Joining the fire department has always been a dream of mine. My love for helping others goes together with this rewarding but vital career. I have my share of medical illnesses that have put me in the hospital. This has driven me to want to be in the career field as want to be able to help others the same way I was helped. Care before transport to the hospital is vital in the outcome of a patient future. I feel like I am a good candidate as I not only have the heart to help others but unlike most, I can say I can relate to those that are needing critical care. I can’t begin to start to count the number of times someone has told me they know what I am going through when they have never gone through what I was going through. Though I might not 100% know what it feels like, I can picture myself as the patient in the back of the ambulance that was scared and treated them as if they were the little me.
