Bio

I am a Fashion Design student with a passion for creativity, innovation, and purposeful design. My goal is to become a Creative Director in the fashion industry, where I can lead projects that inspire others through art, storytelling, and meaningful expression. Fashion has always been more than clothing to me—it is a powerful form of communication that allows people to share their identity, confidence, and values with the world. In the future, I hope to launch my own clothing brand with a mission to glorify God through creativity, excellence, and integrity. I want to create designs that inspire confidence and reflect positive values while making a meaningful impact on those who wear them. I am a hardworking, disciplined, and faith-driven student who is committed to both academic and personal growth. Through perseverance, dedication, and a strong work ethic, I continue to pursue my goals despite challenges. I believe I am a strong candidate for scholarship opportunities because I am committed to using my education not only to build a successful career, but also to serve others and make a positive difference in my community and beyond.

To me, an “IT” Girl is not someone who chases status and wealth. An IT Girl is a woman whose actions match her values. She works diligently, remains authentic under pressure, serves others even when there's nothing to gain, and lives in a way that reflects her faith. Most importantly, an IT Girl does not merely talk about her beliefs--she demonstrates them through her character, her work-ethic, and the way she treats others. One IT Girl rule that especially resonates with me is “Get Hired and Stay Hired(GHSH).” As a Fashion Design student at Parsons School of Design, my goal is to become a Creative Director before eventually launching my own cotoure fashion brand. Fashion is not only about designing garments; it also involves entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, branding, and building relationships. I want to develop a reputation for excellence, integrity, and creativity so that people continue to seek me out for projects because they trust both my work and my character. To me, GHSH means becoming someone whose dedication and professionalism create lasting opportunities while honoring God in everything I do. The greatest adversity I have faced has not been a lack of talent or resources, but the voices that tried to convince me that my dreams were impossible. Errors during the process of applying to Parsons School of Design, errors forced me to apply much later than planned and I many had a lot to say. Close-friends and family doubted I would be accepted. Some questioned whether me attending such a prestigious school was realistic, while others were quick to tear-my dreams down. Not to mention, they loved to sprinkle in how my love for God "MUST" be fake because "he is" and I'm so "not-perfect." My talents, courage, and new-found(at-the-time) identity in Christ were all being stepped on by people who I thought would support me. Throughout that season, I constantly turned to prayer and Scripture. It reminded me that my identity was found in Christ, not in the opinions of others and definitely not in my achievements, talents, or capabilities. I remember praying, “Even if I don't make it, God, You are still faithful, You are still good, and I am still Your daughter.” I'm so grateful that through that process, God strengthened my faith, showed me who my real friend are, refined my character and ultimately opened the door for me to attend the school I had dreamed about for years. In the future, I hope to use my success to impact my community in meaningful ways. Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, I saw many people abandon their dreams because they believed their circumstances defined their future. I want to be living proof that with faith, perseverance, and hard work, a person’s beginning does not determine their ending. My goal is not simply to achieve financial success, but to use the resources God entrusts to me to help others. I aim to support churches, families, students, and communities in need while creating opportunities for people who may not otherwise have them. Even now, I don't have it all yet I've invested and to be a missionary and spread the gospel to those far in need of hope. The world needs healing, I want to fund JESUS. Ultimately, being an IT Girl means living intentionally, serving faithfully, and allowing your beliefs to be reflected through your actions. As I pursue a career in fashion, I plan to apply these principles every day. Through creativity, leadership, and faith. I hope to build a career that glorifies God, uplifts others, and leaves a lasting impact on my community.
