I just turned 43 and finished my first semester at my local community college. I’m perusing my Associates in Nursing. I’ve been a certification Paramedic for over 20 years after completing my Adult High School Diploma at a community college. Core classes and a degree were never a foreseeable option for me due to income. I’ve decided to go to school after all these years because it was available to me after significant financial changes in the home. I was adopted and raised by my aunt and uncle and now my two nieces and nephew have been adopted by my husband and myself. Being a full time Paramedic made ends meet for our two children but now that our family is bigger, I am furthering my education and skills to provide for our new future.
