We need you.” I realized at that moment this was my true calling. I registered for school that same week, and I am now in my junior year on my way down the path to my purpose. My stepson’s journey has been full of challenges. He lost his mother at the age of 3 and was thought to have a developmental delay. His grandmother also tried to take him away from his father, causing further trauma in his life. However, with my help and guidance, he has been able to overcome these obstacles and has received 13 awards from his school for his academic achievements. It has been a long and difficult journey, but the rewards of watching him grow, learn, and become a confident young man have been worth it.
