hopeful and motivated. Instead of giving up, I try to see challenges as opportunities to grow and become stronger. This mindset has helped me not only in my personal life but also in my academic journey, where determination and discipline are essential. I have also worked to improve the lives of those around me by being involved in my community and supporting others whenever I can. Whether it is helping classmates understand schoolwork, volunteering my time, or simply offering encouragement, I try to make a positive impact in any way possible. I believe that making a difference does not always require big actions—sometimes just being there for someone or showing kindness can have a lasting effect. Looking toward the future, I plan to continue using my faith as a foundation for my actions and goals. Once I achieve my educational goals, I want to use my knowledge and skills to help others and give back to my community. I hope to be in a position where I can create opportunities, support those in need, and inspire others to believe in themselves. My faith will continue to guide me in making decisions that are not only beneficial for my own success but also meaningful for the people around me. Ultimately, my goal is to live a life that reflects my values and positively impacts others. I want to be known as someone who leads with kindness, stays true to her beliefs, and works to make the world a better place. With faith as my foundation, I am confident that I can continue to grow, overcome challenges, and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

My personal experiences with finances and financial education have been fairly limited, but they have played an important role in shaping my understanding of money and responsibility. Growing up, I learned the importance of being careful with money and making thoughtful decisions about spending. While I have not had extensive formal financial education, I have gained basic knowledge through everyday life, such as understanding the difference between needs and wants, saving when possible, and recognizing the value of hard work. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that financial stability does not happen by chance—it requires planning, discipline, and knowledge. Seeing how money can impact opportunities, stress levels, and overall quality of life has made me realize how important it is to become financially educated. I have also noticed that many people do not have access to strong financial guidance, which can lead to poor decisions and long-term challenges. This has motivated me to want to learn more so I can avoid those mistakes and build a stable future for myself. Although my experience is still developing, I have started to become more mindful of my financial habits. For example, I try to think carefully before spending money and consider whether something is truly necessary. I am also interested in learning more about saving, budgeting, credit, and investing—areas that I know are essential for long-term success but are not always taught in depth in school. In the future, I plan to use what I learn about finances to create a strong foundation for myself and my goals. One of my main priorities is to develop good budgeting habits so I can manage my income responsibly and avoid unnecessary debt. I also want to understand how credit works so I can build and maintain a good credit history, which will be important for major life decisions such as buying a car, renting an apartment, or owning a home. In addition, I am interested in learning about saving and investing so I can grow my money over time and create financial security. I want to be able to plan not just for my immediate needs, but also for my future, including emergencies and long-term goals. By gaining this knowledge, I hope to reduce financial stress and have more freedom to make choices that align with my goals and values. Beyond improving my own future, I also hope to use my financial education to help others. I want to be able to share what I learn with my family, friends, and community, especially with those who may not have access to strong financial guidance. I believe that financial literacy is a powerful tool that can open doors and create opportunities, and I want to be someone who helps spread that knowledge. Overall, my experiences with finances have shown me that there is always more to learn. I am motivated to continue building my financial knowledge so I can make smart decisions, achieve my goals, and create a stable and successful future for myself while also helping others do the same.
